Make up stories

Where they're coming from and going to

Take turns first me and then you

And in the morning remind me to wear sunscreen and a jacket

Fix my coller

Brush the dust off my shoulders as I leave

Want me at my best and love me at my worst

And in the evening notice my little scrapes and bruises

As you trace my outlines with your finger tips

Find my scars and make up stories about where they came from

Then make believe where were going and make me believe it's true

One day I want to sit on a park bench with you

when winter comes

his aching hands grasp at warmth, pulled to the honey glow of the other boy’s skin. his shaking fingers slide and fumble as he reaches desperately for the lifeline being offered. the rest of his body is far too exposed to the frost, even under all those layers, but it doesn’t seem to matter in that moment. when their hands are interlocked, when their eyes are fixed on cold cracked skin. there is no feeling anywhere in the body besides those hands. the radiance of that simple touch is enough, enough to heal. his body still shivers - a biological reaction -but in that moment, he can’t seem to find it in him to concern about the science of it all. his body can freeze, it can wither if it likes, none of it matters when his soul is so alive.
