In Legion of X, Kurt took an Arakki lover - Weaponless Zsen. Arakki society was forged in millennia of war. They use the term 'weapon' for mutant powers as they're historically irrelevant without combat utility. Zsen's gift is 'to paint with truth' - which Kurt thinks sounds beautiful, though Zsen dismisses it as useless. When he asks her to paint his truth, she's like 'you're a pussy, Krakoa is full of cowards, and this shit sucks. Fuck no.' Obviously she came around, painting the picture above on the wall of Kurt's house.
They challenged each other's beliefs fiercely but ended up learning a lot. Zsen painted that massive truth while Kurt slept and was gone when he awoke. I find hilariously obnoxious yet appropriate that she didn't use a canvas or something more permanent. Nope, an entire living room wall as big as possible. Unmissable. Unable to be ignored. Personal, as it can't be reproduced or moved.
We don't get Kurt's direct commentary on his truth, in fact we don't even see it until the Sons of X one shot. Zsen regretfully asserts that it's not beautiful, or perhaps she's referring to her weapon. It's open to interpretation, I suppose.
Kurt falls to his knees upon first beholding it, as you would expect. I like to think I'd want my truth painted as a curiosity, assuming I know my truth. Given more time, I'd have to admit I don't know it but would like to. Realistically, I don't know it and I'd hate to see it but I'd probably say yes anyway. It's a bit masochistic but who could resist, even knowing that it'd cause you pain?
Beauty is subjective, of course, and there's beauty in it - but I can't think of anything more terrifying and alluring than an unvarnished depiction of all that I am. I'm a big fan of self knowledge, but I'm certain it would fuck me up.
For how warlike the Arakkii are they're also VERY eloquent
In that you'd expect people with their culture to curse like soldiers

Charles Xavier travels to Arakko of Mars to have a talk with Apocalypse. Now face to face, Xavier delivers the information into Apocalypse's mind. Apocalypse, speaking of his new heir - Doug Ramsey as Revelation, says the boy is taking the easy road, the lazy path. He says Doug is not doing enough and IS not enough. He quietly comments that he should have chosen Rictor. Also, there's a mention of Craig Marshall the human astronaut/researcher of Mars is a Mayor of Port Prometheus in Arakko.
Note that this short story by Al Ewing takes place in Age of Revelation AU.
