Indian Milk Fritters, also known as 'Malpua,' are sweet and crispy fritters made from a simple batter of all-purpose flour, milk, and sugar. They are flavored with cardamom and deep-fried to perfection. These fritters are a delightful Indian dessert and are often served during festivals and special occasions.
Ingredients: 1 cup all-purpose flour. 1/4 cup powdered sugar. 1/2 cup milk. 1/4 tsp cardamom powder. A pinch of baking soda. Oil for frying.
Instructions: All-purpose flour, powdered sugar, cardamom powder, and a small amount of baking soda should be combined in a mixing bowl. Add the milk gradually while mixing to create a smooth batter. Not unduly thick, but thicker than pancake batter is the goal. In a deep fryer, heat the oil over medium heat. While heated, the oil shouldn't smoke. Little portions of the batter should be dropped into the hot oil using a spoon or your fingers. Fry, stirring occasionally to ensure even cooking, until they become crispy and golden brown. After removing the fritters from the oil, use paper towels to absorb any leftover oil. If desired, top with honey drizzled over or sprinkled with powdered sugar and serve hot.
