Shark Tale!
Saphron: Hey, you still feeling down?
Adrian: *Nods*
Saphron: Well, Uncle Jaune is here to help you cheer up.
Jaune: Hey Adrian. So this tale starts a long time ago when I was just starting out as a huntsman. There was this girl shark who liked me. Okay?
Shark Pyrrha: *Memory* Hello!
Jaune: And we used to spar a lot together. Then when we were sparring, she said, "I wanna go on a date." So we went on a date.
Jaune: And then we competed in the Vytal Tournament, and made it to finals.
Jaune: And I saw this crazy lady come around the corner and burn her to dust. And that scars me every day Adrian! It never goes away! Never!
Saphron: You were supposed to tell him a story that would cheer him up!
Jaune: It never ever goes away! The pain will be there forever!
Terra: Are you feeling better, Adrian?
Adrian: No, I actually feel worse now.

Jaune: So Pyrrha, what was it like winning the Mistral Regional Tournament 4 times in a row?
Pyrrha: The first time was exciting. Testing my skills out against the best competition Mistral had to offer, and the prize money meant that my family would never face poverty again.
Jaune: That's cool. What about the second time?
Pyrrha: The second win was more of the same, though winning my first time did put a bit of a target on my back. Everyone always wants to beat the last's year champion if possible.
Jaune: Oh.
Pyrrha: The third year was... almost a little hollow. There wasn't really any challenge in it anymore. Just spectacle.
Jaune: That's-
Pyrrha: It was better than the fourth time though. Everyone seemed to be resigned to losing when they were placed against me and barely even tried in our matches.
Jaune: ...
Pyrrha: There wasn't even a championship round because my would-be opponent forfeited the match before it even started. I went home and cried alone in my room for two hours.
Jaune: ...
Pyrrha: ...Sorry.
Jaune: Do you need a hug?
Pyrrha: There wasn't even a fifth one. I walked into the venue, signed up and immediately won because i was the only one who showed up. I had to pay people to keep this a secret from the media.
Jaune: Please... tell me you're joking...

Detective: Here we have video evidence of Ms. Xiao Long breaking and entering into the warehouse.
Yang: That's not me!
Detective: You can see the video for youself ma'am. Unless you've got a copy of you running around somewhere, you did it.
Yang: Bullshit!
Blake: No! That can't be Yang!
Ruby: Yeah, she would never do anything like that.
Weiss: For all her faults, Yang is not a common criminal.
Detective: She's in the video, girls.
Blake: No, that's not Yang.
Detective: Of course it is.
Blake: No, look at how her boobs bounce at 1:34 seconds into the video.
D+RWY: ...
Blake: I've studied her boob dynamics extensively, and her boobs bounced 2 pixels less than they should have in this video!
Neo: *in handcuffs* …and I would’ve gotten away with it if it weren’t for you kids and your horny nerd cat girlfriend! 😤
Blake: *Lawyer outfit* When the tits don't bounce, innocence you must announce.
Blake: If the nip doesn't slip, you must acquit!
Blake: If there's no bounce in the breasts, the defense is at rest!
Blake: If-
Weiss: I will pay you any amount of money to stop talking about Yang breasts.
Honestly, it's still a mystery for me to this day why people could/would hate Bumbleby.
What's wrong with characters created for each other, being literal soulmates? What's wrong with slow-burn, friends-to-lovers storytelling? What's wrong with them being the literal other half of the other, the one who understands them the best? What's wrong with them having to share a trauma, a common demon that at first tears them apart, but also brings them back together stronger than ever by overcoming it with the other by their side? What's wrong with well written, non-toxic couples? What's wrong with one of them being the literal, canon first love of the other? What's wrong with two characters always having each other's back? What's wrong with the sunshine one managing to get through to the one with walls and make her smile again? What's wrong with them finally allowing themselves to love and have their first kiss among literal clouds?
What?
Because Bumblebee is what Blake has been for the past 3 volumes and thats what she will be until the end of the show.
