When I was super into rain world I used to block people like crazy on here for characterizing pebbles as a teen or turning moon or artificer into his mother figure #INeverGaveAFuck Thats a grown iterator man with iterator balls LOL

I swear I’ve seen someone talk about this before (artificer being characterized as five pebbles’ mom, that is) and it’s a really annoying form of fandom misogyny where the women in a story get their stories and characters reduced to just being a moooommmmyyyyy and the men are tiny little babies who don’t know what they’re doing. I think even the original downpour was somewhat guilty of this by really leaning into the big sis moon stuff even though it was mostly just an offhand title in vanilla rw and pebbles only ever refers to moon as a friend (to my knowledge.. I haven’t played in a while). There’s nothing inherently /wrong/ with exploring that dynamic either but she also felt kind of flattened in other ways (ex. the downpour characterization post I rbed a few weeks ago)
