@teratomaling good question!!! there was! and this answer deserves its own reblog. the first women’s league was called the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League. however, when all of the men returned from WW2, there was no more interest in women’s baseball. this all-women’s league is what inspired movies like A League of Their Own . This is the first women’s pro league since 1954!!!

i hate this cause i did japanese for like a year and this explains the use of the -ne particle WAYYYY better than my teachers ever did. it took me ages to comprehend what this post makes abundantly clear.

my teachers: its like a, a little rise at the end of a sentence, to show that you are seeking a response, while not warranting the -ka particle which would make it a proper question.

me: ok. i guess i get that??

fun fact: afaik, "-ne" was inherited from the Portuguese settlers/priests that stayed in Japan in the 16th century. It comes from "né?", which the contraction of "não é?", "isn't it?".

The 21-year-old targeted female pupils and staff who he claimed were "misgendering" trans girls.

Update 17 June: This article was originally published without including key details about this case, due to miscommunication between BBC reporters in court and the writers. We have updated the article to explain that these threats were directed at three all-girls' schools, related to the "misgendering" of trans girls and that Darren Rigby identified in one threat as a trans woman.