I'm tired of entering to any social media related app that has a RWBY FNDM just to see Jaune been hated everybady for the most stupid reason. He is hated for been a "self incert of Miles" (He is not and Miles had stated that several times including other CRWBY memberd) Been hated for stealing the spotlight from Team RWBY 10 years ago (Jaundice arc did give some world building and also told us what is a semblance. Since then Jaune hasn't "stole" Team RWBY's and the times he has spotlight is WAY less than Team RWBY's) Also the story dosen't get better with Sun or Adam replacing Jaune (Sun has his own team that he left alone for 2 Volumes and had the concecuences of doing that in the books. Adam is a straight up villian since his first appearence) And no putting your OC as a replace meant for Jaune dosen't improve the story. Also killing Jaune instead of Pyrrha dosen't work on canon, only in "What If" fics or scenarios. Jaune is important in someway to the story like Ren, Nora, Qrow, Oscar, Winter, and more charecters are besides Team RWBY.
Call it a 'Self-Insert' is also... not accurate? A Self-Insert is someone that looks very much like the writer, has a bunch of girls thirsting after him for no reason and he's ridiculously OP.
Jaune looks nothing like Miles, the only girls that are into him were Pyrrha and possibly Weiss, with the former being dead for more than half the show and his semblance, while very useful, is not exactly OP when compared to the other power systems in the show.
I'll agree that he might be stealing screentime that could have been used for Ruby, but that is mostly for the Beacon Arc.
V4-V6, he barely steals it. He barely has any solo focus on him and when he does, its about Pyrrha. I'll agree that we should have gotten more of Ren and Nora take on this whole thing, but let's not forget that in the span of five seconds, Jaune realized that Pyrrha loved him and was going to sacrifice herself while he couldn't do anythinng. That would traumatize anyone and it would explain why the focus was more on him.
V7-V8? No way he steals screentime or he's any of the critics i hear. Oh the Mother scene? People, it was a five second scene that was used for pure comedic purposes. You don't see Jaune later breaking marriages and building a harem. And he barely has any focus considering these two volumes Ren and Nora are more the center focus.
So with at least three volumes of barely being in the spotlight, there is no reason to complain when he has it in V9.
Who are you
Any chance we could see each of the designs at the end? Tried to pause, but i can't get all of them.
Personally, if I wrote for Vol 8, I wouldn't have some big argument about Yang and Blake telling Robyn about Amity. I would have just had someone bring it up, Yang and Blake try to justify what they did, and then everyone just glares at them. No shouting, no arguing, just cold glares telling the two of them they messed up. Imagine how heart wrenching (but a little badass) it would be if Yang tried to get Ruby to agree, only for her little sister to shut her down and go into leader mode, not wanting to hear Yang explain how she and Blake broke her's, Weiss, and Team JNPRr's trust. Imagine Blake and Yang seeing that, while their hearts where in the right place, their actions had personal consequences. The amount of drama and tension would have been soul crushing, but so reliving when they reunite back at the mansion and get to have a proper talk. (Sorry that I keep bringing this up. I'm a little hyper on sugar at the moment)
Nah, nah, it's cool.
Rewriting Volume 8, though... It could be written better. Starting off at right about... "Worst Case Scenario". Right after Ironwood gives the order to capture Robyn Hill and Tyrian Callows, we cut to Blake and Yang talking about whether or not they should have told Ironwood about what they learned about Salem. Yang says that he should know because he deserves to know what he's getting himself into, "like we all did". Blake argues that Ironwood would just overreact, like he's doing now with his plans for martial law, to which Yang agrees, but mostly because there's not a lot of good options for their current situation. And then...
Oh... Oh god dam- MOTHER FUCKER! THEY DID REFERENCE ADAM! Fucking- AGH! THIS is your attempt at giving us closure about them murdering Adam?! Just vaguely referencing what happened in Seeing Red?! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Anyways, Yang then comes up with the idea to not ambush Robyn. When they finally catch up to her, they try to reason that Ironwood already knows about the supplies missing and how he plans on sending more than "just a couple of kids". Robyn then shows off her semblance, natural lie detector that she is, and learns that Ironwood is using the Amity Colosseum to build a new communication tower.
