Survey Finds That 93% Of Gay Men Don't Want To Be Labeled "QUEER"

A recent survey done by the website The Gay UK has found that 60% of those polled find using the term “Queer” to describe members of the LGBT community is offensive and inappropriate.

Shockingly, people who are likely to have actually had the term used as a slur against them aren’t fans of it being used to describe them.

Okay, explain what ‘feminist satire’ is then because what I see people actually saying is that these pieces of media are engaging and are more than fetish bait and do a better job of portraying empowerment and female characters than actual feminism.

If you actually read the OP’s blog, that’s precisely what they have a problem with.

They have a problem with, for example, Momo from BNHA for similar reasons, apparently, because if you even browse their blog and look for things like KLK, you find this shit.

Nobody is saying it’s satire, holy shit.  That’s not what SATIRE actually means.

What people are saying is that these games have better portrayals of women, of powerful women, and more engaging stories than any feminist tripe that gets thrown into the ring.

And I’m not the one projecting my own arousal at the Ragyo rape scene on to others.  You’re the one claiming it was designed to be sexually arousing, which speaks WORLD about what you actually think about it.

Nobody arguing for KLK or Nier or Bayonetta is saying art needs to be moral.  They’re saying that these mediums HAVE a moral, a message or otherwise are just engaging, regardless of any fanservice.  Because the characters of KLK or Nier or BNHA can explicitly express empowering messages while being sexually appealing, which in an of itself can be empowering to numerous women.

I didn’t consider the Ragyo bath scene arousing at all. And I say this as someone with an incest kink. It was creepy, and rapey, as fuck.  It emphasized how monstrous and twisted Ragyo as a character is, and made me incredibly sympathetic to Satsuki.  Because she grew up with that insane monster as her mother and under her authority.   I’m the kind of person, aside from someone with a rape fetish, who most likely would have misconstrued that scene or made excuses for it to be fap fuel. Instead it came across as creepy and disgusting.  The fact that it wasn’t brutal in some ways made it even worse.  Because one could infer this wasn’t the first time.

I actually read the Trigger Newsletter for Episode 16 and he made no real statement about it.

Animators have no control over the direction of a scene, they animate.

And literally none of what you said was sourced, at all.  

Also Shadman is a guy who openly flaunts everyone’s opinions of him.  Of course people are going to favorite a shitpost like that.

1.  Nobody is saying KLK is denouncing fanservice.

2.  The entire point is that the series is inherently sex positive.  It’s saying fanservice can be empowering and okay.  That isn’t some ideological statement.  It’s saying people can enjoy fanservice and women can feel empowered by looking sexy.

3.  Your context just says that Ragyo was made into a woman so that the two could fight her at their fullest.  She was changed to a woman so that there would be no conflict of emotions for Satsuki and Ryuko, having both been in a sexual relationship with a man.  

I don’t agree with it, but it could be a Japanese cultural difference.  

4.  The newsletter is the one I read.  You’re taking it out of context.  The newsletter explicitly stated that this was because they were showing stills from the bath scene, which alone were “geared toward male audiences”.  This is because the newsletter is all about sharing storyboard behind the scenes stills, not talking about the scene itself.

5.  This is the body pillow you’re talking about.  Not only is this not official merch, but Satsuki isn’t even in a rape pose.  Quit it. It’s amazing that THAT is where your mind immediately goes when you that pose and face.

I’m sorry dude, but it’s pretty clear that you’re sorta fucked up here.  

If you want to take the scene as a whole, you have fucking Blumenkranz playing over this scene, a song dedicated to how cruel and awful the world is, while Satsuki is being told how weak, scared and doomed humanity is while she’s being masturbated by her mother.

But on top of that, you have visual tricks to make the viewer uneasy.  Like showing each and every one of Ragyo’s teeth when she speaks.

But then we take the entire fucking show in context.  You have Ragyo chaining Satuski naked and spanking her to humiliate her.  You have her engaging in literal mindrape with Ryuko, also her daughter.

Every single interaction with Ragyo is showing her to be a cruel, manipulative, abusive monster.  But for THIS one scene, it’s all thrown away to be a cheesecake moment?

Yeah.  Okay, sure.

Maybe you and your friend weren’t turned off by that scene.  Maybe.  But I think that speaks a lot more about you and her than anyone else.  And maybe, I’m just hypothesizing here, why you’re so dead set on making it seem like it was meant to arouse.

1.  You claim I don’t know anything about visual storytelling and yet you don’t understand that drawing individual, non-cartoony teeth while it is nowhere else in the series is meant to be distracting.  

The style the anime was using does not emphasis individual teeth.  This is like when an anime uses a straight line for mouths and they flap open and shut, only for one scene to give them realistic lips that move organically.  It is done explicitly for emphasis.

2.  Lol, okay dude.  Sure.  Then by all means, half of the battle faces she makes must be rape faces because her ass it out and she’s gritting her teeth.  I mean it isn’t like there’s an entire genre of girl in anime that’s all about being mean and angry while secretly liking you, right?
