Blessed Solstice!

Let's do our New Year Wishes!

What you'll need:

Paper

Writing utensil

Scissors

Fire-safe dish (please be safe)

Lighter/matches

Instructions:

Cut 13 strips of paper.

On each strip of paper write down something you are manifesting for the new year. Remember to write "I am" statements, such as, "I am working a job I love and that pays me very well," not "I will be working a job I love."

Fold each paper up and mix them up.

Starting on 12/21 burn 1 single paper without looking at it. As you burn it, as the Universe to take this wish and fulfill it.

Continue to burn 1 paper every night through the new year.

On 01/02/2026 you will be left with one paper left over. That paper you can unfold, as that paper is the wish that is up to you to make come true <3 the rest is in the hands of the universe.

Altar ideas for yule <3

There are many ways to decorate your altar for Yule, a holiday that is celebrated by some Wiccans and other Pagans as the winter solstice. Here are a few ideas:

Incorporate natural elements such as pine branches, holly, and mistletoe. You could also use pinecones, acorns, and other natural materials.

Add candles in colors that are associated with Yule, such as red, green, and gold. You could also use white candles to represent the winter season.

Include symbols of the season, such as a Yule log, a wreath, or a small "Christmas" tree.

Use crystals and stones that are associated with the winter solstice, such as amethyst, clear quartz, and turquoise.

Place offerings on your altar, such as incense, flowers, or food. These offerings can be given as a way to honor the gods and goddesses or to invite positive energy into your space.

Remember to use your altar as a place of focus and intention, and to decorate it in a way that feels meaningful and sacred to you.

Winter Solstice Spell

Happy Winter Solstice! I’m excited to celebrate the longest night of the year and hope we can reflect on ourselves together. I’ve created a spell that enchants us with winter wonders and helps us calm down so we are able to look inside ourselves. I like to drink this tea before I go to bed. I hope you have a wonderful night!

Ingredients

1 cup or mug of water

1 candy cane

half a tbsp of chamomile

half tsp on vanilla

Directions

heat up the water until at your preferred temperature

stir in the vanilla counterclockwise and place the chamomile in to steep

let it sit for about four minutes and strain out

mix again with the candy cane, but this time stir clockwise and chant

“A tired sky closes its eyes to dream,

creating a wondrous dance with the stars.

Time is remembered through its color and gleam,

but when the sky opens and light begins again so do we.”

Make sure you imagine a blue color swirling around you like snow in the breeze. A white snow with a tint of blue and although it feels cold on your skin, it creates a warmth underneath.  

Then let your mind wonder in the past memories that swim around your mind. Take in the good and the bad and come to a peace and reflection stance. Slowly blance your mind and body. And take your first sip.

Yule intentions

Yule has been great! I got a lot of useful gifts and I finally did a thing for Yule. I just walked around my room three times with a cinnamon red candle, said a little sun prayer, thanked the spirits, everyone who is gone, and the gods and goddess as well as put out my goals and aspirations for this upcoming year while looking at the direction of the sun. Blowing out the candle and visualizing the smoke as my intent going into motion was also kind of fun because it’s not something I’ve actively thought about doing before. I’m so glad I actually decide to do something this year instead of letting this learning and spiritual opportunity slip past me like I always do. I should get more candles so I can do simple little things like this for all the sabbats.

Yule Potion

A tea spell for introspection, joy and prosperity, inspired by Yule -💌

Collect: a mug, your favorite fruity tea (I’m using Cranberry Apple Zinger because it reminds me the most of Yule), ginger, rosemary sprig, cloves, orange and/or lemon peel, brown sugar, garnet and snowflake obsidian (or whatever you find works best for your intentions)

Take your mug and put in your tea bag

Take your orange peel and stud it with the cloves, then put it in your mug. This will make it easier to fish out the cloves after

Place the rosemary sprig in your mug

Sprinkle ginger into your mug (if you’re using powdered ginger like me)

Fill up the mug with hot water and let it steep for about 5 minutes

Take a spoonful of brown sugar (you can use regular sugar too) and stir it in, clockwise to bring prosperity and happiness

Charge your tea with your crystal(s) of choice (here’s how)

Sit down with your tea

Wrap your hands around the mug and feel the warmth, reminding you of the sense of wonder and light the holiday season can bring to you

As you’re drinking the tea slowly, imagine this pure, happy warmth spreading throughout your entire body

Yule cookies!

This recipe was adapted from an apple cider cookie recipe by Bread Booze Bacon! Same recipe, I added some extra spices and ya know, the designs and frosting. Most all credit to BBB.

Prep Time:10 minutes

Cook Time:15 minutes

Total Time:25 minutes

INGREDIENTS

1 cup unsalted butter or margarine, room temperature

1/2 cup sugar, divided

1 tablespoon instant hot apple cider drink mix

1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla

2 cups all purpose flour

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon ground cloves

1/4 teaspoon ground anise seed

1/4 teaspoon ground lemon or orange zest

1 tablespoon milk (I used almond)

2 tablespoons sugar, for rolling

INSTRUCTIONS

Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.

In a large mixing bowl, beat together butter and 6 tablespoons sugar until fluffy, about 1 minute. Add apple cider mix and vanilla. Mix until evenly combined, scraping the sides of the bowl as needed.

In a medium mixing bowl, stir together the flour and salt. Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined. (The dough will look dry and like it's not coming together.)

Add milk to the dough and mix until the dough comes together and forms a ball.

Use a small cookie scoop to portion the dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them 1-inch apart. You can either roll into 1 inch balls, or do as I did and flatten it out and then use cookie cutters to make fun shapes!

Place 2 tablespoons of sugar in a small bowl, and sprinkle or dip each shape/ball into the sugar. Return to the baking sheet. 

Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the cookies are set and the bottom edges are just starting to turn golden brown. Remove from the oven and cool on the pan for 3 minutes. Transfer to a wire cooling rack to cool completely.

That's when I frosted the shapes! Wish I had wreaths instead of tree cutters so it was a bit more Yule like, but trees are what we got.
