I know the fandom etiquette for top/bottom in ship names (e.g. suppose bingqiu is top binghe, qiubing is bottom binghe) but for poly relationships is it like... top/middle/bottom or top/bottom/top??? what if they're spitroasting him and hate each other.

So when I drew these sketches of lipstick 3zun I immediately decided that I also wanted a WangChengXian version of it, so just in time for wip wednesday: here we go! I went full on swimmer body for Jiang Cheng while making Wei Wuxian’s physique way slimmer. I am kind of regretting not giving him a bit of a tummy honestly (next time though!) and I spend way more time on cleaning these up than I wanted... But here we are!

Wei Wuxian and his collateral damages

wangxian reincarnate after their death and only remember their previous lives after they make eye contact the first time.

this life wei ying (27) just moved to china for a job opportunity and to take care of his grandmother when he meets lan zhan (28) who is the husband of his coworker, a reincarnated jiang cheng (27) who does not remember.

while they remember their previous lives (this one is maybe the third of fourth) it’s not like they are the same person. they have their lives their loves their personalities of this live and the memories of the past.

because lan zhan loves jiang cheng these memories of them hating each other are pretty confusing and distressing for him and there is something about wei ying that pulls him closer.

wei ying was pretty happy with his live but suddenly there are memories of him loving lan zhan and a part of him want’s that and he sees that a part of lan zhan want’s that too. but he also sees the way lan zhan and jiang cheng look at each other so he resolves to stay away.

jiang cheng loves his husband and notices when something is troubling him no matter how he tries to hide it. he sees the way wei ying and lan zhan seem pulled towards each other. a part of him wants to be jealous but he isn’t not really. he and wei ying are friends, good ones at that, and if anyone else had his husband looking at them the way he does he would he cut them out of his live but it’s wei ying and something tells him he would loose if he were to try and get between those two. he gives himself time to observe them and his feelings really think about it and in the end he comes to a decision. that he found wei ying attractive was just a bonus.

lan zhan has a fear about what his husband needed to talk to him about. he would never betray his husband in such a way, even for his beloved wei ying, but he knows his husband knows how he feels about wei ying and while he obviously doesn’t know the whole truth he must know enough. and he knows his husband, his anger and jealousy and self-deprication - though that had mellowed out a lot this live where he didn’t need to compete agains wei ying for his parents’ affection - he loves him because he knows him and he feares his husband will take his love for another as a sign he isn’t good enough.

wei ying had been content. he was doing great in his new position, his grandma had been getting more healthy, jiang cheng continued being a friend to him, and  now he had lan zhan in his life. he ignored the part of him wishing he could regain the closeness he and jiang cheng had shared in his first live, that he could have lan zhan again in a way he had lan wangji, hanguang-jun, his husband, not just for the sex but for the emotional bond. he had feared he would loose them for some time so jiang cheng telling him they needed to talk only confirmed that this would be the end of this state of limbo they had been in.

what neither lan zhan nor wei ying had expected was for jiang cheng to invite him to become a part of their relationship.
