If you go back in my archive, you'll find paintings (a couple of years ago? A few? Several? Many? Idk any more.). Artblock hit me hard however.

I filled the days with crocheting plushies. Which led to needle felting plushies. One day I  wondered, wool in hand, can I spin this into yarn?

And down the rabbit hole we go. Spinning led to knitting. And here we are. Welcome.

Some days the studio is full of color and wool and dye pots.

Some days the lake calls instead.

Today was a little bit of both.

Oli had a swim, retrieved approximately one million sticks, and then came home to supervise the growing mountain of wool waiting in the studio.

I am completely exhausted in the best possible way.

The wool will still be here tomorrow.

I'm getting the hang of support spindling! Most fun you can have with 15g of Corriedale.

Finished scarf! Very laid back project to get back into the swing of things. I definitely enjoyed doing a complicated twill pattern and will be doing more in the future. It’s very soft and light but should be very warm considering it’s 1/3 alpaca and can be wrapped a whole lot.

and with that all out of the way, time to start spindle #2 of this project

oh I do not like this spindle shaft, it is too long and too slick, so I’m going to try to fix that

sandpaper and saw to the rescue indeed!

The length is much improved! Still needs a couple more sanding passes but I’m pretty happy so far.

Working on some hand dyed cheviot wool braids, from Waratah Fibres. The purple braid is finished now, going to finish the yellow and then ply them both as 2ply from centre pull balls.

Love the colour combo, but not sure what they're destined for yet
