The first breath was full of light. And how cruel that the next was of darkness. The temptation, a bitter taste in the back of the throat. Was it right?
To demand such perfection, and be so quick to condemn. We are nothing if not made in your image.Â
Our world and itâs violence, the suffering, sometimes I am surprised we survive it.. Loneliness. Loneliness is such a terrible thing. A punishment for a crime not committed. And hope is so fleeting, intoxicating, and so heavy on the shoulders.
I have seen Earth. I have seen war. I have seen death, hell, and heaven, and it is easier to see sadness than to see happiness.Â
I have drifted through this world as a body already dead. This gold that gnaws slowly along the bones, reminding of life.Â
Of the hell I carry within me.Â
I wish I could say it has meant something, but it has only given me sorrow.
This tragedy planted into the chest;Â
It grows. It blooms. It wilts.Â
These bodies were not meant for such grief.Â
Itâs all weâve been blessed with.Â
We are your children, but not equal except in punishment.Â
I am your father and I have loved you all.Â
A second after that human says
And did we have to break under the burden of your love?
