It’s my birthday week so I’m surprising you with characters that I’ve wanted to write for!
Mondo, Lon’qu, Malos, and Simon + Celebrating with their S/O!
Mondo Owada
Mondo is going to celebrate loudly, as he does with everything else in his life. The occasion doesn't matter; everyone is going to know how happy he is for you.
You'll be holding onto his back while he speeds around town on his back with the rest of the Crazy Diamond gang. It'll sound like a parade with all of the cheering and honking in the dead of night.
Anything you want to do, he'll make it happen. Fancy restaurant? Not his usual pick, but he'll swallow his pride for you. Want to drive his bike? You'll be able to go down the street without him, but he's coming with you if you want to go farther.
Any celebration turns into a team effort with the entire Crazy Diamond gang. It is always absolutely overkill, but you wouldn't trade it for the world.
"Today is all about you, babe! I'll even let you take my hog for a joyride!"
Lon’qu
Lon'qu is the textbook definition of reserved, but that doesn't mean he won't celebrate with you! It's just going to be a quieter celebration. Preferably just the two of you.
A simple candlelit dinner, enjoying each other's company. As a man of few words, the action of making you happy is much easier than pacing around to think of what to say as congratulations.
He bought several gifts and scattered them around where you often frequent to watch your face light up throughout the day. He may not say it, but your smile makes him feel at peace.
Try not to point it out though, he'll sputter and have a flush on his face for a while afterwards.
"What? I-I haven't got a clue what you're talking about. These gifts could have come from anyone."
Simon Blackquill
Simon is still getting used to being affectionate after so many years behind bars. He's happy for you, of course, but he's still warming up to the idea of showing it outwardly.
He'll bring you to his favorite soba restaurant as part of the celebration. He's a regular, so the staff treats the both of you very well, especially knowing it's for a special occasion.
The Prosecutor's office can wait a day for him to submit an argument. They've waited seven years for him to be available to work again, so what's the harm in a couple more hours?
Taka will be wearing a little party hat for the entire day. Whether or not Simon admits to buying the hat is completely up to him.
"I suppose congratulations are in order. You've done well to get this far. A toast, to you."
Malos
Malos doesn't know how to celebrate anything, much less another person. Being the self-appointed 'Endbringer' doesn't allot for much 'bonding time'.
Maybe he'll be lighter on you during training or perhaps he'll accompany you around the streets of whatever titan you're visiting now. You will have to be very literal about what you want to do with him.
He makes it difficult to tell whether he is being genuine or not with his complements. Each word he says carries a general air of condescension, so you're free to interpret whatever he means by what he's saying.
You may find an item you've mentioned wanting in passing on your bed. Yes it's a gift, but good luck getting him to admit it verbally.
" Well, doesn't that look nice on you. Come on, don't spend all day looking at yourself. Weren't you the one that wanted to do some exploring?"
