So I got an idea for a roleplay server in Minecraft. So Pokémon? Imagine if you could be a trainer or a Pokémon. Like Pokéballs could be houses for Pokémon. Trainers could actually feel like they’re training Pokémon. Behavior problems from your pokemon. Being able to accessorize or style your Pokémon’s hair. Gods it would be fun.

Like there be rules like for Pokémon while they can choose their species to evolve you have to work for it.

Fun stuff like that. Is that a good idea or trash?

Summary: After getting in the Pillar of Heaven, the cycle end and MK cannot go back home. With the help of Nuwa and the color stone, he was send to the next cycle so he could live a new life without the burden of being the harbinger of chaos. Okay, HTTYD fandom I’m coming for you.

I want an au where the gang were always friends. Like, they grew up to be just as tight-nit as they are in RTTE, but because of reasons they hide the fact that they’re friends with Hiccup from the adults. Why do I think this could work?

Well:

Hiccup by nature is very forgiving, so when all his friends come to him and say they can’t be friends in public because of one reason or another, he sympathizes, as long as they’re still friends, he doesn’t really care.

Snotlout is the first in the group to start drifting away, and they all ask him why

Spitelout doesn’t like that his son is hanging around Hiccup when he’s so unviking-like

He pressures Snotlout to cut ties with his cousin and to start putting him down for not living up to “what he should”

This backfires

Baby-lout hasn’t yet had the time to really internalize his father’s teachings, so when his friends ask, he tearfully tells them

Most of the group is furious, but Hiccup understands

If it had just been up to him the group probably would’ve disbanded then and there

Lucky for him it wasn’t

They figure that if Spitelout doesn’t want them to friends then they won’t… in public

In private is a different story

In public they treat it like a game, to taunt each other and be as sarcastic as possible

But when they’re alone they let their guard down

The next one to go, surprisingly, is Astrid

After her uncle died her family’s reputation takes a dive

At first, the fact that she’s friends with the chief’s son is a good thing, but as time goes on and he doesn’t grow, her parents start getting pressure, and Astrid, not being as young anymore, feels it, too

Astrid’s extremely conflicted, because on the one hand she doesn’t want to abandon Hiccup, let alone insult him in front of the village like Snotlout

But on the other, she needs to restore her family’s honor

So they come up with Astrid’s cover: in public she’ll distance herself from all of them, working hard to be a shield-maiden, only being a part of the group in an orbit-sort of way

She grows into ignoring Hiccup in public because if she doesn’t she’s going to take the head off the next person who insults him

For Fishlegs and the Twins, there’s no specific moment that they start to distance themselves in public

Overtime, the twins become more destructive and so does Hiccup, so being seen together is a no-go

Fishlegs is growing evermore into the scholar and is completely uninterested in fighting, to the point where, if it wasn’t for his stature, he’d be in the same boat as Hiccup (if less magnified, because he’s not the Chief’s son)

So they all “grow apart” into the roles we see in the first movie, with some noticeable differences

They sit together in the great hall, but to anyone casually observing Hiccup’s excluded from the conversation

In actuality, Hiccup and Fishlegs came up with their own little version of sign language which Astrid forced everyone to learn, though some are more fluent than others (Tuffnut is surprising good at it, but Snotlout’s lucky to understand a full sentence)

Astrid still trains extra in the forest, but usually you can find the rest of the group somewhere nearby doing their own thing, if they’re not needed elsewhere

Similarly, because they hang out around her while she trains, she manages to bully at least Hiccup and Fishlegs into being at least passable with one weapon (sword and hammer)

Snotlout still flirts with Astrid, but it’s far more joking and well timed than in canon (of course he still has a crush on her, she’s Astrid, but he also flirts with her to escape that weird fluttery feeling he gets when Fishlegs gets excited about the book he’s reading)

The twins outward behavior doesn’t change as much as their friends’ perception of them

The group is very aware that the twins are far smarter and more capable than they let on, and are aware that a lot of their chaos is carefully planned and not just violent stupidity like the rest of the village might assume

The gang even joins in a lot, the twins made them far more mischievous than they let anyone know

Due to the closeness to Astrid, Ruffnut is far more willing to be serious about training and other things, even if she still tries to downplay it

In reverse, Astrid is far more willing to chill the fuck out and have some fun, let her creativity take the lead, even if she’s very strict about keeping a mask in public

This is getting really long and repetitive so I’m just going to leave a few more thoughts

Fishlegs is far more confident and courageous because of his friends, but he’s still skittish in public

Hiccup is far less he’ll-bent on proving himself, but he’s still a sarcastic insane inventor so the results are pretty much the same he’s just happier (less lonely and lacking self-esteem)

