Finding my flexibility on the aerial hammock.
Goofing around with my friend last week on aerial hammock
07/14/16
But this Aerial Hammock flight over the Williamsburg Bridge is real. The Aerialist, Seanna Sharpe was arrested after the performance, but she did say that she chose the spot so that no cars would see her and cause an accident.
Finally! Here’s a very close-up version of my Cell Block Tango solo, haha. The story behind why it’s such a close video is because I’m facing a wall that’s not far away and my husband is standing against it filming. Why am I way over there and not over with the other performers, you ask? Because the point on which the hammock will be hung on the day of the show is still a silk point and won’t be changed until load-in on the day before the show where we strike all the mats and bring in the scissor lift to change the hard point over to a hammock. So yeah, we have to pause the music to let people get over to the hammock in our rehearsals and will have to just figure it out on the day of. Yay.
The good news is, I think we’re all feeling really confident in our traffic patterns and staging and such after our two hour rehearsal yesterday, so we should be fine. What might not be fine is that that point might not have a bungee on it, which will make drops terrrrrrible. I already have massive bruises on my thighs from my beautiful pike drop from back balance, so I’m investigating ways to pad my tights. I’m not even joking.
Please ignore my garbage pullover and not straight knees on anything. This was our very last run through and I had been there for three hours already. My costume seems to be working out fine, albeit the twill tape I was using to hold my “blood” scarf seems to be either too tight or too loose every time I run my solo, so I’m looking into other options there since holding it in my mouth isn’t an option.
Just a little transition from splits down on the aerial hammock. (at Awakenings Pole Dance Fitness-Manayunk)
Hammock combo I taught yesterday!
Simple little combo on the aerial hammock that I’ve been really loving lately. Kind of like a “wine glass” I guess… at least that is what I’ve been calling it. ;-)
Happy FRY-day! Ok so maybe these are just halved potatoes, but close enough. No oil, just salt, garlic, and rosemary. Had a vegan sour cream and siracha dipping sauce on the side 😋
PB + J Overnight Oats
BBQ Jackfruit sandwiches for dinner. If you thought you had to chuck the crock pot when you went vegan, I've got news for you. I cooked it on high for a couple hours then mashed with a potato masher to give it that pulled pork/chicken texture. DELICIOUS! Super simple meal prep - only took about 5 minutes to set up and it was ready to mash and eat when I got home from my krav class!
Avocado bagel with a view
When your dog eats better than the typical American diet. Carrots, mango, and kale are his favorite treats.

Taco Tuesday
Trying out this overnight oats thing. This one is brown sugar and cinnamon and I have a PB&J batch waiting in the fridge for tomorrow.
