India bans 118 more Chinese mobile apps, including PUBG

The Central government on Wednesday banned 118 Chinese mobile apps, including the popular game PUBG. As per the Union government the apps have been banned by the Ministry of Electronics & Information & Technology as, they were involved in events that are harmful to control, truthfulness, security & safety of the state and public order.

"This discrepancy will safety measure the welfares of crores of Indian mobile & virtual reality handlers. This verdict is a targeted change to confirm the safety, security & control of Indian World Wide Web," said a statement from the ministry.

The statement said it has acknowledged many complaints from many sources, as well as reports about misappropriation use of some mobile apps accessible on Android & iOS platforms, for thieving & surreptitiously spreading users’ data in an unauthorized way to servers placed outside India.

"The accumulating of these information, its exclusion & reporting by fundamentals incompatible to countrywide security & defense of India, which ultimately trespasses upon the sovereignty & veracity of India, is an element of very considerate & straight concern which needs emergency actions," it said.

The government had banned 59 Chinese apps on 29th June 2020 to guarantee the safety & sovereignty of Indian Internet. The list comprised apps like TikTok, Shareit, UC Browser, Helo, Likee, Mi Community, Virus Cleaner, Beauty Plus, WeChat, UC News, Weibo, Xender, Bigo Live, Cam Scanner, Clean Master – Cheetah Mobile, etc.

A month later it had banned 47 more apps for supposedly functioning as “replicas” of the earlier banned apps. With the fresh ban, the sum of Chinese apps banned in India now stands at 224.

The Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre under the Ministry of Home Affairs has also sent a comprehensive recommendation for blocking these malicious apps, said the declaration. "Likewise, there have been equal mutual concerns, highlighted by numerous public administrations, both exterior & privileged the Parliament of India. There has been a solid refrain in the public space to take harsh action against apps that damage India’s control as well as the privacy of our residents," it added.

The game was unrestricted in China only after Shenzhen-based Tencent Games accepted a 1.5% stake in Bluehole Studio, & this was how PUBG Mobile came into being. The rest is history.

With the government now banning PUBG Mobile, it is clear that it wants to set a solid superiority that the nation’s privacy cannot be taken for granted.

Both Google & Apple will have to obey with the new presiding & eliminate these apps, including PUBG Mobile, from the Play Store & App Store correspondingly. ISPs will also have to selectively block these apps so current users can’t access them till further announcement.

Former President Pranab Mukherjee dies at 84.

Pranab Mukherjee, prior President of India & determined of Indian politics, inhaled his last on 31st August 2020, Monday. He was 84. The information was declared by his son Abhijit Mukherjee. The expert politician was found to be coronavirus positive when he went to the Army Hospital for treatment. At the hospital, he underwent surgical procedure for a blood clot in the brain.

 "With a Heavy Heart, this is to inform you that my father Shri Pranab Mukherjee has just passed away in spite of the best hard work of Doctors of RR Hospital and prayers, duas & prarthanas from people throughout India! I thank all of You," his son Abhijit Mukherjee tweeted.

The Centre has declared 7 days of state mourning for the former President. Prime Minister Narendra Modi was amongst the first to pay the tribute, saying he was blessed to have Pranab Mukherjee's guidance since he took office.

India mourns the passing away of “Bharat Ratna Pranab Mukherjee”. He has left a permanent mark on the development path of our nation. A researcher par superiority, an immense statesman, he was respected across all the party-political spectrum & by all segments of society," the PM Narendra Modi said in tweets. "I was new to Delhi in 2014. As of Day, 1 I was blessed to have the direction, support, guidance & blessings of Shri Pranab Mukherjee. I will always treasure my interactions with him. Condolences to his family, friends, followers & supporters across India. Om Shanti," he wrote.

Pranab Mukherjee's health deteriorated & was on ventilator support for days. This morning, the army hospital in Delhi had stated a deterioration in the former President's condition. He had gone into septic shock due to his lung poison; the Army's Research & Referral Hospital had said.

Mr Mukherjee was admitted to hospital on 10th August & had operation on the same day for the elimination of a clot in the brain. He had confirmed positive for COVID-19 in the hospital. "On a visit to the hospital for a separate procedure, I have confirmed positive for COVID-19 today. I appeal to the persons who came in contact with me in the last few week, to please self-isolate & get tested for COVID-19," he had posted.

He developed a lung infection & a renal disfunction over the past few days, according to doctors.

        In the past few weeks, there had been an outburst of get-well-soon wishes from politicians across parties for the veteran, who was Minister of finance, defence & external affairs in several governments till he took the country's uppermost post.

