armand gets a lot of hate for this and...

caution major spoilers for iwtv season 2 ahead i've noticed that some people view armand not giving louis his blood right away in s2e5 as him basically withholding medical assistance and as purposeful administered torture. but i took it more as him battling with his emotions towards his emotionally cheating partner. at this point it's revealed that louis has been detached from the relationship for quite some time now. there's a bit of 'rules for thee but not for me' going on. louis is having flings with countless boys before feeding on them(oh how the tables have turned, he hated this with lestat and now it's a behavior he is perpetuating), he's been distant from armand after paris(we know what happens but still), he's been seeing lestat in his head throughout the whole relationship(which armand only discovers with older daniel in the interview), and then comes the tapes he takes with daniel where he makes no mention of armand. all of these become a compounding pile of blows to armand and their relationship in that moment. not to mention how at the first opportunity during an argument louis throws his most painful trauma back in his face. i would say that it actually makes complete sense as to why he doesn't give his blood to start. and at that point in time what right does louis really have to his blood? where does this entitlement come from when we know sharing blood is also a very intimate and personal act? by all means i would argue that louis is not owed his blood whatsoever. just because armand's blood can heal him faster does not mean he should be obligated to give it when it's so clear he is not valued as a person. and although it has medicinal properties, that does not override the autonomy he should possess to it when he also was not the cause of said injury.

do i think louis needed blood? yes. do i think he needed it to be armand's blood? no. do i think armand should still help louis recover? yes. do i think armand's blood should be the driving factor? no.

How to shift: a guide on embodying your desired self.

Acknowledge your current state.

To shift into your desired state, you first need to recognize where you're starting from. This is an essential step that many of us accidentally skip. Don't overthink it—just notice, accept, and observe yourself as you are right now.

Ask yourself what is actually driving you to leave for another reality. What do you feel is lacking here? Is it just curiosity and a desire to explore, or is it a deep need to escape this current world? There is no wrong answer, whatever your reason might be, just recognize and accept it.

Next, think about the version of you that has already shifted. How would they feel about your current drive and motivation? Would they still feel desperate or afraid, or would they be at peace? Maybe they would worry about entirely different things now, or maybe their motivation would come from a completely new place.

Imagine how your DR self would feel if they came back to visit this CR right now. Think about their mindset and compare it to how you are currently feeling. Wherever you find a gap or a difference between your current vibe and theirs, that’s exactly what you need to adjust. Use that to shift your perspective.

Doing this means facing your fears and pushing past your comfort zone. It’s incredibly easy to get stuck waiting for your external reality to change before you finally allow yourself to feel content. But the truth is, you have to generate that internal feeling first. Once you embody that shift on the inside, your outside surroundings will change to match it.

Overall, this just means you shouldn't wait for your physical surroundings to change before you allow yourself to switch mindsets. Shifting comes down to finding whatever internal state or vibe matches your desired self and tapping into it right now. It’s all about relying on your own internal awareness instead of looking for external validation from this CR.

Everyone’s journey is completely different, so focus on doing what feels right for you. There is absolutely nothing to worry about—you are fully capable of shifting. There are no exceptions when it comes to this ability; we all have exactly what it takes.

Waterprince recs anyone???

so i've been pretty deep into the sunseeker(jamesxregulus) part of the marauders fandom for years now and have recently been intrigued more by waterprince(severusxregulus), kinda blame heir to house prince on ao3 lol. they're a past background ship but i was obsessed. i'm wondering what regulus' friend group vibes are with waterprince. most of the time it shifts with each pairing and i kinda wanna know since i'm new to the game for this ship. like in sunseeker fics he hangs with evan, barty, pandora, and dorcus, and he hates severus. so who's his gang when he's paired with severus? does he hang more with narcissa and lucius? or is avery and mulciber in the mix instead? i just wanna know over here since finding fics is kinda hard since i don't really know here to start with tagging. any fic recs would be much appreciated🙏. bonus if they're long fics with black or prince family angst too!

i'm not the writer i wish to be and never will be

i don't think anyone knows the pain of realizing that you're just a snapshot writer. i can write the outline. i can write the motivations for every moment. every scene worth note. i can write about every character and arcs. but the chapter? the actual novel and not just the scene? having the story itself unfold is something i can never come close to. i have all these stories without the skill to see them come into fruition. oh the unbearable frustration.

letting go of your cr

if you have been trying to shift for a long time try considering what is holding you back. like what is it about your cr that is tying you to it?

i feel like i came into the epiphany that i feel like to some degree, letting go of my cr would mean changing myself. and when you think about it, it would. let me walk you through my thought process. a lot of us are shifting to another place. maybe you scripted world peace. maybe you scripted to be from another country. when you shift to this place you will have been shaped by your experiences there not here. and that means that some of your habits, your quirks, and even your fears may change. it'll be like it never happened to you. what makes you, you here won't make you, you there.

are you ready to accept that? are you ready to truly be another version of you? maybe not. maybe that's something you need to think about and what's been blocking your journey.

but hey, what do i know? this was just a thought i had. and if it resonates cool. good luck shifting guys. you'll get there when you get there and if this helped hopefully you'll get there faster.

don't let 'what if's?' stop you

what if i don’t shift?💫 hello angels... ｡･:*:･ﾟ★,｡･:*:･ﾟ☆ ｡･:*:･ﾟ★,｡･:*:･ﾟ☆ ｡･:*: i think it’s hard thinking about that what if. a lot of shifters say 'if you think that’s a possibility then of course it won’t happen'. but, i think sometimes it’s good to think about that topic, not as a possibility but as a hypothetical. we think of hypotheticals all the time, because we know they’re not real and therefore can’t hurt us. so this is how i think i would handle that hypothetical situation. i would continue to embody my dr self in all the ways available to me. this means clothing, actions, personality, and of course lifestyle. just doing things in all the ways i can. don't say 'well i can't do that, i don't have the money.' instead think about other aspects of your dr like your relationships with people or how you approach a situation. i think a lot of the times we forget about manifestation and shifting things in our current reality to bring us things that we want. all good things come to those who wait. really this is just a way to be okay with our current reality while waiting for that shift.

i know it can be demotivating to think about not shifting. but i think this is a good way to remember not to let shifting consume you. you can shift. you will shift. shifting found you and the only way you won't shift is if you give up. now go shift.
