Yancy can be your “bad boy with a soft side” dreamboat, but you also gotta stop calling him innocent and misunderstood, the guy murdered his parents, and he’s doin’ the time for it. He’s repentant, accepts his punishment, and copes with it best as he can. To me that’s more interesting than another bad boy softie.
