...I will say, while I use it for the sake of commonly-understood conveyance of "the pendulum of the Overton Window swinging back to the left, ideally significantly farther and longer-lasting than before," I do feel a bit weird about using the phrase "Woke 2"

Both because of the obvious, I am whiter than a polar beargirl fucking a Schmoo-girl and it's not my word, but on a deeper level, correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought the idea of "woke" was about consistent, unbroken vigilance?

Like, while from what I know it apparently dates back to the 70s or the 30s depending on who you ask, when it came into the common parlance around BLM it was about staying aware even after the protests, after the big events, not "going back to brunch" but keeping your eyes open and the flame alight.

"Woke 2" feels incoherent as a term in that sense unless you think of "woke" in the same way an out-of-touch white person does, as a passing fad, that vigilance is only necessary when outside events bring it to one's attention because they're insulated from the low level buzz of misery.