They then discuss what Ironwood is trying to accomplish with all this secrecy, and to be honest, I can't argue with his logic. Salem is coming to Atlas, as evident by the presence of Tyrian Callows, who Ironwood knows is in her inner circle. Trust is a big part of the Atlas arc, and Ironwood can't trust anybody but himself. Enacting martial law would give him a tighter grip on control on the kingdom, allowing him to personally redirect resources and manpower wherever without any civilian or rebel interference. And what would happen if everyone knew about Amity Colosseum being used this way? Well, Tyrian is going to go on another killing spree until there's enough Grimm there to prevent ANY construction. Salem is playing a game where she has every advantage.
But back to Yang and Blake telling everyone everything, it's shortly after this that player three enters the chat. Knock, knock, who's there?
It's HER... with HER.
These two menaces show up and drive the schism even further after Ironwood decides to tell everyone about Salem. Unfortunately, even after collaborating with Robyn Hill on this, he becomes injured fighting Arthur Watts and orders martial law to be enacted, resulting in THE DUMBEST FIGHT IN RWBY HISTORY! ...But I digress. Anyway, Ironwood can't trust anyone anymore and, in his defense, he didn't think to ask Robyn if she or anyone she knew was working with Salem. Not accusing her of it, but I still feel like if you're paranoid to think that anyone could be working with Salem, you'd start having a woman who can get you an honest answer on your staff ASAP. Then Ironwood makes his plan known after Salem makes her presence known, and Team RWBY stand together when Ironwood makes the decision to raise Atlas into the sky. Team RWBY stand against him, leading us to probably the second-best fight of V7 (if it's war that you want, then you got it! If it's pain, then I've brought what you need! If it's true what they say, that you're the best, then let's play!). Ruby quickly lets JNR and Oscar know before martial law is established and the group becomes public enemy number one.
But hold on! When does Ruby and Yang start yelling at each other? When do we get to an actual answer to the ask? Well, I guess it comes in the next Volume, right after a word from our sponsors!
And we're back! Welcome to V8, where we can finally have the answer to the question of "How should Ruby have reacted?" First, real quick, here's why she didn't respond before; General Ironwood dropped the bigger truth bomb, and Salem dropped the biggest truth bomb by saying "Your mother."
Honestly, we were about to get a Ruby v. Yang matchup until Ren stepped in to remind everyone that the plot is happening, and he just wants to get this Volume over with already. Straight from "Divide":
Yang: What you’re saying is it can’t be done. It’s pointless. And even if you got the message out, there’s no guarantee help would come. Ruby becomes annoyed while Yang speaks. Ruby: It’s not pointless! Atlas is only Salem’s current target. She’s not hiding anymore and once she’s done here she’ll move on to the rest of Remnant. We need to warn them! Yang stands in silence for a moment. Yang: Ruby… when we came here, we said we’d follow your lead… but... things haven’t exactly worked out. Ruby recoils somewhat with a mix of emotions on her face. Yang’s statement elicits various reactions from Weiss, Nora, Oscar and Penny, as well. Yang: I just-- Ren steps forward, interrupting Yang. Ren: There are people here who need us right now.
And again, I reiterate, ad nauseum, RWBY focuses too much on the plot to let their characters be themselves. That's why we never got a beach episode. If the plot WASN'T happening so much, we'd probably get a scene like this...
Yang: I just- Ruby steps closer. Ruby: You just what? You just thought you'd go off on your own behind our backs? Do things without telling us? Yang huffs, narrowing her eyes at Ruby. Yang: You're not the boss of me, Ruby. Ruby: I'm your leader! I am EXACTLY your boss! Yang: You don't to make my decisions for me! Ruby: After everything you just did, as your leader, clearly, I do! Blake steps closer to Yang and Weiss steps closer to Ruby. Yang then raises her hand to Ruby's hood, her eyes flashing red for a moment before she softens and lowers her hand. She then walks away to lean against the wall. Yang: Yeah... Okay... Whatever you say, miss "leader". Weiss and Blake let out sighs and relax a bit, though Ruby does cast a glare at Blake for a moment, making her flinch. Ruby then walks away, as distant to Yang as she could. Ren then steps closer, looking uncomfortable as he glances between the feuding sisters. Ren: ...So, uh, what should we do now?