Snotlout and Astrid are more comfortable with their emotions

Snotlout has less self-image problems (still-there though, fuck Spitelout)

When Hiccup says he shot down a Night Fury, they can tell he’s telling the truth, but they don’t have time to search with him that day, so he still meets Toothless the same

They plan to work together come dragon training, but Toothless kinda throws a wrench in that plan

Hiccup tries to keep him secret, but they know him, so when the Zippleback thing happens, he stands no chance

I have a lot more ideas but this so long

SIDENOTE HERE BECAUSE HOLY SHIT.  They did an experiment where these guys wore masks and some of them fucked with crows.  Pretty soon the crows recognized the masks = douchebag.  But the nice guys with masks they left alone.  THEN, OH WE’RE NOT DONE, NO SIR crows that WEREN’T EVEN IN THE EXPERIMENT AND NEVER SAW THE MASK BEFORE knew about mask-dudes and attacked them on sight.  THEY PASSED ON THE FUCKING INFORMATION TO THEIR CROW BUDDIES.

They remember places where crows were killed by farmers and change their migration patterns.

A colleague of my dad’s lives next to a lake, and looked out the window one morning to see a duck trapped in the ice. A crow swooped down. “Oh hell,” she thought, expecting carnage, because crows are opportunists. But the crow chipped at the ice with its beak until the duck was free.

I love crows so damn much. When I was fifteen, I hit a pretty serious bout of depression, to the point I was in my room for months. Well, a family of crows made a nest in a tree outside my window. There were two parents and two chicks. One chick was healthy and strong. One was weak, and had a caw like something being strained. It sounded more like a rooster crowing and so my parents jokingly named him ‘Buck’.Well… months passed and Buck’s sibling was taught to fly. His parents focused on the sibling because the sibling was strong. The father stayed behind to try and teach Buck, but I saw him try to fly, fail, and crash to the floor. His father helped him back up into the tree.

Every day, I would watch Buck from my window until one day I opened it and started talking to him. He was small and gangly and he couldn’t caw right. His feathers were all over the place and I felt a kinship. So I made a deal with him. I told him that if he could do it, if he could fly, then I could find the strength to get up. Well… near the end of the season, after talking with him every day, I finally saw him get out of the nest. He went to the edge of his branch, braced himself, and jumped… and just before he hit the ground, he soared back up into the sky. I cheered harder than I ever had before.

That winter, Buck left the area. I was crestfallen. I felt like I’d lost a friend. But I was so damn proud of him. 

Cut to the next spring? I’m walking up the driveway one day when suddenly I hear a sound… a broken caw. I look up, and Buck is sitting in a tree above my head. He stared at me and puffed his feathers, then hopped down in front of me and cawed again. I was so damn thrilled, and I told him how proud I was of him. He ruffled his feathers and then soared off into his old tree. 

That summer? I heard two broken caws. One from Buck… and one from his chick.

Cut to ten years later? We have a family of crows who all have a very distinct caw and they come here and spend every spring, summer, and fall on our property. Buck still greets me every spring.

this one morning i kept hearing really loud caws, i remember it was like 5am, LIKE REALLY LOUD AND ANNOYING AND AGGRESSIVE, so loud that i could hear it through a closed window, and i eventually went outside to check it out. there was a crow on my front lawn, it had an injury on its head and couldn’t fly and there were two other crows circling right above it, and they were cawing like mad. 

i tried to get close and take a better look and one of them dived super low and tried to attack me. so i went back in the house and chopped some sliced raw meat and tossed it at him from a distance.

a few more times later, very soon after, they could tell i was trying to help, and did not attack me. i was “allowed” to walk up close and pick him up, he couldn’t drink water properly so i had to dip my finger in a bowl and stick it in his mouth.

i did this few times a day and it went on for about a week before he disappeared, i thought he recovered and left, but he came back the next day and lands on me, and i see him around the block quite often, and he would come sit on my shoulder for a few minutes and then fly away again. i feel like i’ve adopted a son.

Like, I wouldn’t want to be on bad terms with a crow, but they are a really smart animal, they aren’t scary You just want to be nice to them because they will know and they will remember, and they will pay you back if you treat them a certain way.

As a side note, I volunteered at a rehab (Hope for Wildlife), where they were rehabbing a crow with a broken wing–who was named Russell Crow. He kept pulling his bandage off so a sleeve was cut off some old clothing and put on him like a little sweater.

