This Year, I WILL! - MAJOR Update for 2023
2022 wasâŚwell, to put it bluntly, like a rollercoaster. Sure, I had a lot of great ideas and creativity, but not a lot got done. Certain huge milestones that I wanted to accomplish last year didnât happen, and I missed good opportunities because of it. To make a long story short, I felt really disappointed with myself at the end of 2022. I started off with a plan to change myself, and I ended the year with the same lackadaisical attitude towards school, writing, artâeverything in general. And though I was sitting here feeling sorry for myself, I was content with sitting back and not doing anything to change it, satisfied with an undefined vision and dying dreams.
But not this time.
This time, Iâve taken the time to really sit back and think long and hard about what I need to do and how Iâm going to go forward this year. Instead of sitting back and being content with how Iâm half heartedly doing things, Iâve decided to completely change my mindsetâand my year. This year isnât going to be a year of âThis year, I mayâ.
This year is going to be a year of âThis yearâI WILL!â
In addition to tackling a few important goals for myself, Iâve also decided to start taking better care of myself: physically and mentally, namely. I need to remind myself that Iâm not Supergirl and never will be, so I donât have to try to tackle everything at once. I need to remind myself that I am worthy of love and more loved and appreciated than I think I am, and that feeling sorry for myself hasnât helped my self-esteem at all. I need to take care of the OCD & anxiety that has followed me for four years. I need to get rid of the materialism and consumeristic habits that have wrecked my financial life and my credit for ages.
Sure, not a lot of people will understand my dreams. I even had a few people tell me not to make a lot of plans so I donât feel disappointed. However, Iâve learned one thingâwhile it may be hard for me to share my dreams with other people, I shouldnât expect everyone to understand or support it, because these are my dreams and mine alone. As such, I will do what I can to pursue my dreams and not worry about what others think of them.
This year, the buck stops with meâthe only person who can change my circumstances and mindset is ME.
This year, I will stop letting my dreams die on the vineâI will write everything down, even if it sounds outrageous on paper, because those ideas were put there for a reason.
This year, I will start loving myselfâI will put my mental health and physical well-being first.
This yearâI WILL!