Black Panther" Star Chadwick Boseman Dies of Cancer

Chadwick Boseman who made a worldwide effect bringing for portraying Black Panther to life in the Marvel Cinematic Universe films along with performing Black icons Jackie Robinson & James Brown on the silver screen, died on Friday after a fight with colon cancer. He was 43 years old.

Boseman died at his residential home in the Los Angeles area with his spouse & loved ones by his side, his spokesperson Nicki Fioravante informed The Associated Press. Boseman was detected with colon cancer 4 years ago, since 2016, when he was identified with stage 3. It later on advanced to stage 4, his family said in a report.

Boseman never openly discussed his condition & persisted to work on major Hollywood films throughout & amid "numerous" operations & chemotherapy, his family said in a statement.

"It was the dignity of his profession to create King T'Challa to life in 'Black Panther,'" they said. “A true fighter, Chadwick persisted throughout it all, & gave you several of the films you have come to appreciate so much,” his family said in the report.

Boseman acted the 1st black superhero to get his own individual film in the world record-breaking Marvel franchise with 2018's "Black Panther."

The movie, set in the imaginary African kingdom of Wakanda, was admired by critics & viewers, becoming the first comic book film to be chosen for finest picture at the Oscars & earning over $1 billion internationally.

He made his film first appearance with a small role in 2008 sports drama “The Express: The Ernie Davis Story”. His 1st movie as a lead star came in 2012’s “The Kill Hole”.

Boseman died on a day that “Major League Baseball’’ was honoring Jackie Robinson day. “His magnificent performance in ’42′ will stand the test of time & act as a strong vehicle to tell Jackie’s story to viewers for generations to come,” the league penned in a tweet.

The 2018 film developed one of Marvel’s greatest achievements, earning over US$1.3 billion, & is the high-ranking grossing movie in the MCU following the four Avengers instalments. The latter 2 of those films also introduced Boseman.

GST Collection Affected due to Coronavirus Pandemic:

The Union Finance Secretary on Thursday said GST collection has been brutally compressed this year, primarily on account of the coronavirus pandemic. As per GST Compensation Law, states need to be given reimbursement, he told the 41st GST Council meeting.

Shortage in compilation gap of goods & services tax (GST) stands which has occurred this year at (estimated to be Rs 2.35 lakh crore), is due to coronavirus pandemic as well, the government said on Thursday. The cess accrued for GST compensation was Rs 95,444 crore & total amount of reimbursement released for 2019-20 is Rs 1.65 lakh crore to states for fiscal 2020, including Rs 13,806 crore for March, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman stated after the 41st GST Council meeting. Adding Up, Sitharaman said that the covid-19 was "an act of God" & an astonishing factor that influenced GST collection.

Speaking with the media after the 41st GST Council meeting, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Thursday, 27 August, stated that two possibilities of reimbursing states were considered at the 5-hour-long meeting.

"Option 1 initiated to the GST Council was to offer a special window to states, in discussion with RBI, to make accessible Rs 97,000 crores at a satisfactory interest rate... & Option 2 given to GST Council was that the absolute GST reimbursement gap of Rs 2,35,000 crore of this year can be met by states, in consultation with RBI. These options will be forwarded to states for a viewpoint in 7 days & will be relevant for this financial year only," Finance Secretary Ajay Bhushan Pandey was mentioned as saying at the conference.

The 41st meeting of the Goods & Services Tax (GST) Council led by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman & including delegates of all states, held discussions through video conferencing on ways to set up for the shortage in states' revenues, resources said.  

A reduction of 0.5% in the deriving limit of states under the Fiscal Responsibility & Budget Management (FRBM) Act will also be given as part of the second leg under the first option, Sitharaman said.

States have requested us to give them 7 working days to consider concerning the options. These options would be accessible only for the duration of the current year, the condition would be reassessed next year. We may have an additional GST meet shortly,” FM Sitharaman added.

“Once the agreement is approved by the GST Council, we can progress fast & clear out these dues, & also take care of the balance of the financial year,” reported ANI, quoting Sitharaman.

"As acknowledged by finance minister in GST Council meeting apprehended in March, allowable views of the substance were tracked from the attorney general of India who said that GST reimbursement has to be remunerated for the evolution period from July 2017 to June 2022," Ajay Bhushan Pandey said, addition to that the AG has discoursed that deficit in GST gatherings cannot be met from Combined Fund of India.

