THINGS ABOUT MY “GOLDEN A” GANG OUTSIDERS/TWTTIS AU!
*Warning that in my au the greasers and socs don’t really know of Charlies Bar!*
Ponyboy Curtis likes to sneak out, it’s a common occurrence for when he has to do things he doesn’t want the others to know about. Sometimes if he thinks he can get away with it he’ll ask Darry if he can go to the library or park. (Darry almost always gives in without noticing)
As mentioned in a previous post Ponyboy uses the Pavlov method to his advantage regularly. If any of you don’t know what that is, it’s basically a form of physiologically conditioning the mind. He does the extremely often with the main Outsiders gang, even Darry and sometimes Steve.
Ponyboy is the leader of the Golden A gang, if you don’t know of the golden A gang then you will likely mistake the gang leader to be Curly or Mark. Nope he’s the gang leader even if he’s one of the youngest besides M&M.
Ponyboy carries two different switchblades, he keeps one in his pocket and another in his shoe, the way the Golden gang found out about it was once when he took off his shoes and it fell out. They know all carry one in their shoes as well.
His hair grows out incredibly fast, always has so it’s cut around every two weeks. He ends up letting it get long then anyone in either of his gangs, his is past his shoulders quite a bit more then most and he still bleaches it much to Sodapop’s dismay.
Curly was the one who explained the hood gangs to Ponyboy, he knew Darry Curtis would never and he knew a lot because his brother Tim is a gang leader, he was honestly so proud when Ponyboy soaked it up as fast as a sponge.
Curly was the first to realize that Ponyboy had started a gang and was honestly surprised Ponyboy knew some of the people he did, including Mark who he hated at first and now has a small rivalry with, nothing too serious.
He was actually very nervous the first time he asked Ponyboy to deal with him, he didn’t learn until later but Ponyboy was only nervous because normally Ponyboy had only ever sold with Mark, he didn’t know how Curly would act, this made Curly think that Ponyboy was a nervous kid, he technically wasn’t wrong.
Curly often finds M&M hanging around Charlies and jumps him, he only stopped doing this because Charlie caught him and threatened them with Ponyboy. (Charlies turn will explain)
Curly was the one who made the joke that gave them the name “The Golden A” gang, he hadn’t meant to do it but it stuck with them and so they embraced it.
Yes he’s purple, deal with it. Haha, get the joke?
Mark is the biggest dealer of their group, he’s the one who organizes things around their territory which happens to simply be the place around Charlies Bar (that will be explained on Charlies part.) Including who usually deals what.
Mark is the biggest Ponyboy lover, Ponyboy is the only one who can give him commands he’ll listen to. Honestly it makes perfect sense to the gang that if Ponyboy can make Mark listen then yes Ponyboy is the leader.
Mark has at least three ear piercings, he asked Charlie to do his first one but Charlie refused to do so. This had consequences because Mark then did it himself and it got infected, Charlie now does them because he knows Mark is stupid enough to do it himself again just to make Charlie worry.
Mark is never caught for murders, the only ones who know about it are Ponyboy and M&M, he’s told to keep the killing to himself though and not get caught, makes sense to him, not that he ever will be.
Mark is worse than M&M with candy, it’s one of the reasons he likes M&M, he’s more into chocolate. Scout one time called him Coco for it and Mark glared and he held a grudge.
Scout is known as the one who memorizes everything she can about a person, she knows everything down to their blood type if she can, it’s helped many times.
Scout will only take drugs from Curly whenever Mark pisses her off, if Curly is the one to piss her off she is kneeing him in the dick. She may be a woman but this doesn’t make the gang any less rough with her, she’s tuff and they know it.
Scout hangs a lot with M&M if Curly is giving him shit, it doesn’t happen often after a few months from when the gang was formed because Ponyboy has helped but from time to time it happens, she gets his m&m’s.
She will often have a notebook with her, many assume there is a bunch of stuff in it, however the only things in there are on the last ten pages, full of drawings, it also doubles as a weapon for her to use even if she carries switchblades on her.
All three switch blades she has were gifted by others of the gang. She has a beautiful blue one from Ponyboy, a deep black one from M&M, and a red one from Cherry.
Cherry of all of them has the deepest southern accent, it’s heavy and can demand attention whenever she needs, she’s normally a witty but soft spoken person with those she cares about, making her voice much more disturbing when mad.
She was actually one of the last to join despite knowing him longer than people like Mark and M&M. She was more hesitant after the death of Bob but did come around to caring once she saw how they acted.
