I think that a personification of Jax's femininity is in there... Otherwise why would there be an existing no girls allowed policy...They put the egg in a room and made sure she could never crack.

"if Jax is a trans woman she's still an abuser so she's bad representation so the show is transphobic" you're an idiot. you want your blorbos to be perfect ideal angels, I want my blorbos to be realistic, nuanced, flawed human beings, we are not the same. I LIKE that she's messy and fucked up and problematic, I think it's a realistic depiction of how a lot of repressed and traumatized trans women are. I think the show goes to great lengths to explore how and why she is the way she is, and to evoke sympathy for this kind of person. it doesn't excuse her actions but it does make them understandable. and I think the fact women like that deserve sympathy is an idea worth stating and worth shouting. yes she's a bully and she hurt everyone around her and that may never change. she still deserves sympathy.

i’m sure you responded because you think you have me in an epic checkmate or something equally insufferable, but i’ll explain anyway. i posted this because, as a fat person, i’m reliably reminded of that fact because it colors the way i’m treated in the world. even ignoring interpersonal issues that could be hand-waved away (such as being accused of searching for reasons to be aggrieved about my experience as an oppressed person, for one), there are structural realities i have to deal with. need a public restroom? guaranteed discomfort, and god forbid you’re on a plane. need a jacket because it’s suddenly cold or raining? extremely unlikely you’ll be able to find one in a comfortable size at most easily accessible stores. need a doctor? good luck finding one who will listen to you at all, or even stop tripping over themselves asking if you’re diabetic or have tried losing weight before even acknowledging why you actually need care. need help with groceries or food insecurity? food pantries will often purposely give you less or shame you for trying to take what you really need. need to use public transit? you’ll be physically uncomfortable or in pain the whole time, because the seats aren’t made for you. and on and on it goes.

then, factoring in the interpersonal aspect, it’s still fucking exhausting. every reference to my appearance is couched in some kind of “in spite/because of your fatness” rhetoric. every reference to their own appearance betrays that their greatest fear is looking like me. every popular piece of media portraying fat people ensures we’re some kind of villain or monster or, at best, a success story waiting to happen. fat people can never just Be in media; if we’re depicted as anything other than monstrous at all, it is in service of a narrative of “improvement,” one that specifically includes losing weight or otherwise highlights that fat person’s exceptionality as an object of desire or makes it a point of comedy.

and, of course, even gesturing to these exhausting experiences requires recounting them in detail, lest you be challenged on the legitimacy of your rage. so no, i’m not searching for shit to be mad about. i’m always mad because so much is structured to specifically bog down oppressed people. to be in such a position of privilege that you could only conceive of someone who is upset about those structures to be “hunting” for things to be mad about is disgustingly tone deaf. if you’re not mad, it’s because you’re so removed from those othering experiences, so unaffected, that they don’t seem real to you. so maybe shut the fuck up when people who are affected talk about it.
