The Ritual
'Are you sure you agree to go on with this ritual? It's a good way to connect to the goddess.' He nodded yes in agreement to her and then she gathered all the ladies of the coven. 'Tonight we have a guest volunteer!' He lay down on a square stone bed, with roman engravings of different aspects of the goddess. The candles and large fire torches cast an obscure light and shadow upon the figures rendering them alive. As he lay his head down he could see the moon and stars. Also he could see remaining pillars of the goddess' temple. He could hear chanting of the coven ladies. The leader brought a sword and a chalice. She drew a circle around the stone. Anointed the man with a drop of wine on his forehead. His cheeks. Adam's apple. Her mask was that of peacock feathers. She moved her hips and thighs above his hips, continued to anoint drawing a line on his bare chest. 'What do you wish for? The goddess grants one wish for you tonight. What do you ask of her?' 'I want you!' Everyone went quiet all of a sudden, the chanting stopped. 'Very well! Just for tonight though. You may ask me for anything, any coven secret provided it stays between you and the coven. You promise that whatever follows is in favour of the goddess? this coven? And yourself? Then we may proceed!' 'I do!' The ladies gave a loud cheer and continued the circle of dance and music. The leader caressed the man's hair with a hint of a witty smile. Took of her mask. Put on her silk robe. 'Let's go for a moonlight walk in the field shall we?' She proposes. The moon was a giant glowing sphere that night. The meadows were fully lit with liveliness and mystery.
