Sometimes we just need something to help us go from one day to the next. So this is just a couple of tips that might help you survive each day of school and study.
Take It Slow
Sometimes it feels like our lives are in hyperspeed, each day just whizzing by and before we know it that deadline or due date is the very next day. It’s time like this that we need to pause and take a step back. Take a deep breath and create a new mind frame. Take each day slow and steady. Don’t do an entire assignment in two days. Break it up into small parts. Do the introduction one day and then one body paragraph the next. You got many days ahead of you, just remember that.
Be Grateful
Our minds can be such dark places and sometimes we just forget that our lives are actually pretty good. Even when everything feels awful and depressing, sometimes finding just the small things in life can make a crappy day into a less crappy day. Appreciate the sunshine or a good book, or a pretty photo you found. Talk to a friend that you hold dear to your heart or just listen to a song that you absolutely know you love. Be grateful for the life that you have ‘cause you never know what can happen.
Do Something You Love
This is something that even people who took the HSC (or SAT if you’re American) told me and that is to find something that you love to do. Whether it’s reading, playing a sport or building models, having something that isn’t studying can help take your mind off the work in front of you. When you feel like you’re at a mind block or just can’t take in any more information then having a hobby can reset your mind and help you settle any anxieties and worries.
SLEEP!!
Yes, that’s right, sleep. Having a good night’s sleep can one hundred and ten percent help you survive each and every day. I used to be that person who slept for about three hours a day and had a thirty-minute nap sometime throughout the day. But during the summer, I tried to readjust my sleep schedule and I don’t nap anymore and I have at least 7 hours sleep each. And I’m not lying when I say that it makes you feel so much better. You survive longer into the day and you feel less tired throughout the day. Plus not napping during the day will allow you to sleep easier at night. So fix your sleep schedule folks and you’ll thank me later.
Eat Better
Don’t worry, I’m not about to say go vegan or vegetarian or cut sugar out of your life completely (unless you want to do any of those things). But just eating a little better each day can help you feel better in the long run. Don’t go straight for the soda or lollies when you’re feeling peckish, try an apple or something else that you’ll probably regret eating in ten to fifteen minutes. I know this is difficult, having a sweet tooth, BUT I have tried to discipline myself and keep myself from eating sugar at certain times during the day (i.e after 7:00pm or before 1pm). Eating better will help give you the energy to fight the day head-on.
Surround Yourself With Good Vibes
If you have friends or surroundings that are dark and negative, chances are you aren’t gonna feel super spectacular. Having good friends and a good environment is essential to simply survive each day at a time. Surround yourself with friends and people that are gonna motivate you to try harder and strive to achieve the best possible results (even if that means a little friendly competition sometimes). Good people with help bring out the good in you, so surround yourself with people you trust wholeheartedly and that you know are gonna be there to support you. And int hat case, be there to support your friends. Positivity and support is a chain; you get what you give.
So those are just some of my tips for surviving work, school and just life in general. Tell me if this helped you and don’t be afraid to ask me anything that may come to mind.
Love, changgustudies

Hello everybody, something that I feel comes up in conversation a lot but no one really tends to connect it to a productive student life is SKINCARE. I feel like no one really realizes that skincare is very important when it comes to leading a productive lifestyle. So here is my skincare routine and hopefully, I can help you get some idea of how to start or improve your routine.
Step 1: Oil Cleanser
Oil cleansers help break down any make-up and are super gentle so it doesn’t irritate your skin. I’m currently using the Garnier Softening Cleansing Lotion which smells great and is awesome at removing make-up, plus it’s very softening on my skin.
Step 2: Water-Based Cleanser
Water-based cleansers are great at removing any extra dirt and oil. I have strange skin, in that it is both dry and sensitive, so water-based cleansers are great for my skin type. I’m currently using the Simple Kind To Skin Refreshing Facial Gel Wash and I make it foamier by lathering it up with a loofah before rubbing it on my face.