AAAAAND scene! How's that? This also sets up for Blake and Ruby apologizing later in their episode of infiltrating AND sets up for a much more touching reunion between Yang and Ruby!
Rereading this, I decided to look into if one of my biggest gripes with this season holds water. Here is a screen shot of the transcript
So yes, Yang sort of apologized. At least for the Mantle part. Now if she actually directly apologized for how she and Blake went behind their backs, we would be good.
I do like how they address the shit-show they're in, though, yes, I agree that the REST of it should have been addressed as well. Another gripe of mine with RWBY, along with pretty much everyone else, is the lack of consequence. That said, it's pretty clear the only two free of any consequences are Blake and Yang, because they're the writer's favorite while Ruby kept getting worse and worse and worse consequences as the Volume went on.
Innocents died because of her plan. Penny died because of her plan. And now everyone is going to die because of her plan. All while Blake and Yang get to make goo-goo eyes with each other and get nothing bad ever happening to them.
Probably the a problem about Yang and Blake telling Robyn about Amity that i don't see talked about a lot is that... it's practically useless. Cool Robyn now knows it's going to be a CCT tower, but how does that help Robyn anyway? She got more questions than answers with that information. How was that supposed to convince Robyn to stop robbing trucks? She already knew the supplies were going to Amity, this doesn't change a thing.
Oh and Yang and Blake do get called out, the problem is that the person is being treated as being in the wrong. Case in point being Ren calling Yang out and EVERYTHING he says being correct, but the show treats him as being in the wrong. Yang literally says if his goal is to push everyone away when she's literally the only one of her team there.
Every Night
10 yo Jaune: I can't wait for the sleepover tonight.
Yang: It's gonna be awesome!
Ruby: Dad let us get pizza and sodas!
Jaune: Awesome!
Ruby: We're going to have the best sleepover ever!
Yang: I wish we could have a sleepover every night.
Jaune: Me too. My dad actually said that your dad could have me if he wanted.
RY: ...
RY: Dad! Jaune's dad is being mean again!
Taiyang: You know what means!
RY: Roadtrip!
Jaune: So, for the wedding.
Jaune: There are some Arc traditions we're going to have to do.
Jaune: It's nothing too bad. My mom is making us this special wedding bread.
Jaune: Also, we'll have to do daddy-daughter and mother-son duels with our parents.
Jaune: Yeah I know it's kind of weird. Yes we also do the dances.
Jaune: Also, you should probably try to win. Cause I'm not beating my mom and you're not going to like what we have to do if we both lose.
(Insert your Jaune OTP I guess)
(Also, if the character you want to use doesn't have living parents and/or huntsmen parents, you can sub them out for a parental figure or just Jaune's parents.)
Roman:...Why are you staring at me?
Neo:-_-
Roman: First of all, I'm flattered.
Neo: :)
Roman: Second of all, NO WAY! I'm not getting my ass kicked in front of these twerps!
Neo: T_T
Roman: Ok fine. But i can pickpocket people at the reception!
Say My Name
Jaune: Come on, say it.
Arc Baby: D... d... d...
Jaune: Come on, say "daddy".
Arc Baby: Da... Da... Da!
Jaune: Almost there!
Arc Baby: Vomit Boy!
Jaune: ...
(Insert your Jaune OTP here)
Jaune: Neo, put down the umbrella.
Neo: *pouts, but then smirks*
Jaune: *sighs*
(Later)
Summer: Yang, my sweet little dragon, my daughter, im so proud of you and i love you.
Yang: *passed out at the first word*
Jaune: Good thing Ruby wasn't here...
The White Fang
What is your opinion on the White Fang plotline of RWBY? What are some things you think they did well and some that they did poorly? What things would you change?
(Please try to keep it civil)
Not show that theres some reasoning behind people joining or not wanting to join the fight in Mistral.
