Commission art for Centavra VK
An animus has decided to turn you into a dragon... but YOU get to choose which tribe!
What tribe are you becoming?
MudWing
SandWing
SkyWing
SeaWing
RainWing
IceWing
NightWing
HiveWing
SilkWing
LeafWing
BeetleWing
WildWing
If you'd want to be a hybrid, feel free to say what kind. If you'd want to be a pre-Scorching dragon, SharpWing, or fantribe, that's also valid!
i drew some more MudWings, decided to bring the og snout back. i missed them.... they're a lot more fun to draw now than they were when i gave them beaks. im still futzing with the overall design, but i like this direction much better
As you can probably tell, my art style is very detailed. But, I want to make traditionally animated TV shows. So I tried making some little animation-friendly WOF tribe headshots. This is the first time I've tried something like this, and the other tribes I'm still working on, but let me know what you think or things you think I could improve on.
This drawing is from a few years ago but I know there's a handful of people out there who like both wings of fire and hermitcraft. So here's my idea for Doc.
I made him a mud/silk hybrid for size, coloration, and butterfly wings. He takes after the mudwings in size. He's gotta be big and imposing no matter what. Cause it just makes it funnier then when the people around him learn he's actually a giant softy.
I don't imagine he can spin silk or breath fire. But he's probably built something into his prostetics to mimic both in whatever way he feels like.
Also the fine red lines on his wings are either painted or tattooed on. The larger red dots were his natural coloration though.
Anyways. I gotta get back into drawing. I'm so out of practice. But maybe posting this will spark some motivation?
Wings of Fire Headcanons:
Rainwing wings are actually similar to hummingbird wings, making Rainwings the most agile fliers out of the different tribes
Nightwings scale coloring has to do with the night sky they were born under, not genetics, the wing pattern of stars followed this rule as well until the move to the volcano and then it became genetic. Nightwings will however begin to develop light silver scale spots and brighter wing stars the longer they spend time out in moonlight, though it will never be as bright as what it could have been
Nightwing find the bright star patterns to be incredibly attractive traits, and Morrowseer, Deathbringer, and Stonemover (pre statue) we considered incredibly attractive until Moonwatcher and Foeslayer were introduced
Though all dragons continue growing as they age the rate depends on the tribe, Seawings grow the quickest by a far margin followed by Nightwings, Skywings actually grow at the slowest rate followed by Rainwings though this is less noticeable as Rainwings are considerably smaller than Skywings
While Seawings are the best swimmers followed by Mudwings, Icewings are actually the third best swimmers of any tribe as a large part of their diet is located in the artic waters
The membrane of the wings are the most fragile part of any dragon tribe but Seawings and Silkwings have the toughest membrane of any tribe
Sandwings, Rainwings, and Leafwings while they don't technically have the strongest wing membrane they do have specifically tear resistant membranes
Hivewings have poor night vision especially when compared to other tribes; the exception is Cricket because that is her unique Hivewing ability, she just has no clue because of her poor eye sight and the fact she doesn't really know what is and isn't normal for most Hivewings
Cricket and Blue are just ADHD and autism and thats why they meld together so well
All of the dragonets of destiny have stunted growth or other issues due to not getting their environmental needs growing up
Pyrrhian AllWings Base
REDUX Pyrrhian AllWings base. Contains all seven original tribes, underwings, and NW + SW markings as seperate layers.
A Wings of Fire base for all of the base Pyrrhian species: Sky, Mud, Sand, Sea, Night, Ice. Also comes with SeaWings markings as a seperate
I got a request for a MudWing and goddamn it I actually have to settle on a design now! I’m stuck between making it look like the artstyle/making it look good versus making it as it’s described in the books with the muzzle sticking up and eyes up too so that they can chill and wait in the water
