I’m cold af
Wind chill here is -35 f. I just finished 3 hours in the barn milking at about 0 degrees and bedded down the cows real well. I have at least one more hour of outdoor chores in the wind to finish. All the snow has drifted so the paths are filled in. The wind is so strong it keeps whiting out everything. I got up at 4 am, was running late for work and am going on 4 hours of sleep. Got home and put wood on the stove, let the dogs out to pee and dragged them all back in asap. Now i’m gonna put on extra socks and every wool sweater i own to go water the horses and feed the birds, sheep, goats and rabbits. If i’m not back in a few hours assume i froze to death. (literally have people checking in on me so this doesn’t happen.) At least my car started this morning though. I only hope the sheep don’t start lambing till we’re back up to like zero or something. I’ve got frost bitten on my face 3 times this week and my hands are chapped and nearly bleeding. It’s so cold i have to take my inhaler before i go outside and even then i can barely breath. The wind whips snow into your eyes and the sun makes you blind so you can barely see. Did i mention it’s cold out? And the water buckets i carry freeze before i even get to the barn. At least the pipes aren’t frozen though. What an adventure. Spring is going to be very welcome this year. Stay warm all. (and if you live in a warm place send warm thoughts north!)
