Happy Summerfest and please welcome my Secret Writing Project…
{insert drumroll here}
Check In for Summerfest 2025!
You approach the check-in counter. A bored attendant hands you a clipboard.
To receive your boarding pass, just reblog this post with:
Your name (or handle)
What you write
A fictional or real destination you’d love to visit
One thing in your "writer carry-on"
Example:
K.E. Koontz Horror & weird fiction Fog-covered mountain town A notebook filled with suspiciously wet pages
When August hits, we’ll match you with a gate or terminal based on your vibe. This is just for fun and no pressure to participate daily—hop in and out as your flight schedule allows!
For @writeblrsummerfest's Moodboard Layover, I decided to make a moodboard for Bad End, specifically based around the Coxes.
Imagine your sister drowned for you. Imagine knowing that she's trapped. Imagine dedicating your life to trying to find a way to save her, to set her free, to find your sister.
Imagine you reunite for the first time in decades, and her first impulse is to kill you.
For summerfest boarding pass.
This is for Anvil, pretty please. 💙
Anvil's dream destination would be earth. It's the home planet of one of his favorite people and his other favorite person has spent enough years there it's like his second home. He would be fascinated my aquariums, the desert planet he comes from simply does not have the weird things we do in the ocean. And he would love to eat so many of our animals...someone should give him a list of "animals that are not allowed to be eaten" and he would be amazed by how small everything is compared to what he's used to. He would love to go somewhere with huge trees. He would love that.
A nightmare destination...can I list earth here too? Specifically any coastal town or island. Poor guy can't swim. His whole species can't, they sink. But he would love munching on crabs. They come from the wet place? He's stupid enough to try walking in. He simply is not good with the "you're not allowed to go in there". Plus it has Fang's dad. And Anvil doesn't get along with that man. He'll try for his human but it is torture not throwing that man through a wall. Or window. On the 3rd+ floor. He does have some self control.
Here's a moodboard that gives out the big plot twist(s) in my book Beyond the Ripple Tides! Inspired by this prompt!
I couldn't decide on the plot twist exactly, so here's the end of Act 1 out of context! Featuring 3 revelations/plot twists which are all interconnected to each other.
Thank you @writeblrsummerfest for the prompt! And sorry if I couldn't do it exactly right, I'm still new to moodboards and stuff.
August 1st to August 31st | My Summerfest Masterlist | 2025 WIP Intro
The 2025 theme is "Airport Terminal". It's that strange and bittersweet in-between where stories linger: tearful reunions, delayed goodbyes, accidental meetings, and everything in transit. I’m participating with work from my original / fandom series Fantasy Worlds Collide, exploring my characters as they pass through their own emotional terminals. Some are grounded in reality, some far from it.
Below is the full index of my entries: writing prompts, games, moodboards, and community fun. All based on this year’s theme.
Moodboard Layover (from @writeblrsummerfest)
Thanks for the tag @orphanheirs
It’s time to create a moodboard for the only place your character feels at home. This could be a real place, a ruined cathedral, a rooftop, or even in someone else’s company
Fen’s house is typical of those built by the foxes of Fernstan. It is a practical structure made primarily of wood, and is a place of comfort and hospitality. This is where Fen has lived virtually his entire life, and within the walls is the only place where he can discard his disguise without fear of detection.
