JACKABY - 6.5/10
*some spoilers*
- morning nerds! last night i finished jackaby by william ritter and it was... interesting.
- first of all i don’t think i read the back of the book carefully enough because i was expecting something more along the lines of sherlock holmes meets carl hickman meets greg house. but it was more like if spencer reid got lost in a less scary version of the folk of the air universe?
- jackaby’s character was that appealing mix of genius and oblivious so that gets points but i had a very hard time following the actual storyline.
- loved the feminist vibes from abigail though, however not a fan of how she was almost immediately given a love interest when her whole thing is independence and strength.
- will i read the other 3 in the series? maybe when i’m done the four billion books on my tbr list. maybe.