GST Collection Severely Compressed Due to COVID-19’

The finance secretary began the meeting by stating that GST collection has been brutally crushed this year due to the COVID-19 epidemic.

He pointed out that the amount due to states for April-July 2020, the total GST reimbursement to be compensated to states is Rs 1.5 lakh crore, attributing the amount to low GST collections this is because there was barely any GST Collection in April & May," said the secretary.

The GST deficit in FY21 is estimated to be Rs 2.35 lakh crore, of which only Rs 97,000 crore is approximate to be due for execution of GST & the rest due to the epidemic, Pandey indicated out at the conference.

Although Congress & the states governed by non-NDA parties forced for the Centre meeting its legislative responsibility of concealing the shortfall, the Union government cited a legal opinion to say it had no such responsibility if there was a shortage in tax collections.

The options being considered at the GST Council meeting consist of market deriving, increasing cess rate or expanding the number of items for levy of reimbursement cess.

In the previous meeting held on June 12, the GST Council agreed to waive off fees for late filing returns between July 2017 to January this year to write off the effect of COVID-19 disaster on micro, small & medium enterprises (MSMEs).

Born in a family of traditional Albanians in Skopje in 1910, Teresa left her home at the age of 18 & later joined the `Sisters of Loreto` situated in Ireland’s Rathfarnham. Mother Teresa, whose actual name was “Agnes Gonxha Bojaxhiu”, shifted to India in the late 1920s.

She wanted to learn English in the hopes of enhancing a missionary, & English was the language of training for the Sisters of Loreto in India.

On 110th birth anniversary of Mother Theresa, people all over the world are paying tributes, & remembering her marvelous life events, & her involvement regarding humanity.

The Mother, who was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1979, is known for her immense work for the sick, the dying, the poor & the bereaved. Mother Teresa was such a big-hearted soul that when she won the Nobel Peace Prize “for work undertaken in the tussle to conquered poverty & stress, which also represents a threat to peace” in 1979, Though, she denied accepting it & encouraged the jury to support the prize money of USD 192,000 for facilitating the poor people of India. was subsequently worshiped as a Patron Saint by the Vatican Pope for her service to the needy & poor.

Mother Teresa arrived to India in 1929, & after a period of teaching at St. Teresa’s School in Darjeeling, she got her first religious pledges on 24th May 1931. She later went on to school in Kolkata, where she worked for almost two eras. However, helping the poor & deprived was Mother Teresa’s true calling & in 1948 she commenced her journey of helping the poor & the deprived.

In 1950 she established the Roman Catholic religious gathering which later went on to be known as Missionaries of Charity. Throughout her life Mother Teresa build many homes for the poor, needy, those dying from AIDS, leprosy & tuberculosis throughout the India, & according to 2013 reports Missionaries of Charity has extended to 700 missions in 130 nations, offering assistance & encouragement to the needy & contaminated.

Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations begin in India amid COVID-19:

          So, 10 day’s celebrations of Ganesh Chaturthi begin during Covid-19 epidemic, a grand ‘arti’ of Lord Ganesha was performed in several parts of the country including at the Shri Siddhivinayak Temple here in Dwarka. Priests also done ‘arti’ at famous Shri Siddhivinayak Temple in Mumbai, Shreemant Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati Mandir in Pune Maharashtra & the Ganesh Temple in Delhi’s Connaught Place.

On the occasion, the temples & Ganpati idols are excellently decorated. Followers are visiting the temples to get the blessings of Lord Ganesha. Though, the number of people coming at the temples is less number as matched to previous years due to Covid-19 pandemic.

At the temples, priests were seen following Covid-19 set of rules, such as shielding their faces with mask & keeping social distancing to prevent the virus. ‘Hawan’ was also done in several temples along with chanting of mantras.

After 10 days of festivities, ultimately, the devotees attempt farewell to the elephant-god for the year by dipping it in water bodies.

Though, the festival this year is being celebrated in a much more constrained way during the global pandemic situation. The social distancing standards will avoid people to celebrate the festival in the gathering.

According, to new guidelines of the Ministry of Home affairs (MHA) announced on July 29, cultural & spiritual functions & other large crowds will resume to remain banned.

During the coronavirus pandemic & constraints on public group, the 10-day Ganesh festival commenced in Mumbai & other parts of Maharashtra on Saturday, even though the traditional ceremony & grandeur was disappeared this year.

The Maharashtra authority has issued standards concerning “Ganeshotsav festivities”, saying that demonstrations should not be taken out before installing & dipping the idols of the god.

