While the animations in volume 1-3 were goofy, you can find yourself forgiving it. It was still a little new, but they were buffing out the glaring issues. Especially with how everything clipped through anything (Ruby's cape, Yang's hair, hands on hips that clipped through the outfits lmao, etc.)

There were problems, but forgivable ones. It's all like making something homemade - it may not be like store-bought brands, but at least this one is better than the rest.

I wish the crew kept up with Poser. I was really happy to see how many of the problems were resolved as the volumes went by. How those creepy background shadows became actual NPCs, how the awkwardly empty environments started to look and feel like a real city or school, and how the characters started making eye-contact instead of weirdly looking off to the side slightly.

And overall how all the characters were actually written to be flawed but cool. All of them. Ruby was the basic starter of a shounen hero, but I liked it. I like the heroes that start off as a novice, it's relatable, and having friends around that actually worked as a support system for each other, while being kickass.

With Volume 4, it just sank.
