Waterprince recs anyone???

so i've been pretty deep into the sunseeker(jamesxregulus) part of the marauders fandom for years now and have recently been intrigued more by waterprince(severusxregulus), kinda blame heir to house prince on ao3 lol. they're a past background ship but i was obsessed. i'm wondering what regulus' friend group vibes are with waterprince. most of the time it shifts with each pairing and i kinda wanna know since i'm new to the game for this ship. like in sunseeker fics he hangs with evan, barty, pandora, and dorcus, and he hates severus. so who's his gang when he's paired with severus? does he hang more with narcissa and lucius? or is avery and mulciber in the mix instead? i just wanna know over here since finding fics is kinda hard since i don't really know here to start with tagging. any fic recs would be much appreciated🙏. bonus if they're long fics with black or prince family angst too!

I love seeing other Snegulus enthusiasts with the Regulus Stalker/Sev's simp hc!. It's just the right dynamic for this ship. And not just because Severus deserves to be loved that way.

Regulus would be so down for Severus, he can't even process it properly. He is so humbled by the half blood prodigy.

I personally love Regulus Stalker, mainly because I think everyone in the Black family is crazy in their own way, and it's obvious that Sirius has stalker tendencies as well. Since he (reg) sees him, he is fascinated by him, and as the rich little boy socially maladjusted (like a normal person, not like a pureblood) He would be chasing Severus around Hogwarts

Oh totally, Regulus would want him in the same way he probably collects cursed objects or photographs of the Dark Lord. Is he disgusted and distrustful of Snape being a Half-blood? Yes, totally. But he will also feel this guilty interest that he covers with self justification.

I don't remember if I have ever seen someone saying that Regulus Black wouldn't have a relationship with a non-pureblood because he's a blood purist, but i strongly disagree with that.

This man chose to sacrifice himself over Kreacher, therefore considering his house elf's life more valuable than his own. Which means that he made one exception for his ideas of wizarding supremacy out of love.

So if a half-blood from his enviroment had caught his attention, started to matter a little for him and eventually found a place in his heart, it wouldn't be impossible for Regulus to make another exception for someone so extraordinary that turned his world upside down.

And for me, that someone is Severus Snape. He had the most disadvantageous situation out of all the DE slytherins him and Regulus went to hogwarts with, and however he still managed to surpass every single one of them in hierarchy and as a dark wizard.

I guess Regulus Black would turn off a little of his prejudice in order to have a chance with the guy who knew more curses in his first year than most of students from the seventh year and who was creating his own spells at his sixth.

I guess Regulus Black would make an exception for someone who shows extreme devotion towards his loved ones.

I guess Regulus Black wouldn't mind falling in love with Severus Snape.

Just a little drabble about Snape as a teenager. I'm new to writing fanfic, so apologies in advance :')

Severus sat alone at dinner, absent-mindedly picking at a piece of fried potato with his fork. His eyes were fixed on the opposite table—specifically, on Lily Evans. She was giggling with her friends, sharing some private joke. Now, Potter and Black had joined them too. Severus winced at the sight and the bitter, sickening feelings it stirred within him.

Lily’s gaze happened to fall on Snape for a brief moment. It was a look of utter indifference; she hadn’t even greeted him all day, and a second later, she was back to looking at the Marauders, having completely forgotten her friend existed. Severus finally forced himself to eat, but the potatoes had gone cold and tasteless.

Nearby, other Slytherins were talking. Their conversations never interested him—they were always the same: reputation, blood purity, boasting, and insults. How did they not tire of themselves? The only upside was that they didn't bully him. They likely whispered behind his back, but that was far better than being tormented to his face. Severus pushed his plate away; his appetite was gone.

"Snape," a voice came from behind.

He turned to find Regulus Black—a boy a year younger, with dark curls and sharp, aristocratic features. A typical Slytherin, yet his eyes set him apart. There was no real arrogance in them, only a practiced mask worn to maintain his pure-blood status.

"Evans was supposed to tell you there’s no Slug Club meeting this week, but I take it she forgot."

"Understood," Severus replied curtly.

Regulus lingered for a few seconds, looking off into the distance as if a sentence were caught in his throat. Eventually, he turned toward the exit. Severus decided to stay for the pudding. Just before leaving the Great Hall, Regulus cast a fleeting glance back at him, and Snape met his eyes with a dark, brooding look of his own. Then, Black was gone. Lily and the Marauders had already vanished from the Gryffindor table. Severus was left to finish his pudding in solitude.