Step 3: Exfoliate
Exfoliators are great at sloughing off any dead skin which will allow any products you use to sink into your skin better. I exfoliate every day, but I swap between two different exfoliators; physical and chemical. I use a physical exfoliator every Sunday, Wednesday, and Friday with Garnier’s Pure Active Anti-Blackhead Charcoal Exfoliating Gel and on any other day, I use Miniso’s Green Tea Extra Moisture Shining Skin Peeling Gel. And I exfoliate at night instead of the morning ‘cause don’t have time in the morning.
Step 4: Toner + Essence
Toners and essences are great for hydrating your skin and keeping it firm throughout the day. I use to use two separate products but I’ve been loving Miniso’s Hyaluronic Acid Essence Toner and it’s been keeping my skin super soft and happy. However in the morning, when I don’t have time to cleanse I’ll use Biore’s Triple Action Toner because it’s amazing for cleaning, tightening and treating my pores.
Step 5: Sheet Masks
Just want to assure everyone that I do not go and buy all the sheet masks I use. I tend to do sheet masks at least once a day, specifically at night and occasionally in the mornings. I do buy sheet masks but the thing I like to do the most is MAKE sheet masks. I buy the 50 packs of compression masks from Daiso and I buy toner to make my sheet masks. All you need to do is mix the toner with just a little bit of water and drop one of the compression masks into the mixture. It’ll absorb the product and there you have it, your very own sheet masks!! I have really bad anxiety so just taking ten minutes out of my day to sit and read a book while I put on a sheet mask is actually really therapeutic for me. So just go ahead and buy some or make your own. Even just doing one once a week is great for your skin.
Step 6: Serum + Treatments
A serum is something that you don’t necessarily need but once you start using it, you can see the difference in your skin so quickly. I use Essano’s Rosehip Collagen Repair Serum and it’s helped even my skin texture and making my skin firm and smooth. I use it in the morning and at night; just one pump and I focus on the sides of my nose (my skin texture is a little bumpy there) and my smile lines. This stuff is freaking amazing and I’m honestly scared of finishing the bottle because I don’t know what I’m gonna do without it. I also use Clearasil’s Ultra Rapid Action Pimple Cream for my spots. I don’t have acne-prone skin, but I have a couple of pimples every now and then so this is great for me.
Step 7: Eye-Cream
Eye cream really changes as you get older. I mostly use it to brighten the areas under my eyes because I have dark circles. I don’t really have wrinkles yet, but I still like to use eye creams. Plus it’s super hydrating and great for people who stay up late at night on their devices (i.e. MEEE!!!). I use Miniso’s Lavender Nourishing and Repairing Eye Cream, which is thick enough to be nice and hydrating, but lightweight enough to wear under make-up during the day.
Step 8: Moisturizer/Night Cream + Sunscreen
I love this step so much. I honestly can’t leave the house without doing this step. A good moisturizer leaves my skin super smooth and happy so never skip out this step. For the day I use Diaso’s Hylarounic Acid Moisture Gel. This is, like it says, a gel and makes it lightweight on your skin whilst still keeping your skin hydrated and moisturized. During the night I love using G&M Australian Lanolin Oil Night Cream. It’ll leave my skin soft the next morning and it’s freaking amazing. I’ll say this once and once only; SUNSCREEN IS IMPORTANT AND DON’T LEAVE THE HOUSE WITHOUT IT!!! I use to hate sunscreen, but it wasn’t until one of my friends was almost diagnosed with skin cancer, that I realized how important it was. So wear your freaking sunscreen. If you’re like me and don’t like the white cast that’s left over from sunscreen then go for invisible or sheer formulas. I like to use Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunscreen or Sun Sense Sensitive invisible Sunscreen because it won’t leave a white cast over my skin and doesn’t leave that greasy feeling on my skin.
So that’s basically it and I know it may seem like a lot in some people’s eyes or not extensive enough for others. But this is what I like to do and it makes me feel more confident in myself and my skin. So do what you love and remember to put on sunscreen!