We are always told that lives for Faunus are difficult in the kingdoms, especially in Atlas, but aside from Cardin pulling Velvet ears and some signs in Mistral, we don't really see that.
By not showing us the Faunus struggling, it makes the White Fang look even worse than it should be.
And this even apply to some characters like Adam, whereas we get his scar and backstory way too late, the latter being from a mobile game, and it makes him even more of a one-note villain.
Take Ilia for example. In the V5 short, we get her backstory, of her disdain for humans and why she joined the White Fang, which adds more depth and emotion to her fight against Blake.
If we had that for the rest of the Faunus, it would also add depth to the White Fang radical side of the group, but without that, it just makes them look like a bunch of criminals, which ironically, was Weiss opinion of them in V1.
Kwami Swap Day 3, this time with Sublime and the sublime horse miraculous! I actually found it pretty difficult to find a miraculous that fit Sublime, but I finalized the horse due to her being an athlete that specializes in running. She was pretty fun to design, and I got to focus on more athletic wear! Her prosthetics were a pain to draw, but I feel they came out pretty well! Who should I do next?
On one hand, she would probably be found out right away. On the other hand, I'm picturing Gabriel going 'No that's what she WANTS me to think. It's so obvious that it must be a trap of some sorts!'
Confession #835
They could have made it into an actual thing.
Ruby could no longer glee like that because she believes leaders shouldn't do that.
Weiss loses her backtalk because she doesn't want to risk losing the first friends she ever made or that she's afraid if she backtalks, she'll get smacked.
Blake is no longer so insistent on change because she knows there are other doing things, like her parents.
Yang being aggressive could have been a side effect from losing to Adam because now she thinks people see her as fragile.
CRWBY: Blake leaves to protect her friends from the White Fang!
Me: That's great angst fodder! She did something bad, but she has noble intentions, even though they're still kind of selfish.
CRWBY: Ruby and Weiss will automatically forgive her, and Yang will help her kill Adam to prove Blake won't run away anymore!
Me: ...WHAT?
CRWBY: Also we're going to heavily focus on Yang and Blake's relationship and not have them develop any growth for the next three Volumes.
Me: ...
WHAT?!
She didn't even "come back" per se.
The RWY reactions made me think they thought "Blake came back", but no. They just happened to be at the same place at the same time. Blake did not waste any time thinking about the rest of her team once the shit on Menagerie started.
I mean, to be fair, when a domestic terrorist organization starts coming after you, you don't really have a lot of time to think about anything else.
Well, Weiss returned to Atlas and while it was against her will, she might feel some guilt and think she has no reason to be mad at Blake when she basically did the same thing.
And Ruby also technically did the same thing as Blake. Considering what Oobleck says, Tai didn't hear from Ruby for a while. And a letter isn't really better than leaving without saying.
It's Here
Weiss: *Very pregnant* I'll go fetch the tea.
Jaune: Let me do it.
Weiss: No no, I need to move around a little. I'm doing so much sitting down I think my joints are going to lock up if they don't get any use.
Jaune: Okay, just be careful.
Weiss: I will...
...
...
CRASH!!!
Jaune: Weiss! Are you okay?
Weiss: *Leaning against the counter* I-I think it's coming.
Jaune: The tea?
Weiss: No, my sweet, darling, loving husband.
Weiss: *Deep breath*
Weiss: THE BABY!!!
Jaune grabs his scroll and pushes the emergency button that calls all their friends.
Jaune: Guys it’s happening right now! This is not a drill!
Ruby: I can’t believe Salem somehow return.
Yang: We beat her before and we can do it again.
Jaune: What are you guys talking about!? Weiss is giving birth now!
Nora: You heard the man! Everyone grab your hospital bags, this is what Jaune has been training us for!!!
Yang: I mean, is there a difference? Cold woman with white hair whose wrath a knight had to endure?
Weiss: XIAO LONG, WHEN THIS BABY'S HEAD IS OUT OF ME, I'M GONNA SHOVE YOUR HEAD IN SOMEWHERE DARK!
