To vent: crocheting is hell and knitting is worse. You have to count. I did not nearly fail math just to get into a hobby where I have to do math.
That said, my sweater is looking atrocious and i cant wait to inflict it upon my family and coworkers.

My rose bush went a little insane this year so i making things! Like... rose water! What is it? I dunno, water that smells good? Gonna make it, though.
Also, dried roses! For... teas? Uh, cooking? Something. But, damn, will they be dried.
I have bought an aloe leaf from the grocery store. I have learned that the latex in the leaf is very not good for your organs. I am not getting a lot of consistent information about the de-latexing of the aloe goop.
I think i have to soak it in water. At which step do i do this? Unclear. I love it.
I can't say that I'm a fan of the crazy legs, but they were fun! I was even able to give the Gray one as a gift to my stepdaughter's mom so that's great! I never get to gift her things.
I think the only way to fix the legs would be armature wire , but I don't want to use that. I will be using a thinner yarn and crocheting it into a cord for the legs if i make them again.
I made a bag for my crochet hooks! I honestly couldn't tell you what I did for the chains or whatever... i kind of just kept trying different things per layer.
I know for a fact that the hooks are going to poke through the side because they are already, but I have family that's willing to sew a bag for the inside of my bag..
So, yey!
The cord i got from a random pinterest video that i can not find again, but it was super simple.
Bakugou and Kitty!Kiri on their way to class. Poor Kiri, his paws aren’t exactly suited for bag handles. Meanwhile, Shinsou nearly has a heart attack at the sight of those jumbo-sized beans.

First finished crochet project i tried to make a glove and it went very poorly, so, obviously, i had to make a rat.
Honestly, it turned out amazing, given i have no idea what im doing and can't read patterns for instructions. I think i used a 'magic circle' to start the snout and then single stitch (probably) for the rest.
I know for a fact, looking at videos, i did the magic circle way wrong but i worked in the end. Im tempted to put cat nip in it and let the cats go wild
My sister had sent me a few tutorials so next time i might have something less lumpy and with matching legs
I dont even care that its not finished, only a few hours from my last project and this already looks better. You can see the patterns!
Ive really got to learn how to ... weaving? Off the loom. 'Cause this aint the way, those strands are both obvious and ugly. But! I did a thing!
I tried patterns, but they dont really show. Im gonna do more colors next, hopefully to make the patterns show. Who knows? Not me.
Third time is still not the charm, but i figured out how not to miss stitches while finishing it... but i made it too tight and cannot move my fingers.
It was knit on a long knitting loom, and i finished it with a crocheting hook... none of these things i know how to use.
Im learning a lot, but i have very little guidance since reading about crocheting or knitting or anything doesn't really compute, and videos only go so far. If there was someone I'd go to in person, that would be OK. But most of those are in groups and I have a social anxiety and so this is fun.
Ok, thats enough for now. I keep getting my lines mixed up when trying patterns. Ill need to watch a few videos to figure out what im actually doing. Made 'bracelets' though, in under two hrs, which i assume isnt the worst.
Gotta love popcicle sticks and combs.
Hahahaaa, took a strong curve. I was staring at temu, looking at a very small weaving loom and its price tag... and then looked to my left and saw the cheap shelf my child was too rough with and my cats finished breaking.
So i made a really shitty loom! I need to make a cardboard, like, spacer to keep the yarn in place, i think, but i decided to just use cheap yarn and scrap fabric to test out what the heck i was doing.
They are very ugly and rough to the touch because of the yarn and scraps used, but it was fun! Im going to try a few more things before going in for 'actual' supplies, like yarn that wasn't hidden in the back of my closet.
I am totally not avoiding making gloves on my knitting loom, because im an adult and that would be silly. Ptth. As if.
I got a ball of yarn from my sister for christmas and, through a combination of extreme distraction and knitting while watching one piece for the first time, i took 8 weeks to knit about maybe 8 hrs worth of work.
My plan is to get a similar amount of yarn for another section and knit it together for a full sized throw, but itll be a different color because she apparently got it on sale at a store in GA, where i am not.
Had fun with the pattern, though, and i kinda like both sides... completely missed a loop at the very beginning
Merry christmas to me! Got a cheapo knitting loom in November and have been practicing. This was my first try, made a kinda-scarf and used a few different yarns and patterns.
Gotta say, the cheap white acrylic yarn i found in the back of my closet? Not great. Itchy, stiff, has that tooth removing squeak as the fibers rub together, but it worked ok when combined with thinner softer yarn.
The first try - the brown that's loosely knit - is kinda cool. Im curious if i could figure out some type of pullover for like. Spring. Or fall. Cool weather. I have no idea how to do clothes on a long knitting loom though.
Oh, im having fun

I doubt I have anyone watching this blog, but tossing this out to the wind if you feel like spreading the word.
I am doing a gofundme to try to help a few injured cats that have fallen into my lap, which I dont have the money to do much more than feed. Unfortunately, my bleeding heart is bigger than my bank account, and between the roaming dogs, raccoons, and small livestock I raise, I can't just have them outside.
Recently, there has been an influx in abandoned cats near me, and - as usual - there are the young ones that are getting injured. I have a kitten with a screwed up leg that was hit by a car in front of me and another kitten that was somehow traumatized that has a degloved chin (the skin was pulled down and is kinda puddling at the bottom of his chin). Both of these i found at different times in my work parking lot, in the middle of a shopping center. Both are male and need to be neutered on top of these issues.
I have another girl, at least several years old, who was abandoned in my neighborhood and chose our house to get help. She has some sort of bladder issue, maybe just a uti, and needs to be checked out.
I am putting them up for rehoming but since all humane societies, cat shelters, and foster homes are full to bursting at this time, I want to help them as I wait, since itll probably be a while.
Once again, even if you just pass this on, that would be great. Thank you for taking the time to read.
in terms of psychoanalysis i’m really going all in on james wilson ocd diagnosis.
i personally interpret his behaviour in relationships - being drawn to needy people, leaving when he feels he’s not needed anymore - as due to a hyperinflated sense of responsibility, something people with ocd have to really battle with to approach their relationships healthily and prevent codependency. you see someone with a problem and you physically can’t walk away, because seeing it and not getting involved feels like neglect. long post, more below the cut.