She may be the rich one of the group but knows not use the money to fund the gang, the gang mainly funds off the drug dealings that the dealers and she won’t stop this. Unless it’s food because then she’s paying and no one is saying no to that.
Only one with even a sense of fashion taste, she often comments on how one to many of them look emo, it doesn’t change anything and she just excepts it.
Cherry isn’t a big physical fighter, it’s simply not for her but Charlie did teach her a few tricks that she now uses if she thinks the need arises. She doesn’t go to his bar often but that was one of the only useful things that came out of it in her opinion.
M&M is the kid of their group, he was taken under the wing of Ponyboy who considers him as his kid brother, m&m is grateful for this and even more so when Ponyboy protects him from Curly,
He has the habit of sorting his m&m’s by color, he does this a lot and has started to associate each color as one of the Golden gang’s members.
M&M likes to keep everything organized and has undiagnosed OCD, this ends up helping the gang on several occasions because his mind has memorized so many patterns and what needs to stay unchanged, he’s encouraged to use it by his gang as a weapon rather then an illness.
He knows how to use guns, he never has used one but knows exactly how to, it’s just something he’s seen so many times that it’s engrained even if guns scare him, Curly calls him little bullet as a joke and insult but to those outside the gang it seems like a nickname of power.
Doesn’t go to drug deals, he simply refuses to. If he’s at any at all it’s because one of the gang started selling because they saw an opportunity and it always silently annoys him, he learns to tolerate it.
Angela is the member of the gang who knows the good spots of the forests, ones that are abandoned but mainly flat and clear, she even convinced the gang to help them build a small area in the woods with a cabin that took an entire month to make because Curly tried setting the wood on fire.
She has vertigo and it gets her looks of judgment from others, it never bothers her because she knows she’s hot as shit anyway and can still pull bitches and blokes alike.
Angela is referred to as Angie by Ponyboy and Curly both, M&M calls her Angela, Charlie often refers to her as Shepherd, and the rest call her Angel. She doesn’t mind any of the names.
Normally looks over Ponyboy’s shoulder to see what he’s reading, it’s often gore or something thriller, she can’t say she’s surprised.
If Byron or Cherry isn’t driving she does it, she knows Ponyboy and M&M don’t drive and doesn’t trust the others behind the wheel. Especially if it’s her brother.
Charlie learned how to pierce when he was twenty, it was something he was interested in for a few months and in that time he even learned how to do simple tattoos.
Charlie already dealt with Mark and Curly being stupid often before he met the Golden A gang, he didn’t like them at his bar but started to let them more after they started bringing Ponyboy who he saw actually keep them in line.
He was not impressed nor happy when a full gang of kids started coming to his bar but genuinely developed a fondness for them all and made sure one of them was always sober before they left. When there wasn’t one he would tell them to stay after closing and then drive them all home.
When Cherry joined the gang he recognized and immediately clocked her as a soc, he was suspicious for a good while.
He gives Ponyboy and sometimes the entire gang free drinks. This led to them coming around much more and eventually claiming the bar as their gang spot, he accepts it if it means looking after those idiot kids.
Tim started noticing the difference in his brother about a month into the Golden A gang existing, he noticed his brother sneaking out more, being much more calm, and most suspiciously having even more money.
He confronted Curly at one point because this amount of changes so fast was weird, especially seeing Curly sober during the day and even at school more. Curly didn’t tell Tim but Tim started suspecting that Curly has hanging out with a new crowd.
When Tim found out he was understandably pissed, especially because he learned Mark was apart of the group because Mark was supposed to be competition.
He became more accepting over time because for once Curly was actually getting better, and even his grades were improving which surprised him, he also knew that was strange because the gang was made out of crazy hoods covered in piercings and Carried so many weapons. He face palmed when Angela joined.
He was 100% not expecting to learn Ponyboy Curtis of all people was the leader of such a gang, it was understandable because Ponyboy Curtis was known as the innocent Kid brother of Darrel Curtis and surely Darry wouldn’t have allowed it. Tim doesn’t tell Darry anything.
Bryon isn’t part of the gang but he knows of it. He wanted to call the cops on his younger brother but was threatened into silence.
He’s definitely influenced over time, it ends up being Ponyboy’s fault. After getting more integrated into the hood lifestyle because of Ponyboy accidentally and Mark it becomes slightly more normal and honestly isn’t that bad to him as it used to.