It also said that the heights of Lord Ganesh idols fitted by Sarvajanik mandals & at household-level should be constrained to 4ft. & 2ft. correspondingly, this year. As a result, the number of people coming out in the market to buy Ganpati idols for fitting in their homes, housing societies & sarvajanik pandals, was restricted. The regular atmosphere & zeal of the festival was comparatively low this year.

Due to the restrained celebrations, small industries of that flourish during the festival, like flower suppliers, sweet shops, stores offering decoration items, artificial or costume jewelry, transporters got a hit. The pandemic also affected numerous others, including performers & carriers.

Nevertheless, in some common marketplaces like Dadar in central Mumbai, people yet came out in large numbers to purchase material required for decoration, puja rituals in the last couple of days.

Lalbaugcha Raja, Mumbai's popular sarvajanik Ganeshotsav mandal, cancelled the celebration this year in observation of the pandemic, while Wadala's GSB Sewa Samiti, believed to be one of the richest mandals in the metropolis, delayed the celebration to 'Magh Shudh Chaturthi' in February next year in 2021.

The usual pandal decorations in the city are disappeared this year & social happening have been substituted by public awareness programs & health checking camps by the pandals.

Since the last few days, Mumbai & the nearby areas have been observing heavy rains. The monsoon continued Saturday morning but still people stepped out to bring home the idols of the divinity amid sings 'Ganpati bappa moraya'. In some areas sparklers were also exploded to welcome the Lord Ganesh.

Chief Minister of Maharashtra Mr. Uddhav Thackeray also welcomed Lord Ganesh at his official house 'Varsha'. Some celebrities & political leaders also established the idols at their places.

The festival of Ganesh Chaturthi is also recognized as Vinayaka Chaturthi. It begins on the 4th day (chaturthi) of the month of Bhadrapada, the 6th month of the Hindu calendar. During the Covid-19 epidemic, Uttam Kumar, a Delhi-based idol maker is moving his artistic hands while giving finishing touches to a three-feet idol of Lord Ganesh. “Compared to last year, the sales have gone absolutely down. Creating of idols is our family business, & we have been preparing it for years & years. This could be the first time that we are encountering such drop-in orders from customers,” said Uttam Kumar to ANI, an idol maker who has his stall in Matka Market, near Sarojini Nagar.

Talking about the planning, the 30-year-old artist noted that the organizing & supplies of materials started three-four months back. Most of the items & many Ganesh idols in their stalls are from Kolkata.

“We began the preparation in the month of April-June, but even the raw material & supplies to reach here in Delhi from Kolkata had issues due to the constraints of movement due to Covid-19,” he added.

Another lady, though gently taking her 4-feet-tall Ganesh idol made of mud, back to her stall during the drizzling rain talked to ANI about how most stalls in Matka Market have focused on preventing idols made of PoP (Plaster of Paris).

The artist who did not wish to disclose her name said, after the choice to call off the use of PoP by the groups, many amongst them have made a sensible attempt to make idols of mud or clay or the ones that are not dangerous to nature.

Though, she stated that only families, who are ready to take home Ganesh “murti” are coming to place orders, but not many pandal coordinators have contacted them so far to purchase or place orders for Ganesh idols for the celebration. “There are no majority-orders, unlike last year & family is also aware of buying idols that are of short-height.”

For the Time Being, Ajay Shastri & Neelima Bhagwat, the husband-wife duo who organizes eco-friendly Ganesh idols shop at Jankakpuri, Desu colony, are also encountering minor problems in their sales for this year.

The couple, who have been operating the shop for the last 8 years have since then dedicated on making Ganesh idols, entirely out of clay, & other eco-friendly materials that are in no way dangerous to the ecosystem.

The 12-15 worker, who are working for them from Mumbai are also encountering effects due to the hit of Covid-19. Not only for of the propagated of the virus but also the heavy rain that the coastal state had to suffer in recent times, caused unhappiness between the idol makers. “They are facing monetary problems & the employment cost has also grown,” said Shastri to ANI.

Talking about his business, here in Delhi, the proprietor said: “The major discrepancy this year is that clients who used to get 18-24 ft. Ganesh idols every year, have ordered 6-8 ft. idols this year”. Having a varied range in the size of idols from 6ft. to highest 24-ft., the couple’s business, according to them is going “fine”, nevertheless they are concentrating on making more small-sized idols to meet the increasing demand.

The 10-day celebrations of Ganesh Chaturthi, the birth anniversary of Lord Ganesha, had begun on August 22. The festivities will end with the final absorption of the Ganesha idols, called the Visarjan.
