Zarmina Khalid
Wildly depressed twenty one year old Pakistani loses her parents; deals with it through diary entries that would make it seem like nothing is wrong. On the other end you have her brother whose losing it in the inbox of someone he has no business talking to would have you think everything ever is wrong. Truly the full representation spectrum of what it is to be gay and Pakistani and siblings (can't really attest to the experience of losing your parents)
Genre:
Uh. Erm. Uh. Fiction?
Featuring:
+ yet more gay people, but this time they're in the real world
+ the fucked up reality of being Pakistani
+ Eldest Daughter. Enough said.
+ Religious guilt but I'm not fully sold on that yet
+ Coming to terms with grief! Learning to live with your trauma! Cute moments with your siblings!
+ Happiness is NOT fake and it is NOT fleeting and you WILL figure it out. You're literally just twenty one.
