he probably has gone to a school for less total years than most of the kids in the class heâs ta for. This is just, incredibly funny to me, idk why.
Yeah, but like he also probably has the most experience and knowledge about the various regions a book canât give anyone. He can talk in depth about certain gym leaders fighting style and other stuff that Kukui canât teach.
So just imagine Kukui just sitting back as he lets Ash go feral on the class. Like no notes need to be taken, but can if the class wanted to, and itâs an open discussion. Ash is spitballing facts left and right while linking gym leaders to different regional Champions in some way the Professor has never even thought before.
Unknown battle strategies no one has seen in Alola and heâs somehow outsmarting Lillie and Sophocles because some of their facts the read about are outdated or just plain wrong. Because Ash has seen that Types arenât all that. Heâs seen impossible match ups over and over and the weaker side wining. Heâs been on that side over and over again, coming out on top over and over.
Kukui can teach them all the things he can academically but street wise? Actual life lessons that canât be pulled from a book thatâs a required course in the school? Thatâs all Ash.
He brings such a large amount of knowledge that no one really stops to consider just how fucking useful it is. ďżźso what if none of the class leave Alola in their entire life span. At least they have something so invaluable that no other class will learn.
Thatâs what makes Ash so useful as a TA. He gives such an outside perspective and forces both the class and everyone around him to reevaluate their life and their own thought process over and over again. Chucking shit at them left and right and just opening their eyes past whatâs just taught in Alola.
Heâs even forcing Kukui to think outside of the box so often and itâs weird how teaching just comes naturally to him, albeit there has to be some translation because Ash canât describe somethingâs all that well. ďżź
Basically it boils down to Ash teaching everyone around him shit they just canât learn in schools. Lessons that transgress bast books and homework and into real life. Heâs basically taking teaching in general to a whole new level.
So when Kukui gets interested, or annoyed whatever floats your boat, with all of Ashâs little comments or facts during class. He lets Ash teach for the first time. Sitting at his desk and watching in growing awe as Ash shatters his students minds in the first five minutes and repeatedly doing so over and over again. Getting them involved with questions and debates as he flutters about the chalkboard with pictures heâs printed out just for this occasion.

It doesnât help Ben have to be about Pokemon or battling. Ash can probably give detailed lessons over what wild herb or berry is okay to eat and how to do basic survival skills or extensive-ish lessons on bandaging wounds and how to heal. To use their surroundings outside of battle for living and just... be in a sense.
Just... I canât explain in the right way with words how amazing this Au can be.