Abandoned Baby Yue AU

Otherwise known as the AU where Yue is left at FFM's doorstep as if the island paradise is a fire station and Macaque tries and fails to beat baby daddy allegations. Initially starts as a fluffy domestic au with romantic pining on the side but quickly devolves into a messy telenovela once Iceflower enters the picture. @treebranches206 I blame you for starting this. @letsallbecalmchaps I blame you for enabling me and helping me brainstorm the details of this AU.

The General Idea:

Sangshen decides (after Yue's birth and hearing confirmation that she isn't long for this world) that her daughter isn't safe in the Zodiac Monkey Clan, so - with Shanzha's help - she takes an artifact and sends baby Yue away.

The artifact leaves baby Yue at FFM where she's found by Beng and is promptly handed over to her presumed father: Macaque.

While he's NOT the father, Macaque steps up and accepts single-fatherhood.

Wukong steps up too. As his best friend (Mm-hmm, sure Jan.)

Shadowpeach:

For five years, Macaque and Wukong tackle fatherhood together and give Yue the best first five years of her life. They easily fall into this domestic pattern as they raise their little girl though they never really acknowledge how blatantly they're jump-roping the line between a platonic (only because both are in denial) and romantic relationship.

At Yue's fifth year, a snow monkey and a familiar face come to FFM's shores and upturn everything.

Iceflower:

Shanzha leaves LoES to find her niece after Sangshen's death but struggles finding her. The artifact didn't accept specific locations, so Sangshen and Shanzha decided on "somewhere warm, safe, kind, and a monkey colony." Unfortunately, Shanzha doesn't know any monkey colonies.

With another artifact (which she stole from the Zodiac Monkey Clan before going sayonara, suckers), she revives a dead soul who could act as a guide: RinRin

RinRin, in fact, knows a perfect place to start and even has an in with the king there, so the two set off to FFM. RinRin tries to convince Shanzha that she's a concerned and selfless soul. Shanzha sees right through her and calls her out on being in it for her own survival and nothing else.

Despite some hiccups and differences, Shanzha and RinRin bond and fall in love during the quest (two girls, chilling in a quest, no feet apart 'cause they're so gay.)

During their travels, the two bump into an old monkey couple - a Baboon and a Gibbon - who ask for directions to LoES:

Gibbon: Where are you traveling? Shanzha: My baby niece has been teleported away to an unknown monkey colony. We're questing to find them. Also, don't go to LoES, the people there would let you freeze and rob your corpse Baboon: … Got room for two more on that quest?

And so, two more members join the party. Baboon takes one look at RinRin and knows that she's cheating death. He eventually teaches her how to remain in the mortal coil permanently without relying on the artifact.

The romantic tension between Shanzha and RinRin eventually does bubble over. The hot springs incident happens without the hot springs (more like near a river? idk) but no meaningful conversation happens and no "I love you's" were exchanged, which leaves Shanzha a little insecure about their relationship. There isn't even a clear label.

Shanzha's worst fears are realized when the entire group finally reaches FFM and she learns that RinRin is the king's wife.

The Drama:

Wukong and RinRin have their dramatic reunion, breaking both Macaque and Shanzha's hearts. What chance does their situationship have on an actual marriage?

Like Macaque, everyone pretty much thinks that Shanzha is Yue's mother and she is labeled as a dead-beat mom and a homewrecker of both Wukong and RinRin's marriage and Wukong and Macaque's maybe-relationship.

Shanzha turns extremely cold with RinRin at this point. She was never made aware that RinRin was a married woman and felt tricked and used.

Jealous, bitter, dramatic, and extremely sympathetic to Shanzha's situation, Macaque decides that if everyone is going to assume that Shanzha is his baby mama, he's going to actually do right by her. So he takes her and Yue (and Gibbon and Baboon) and moves out. He builds them all a livable hut outside of Waterfall Curtain Cave in the forest.

Initially, both leaned hard on the "mom and dad" allegations out of spite but found that they genuinely enjoyed each other's company and cherished each other's emotional support.

Meanwhile, Wukong and RinRin are currently in the middle of making a divorce happen because - surprise, surprise - death doesn't actually mean you part (in marriage) document-wise. When they realized Macaque and Shanzha misunderstood, the two were already moved out and moved into the hut. (Wukong hates the hut. It's homey, well-decorated, and puts Macaque in close quarters with the mother of his child.)

Wukong and RinRin are free to visit the hut anytime. Macaque and Shanzha just refuse to return to the palace. They need the peace and the space. Doesn't matter how much FFM monkeys apologize and beg for them to come back, they're staying in the hut.

Yue, meanwhile, is happy to see her auntie again! A familiar scent! And she gets funny grandparents who watch over her and play with her whenever "Mama" and "Nana" are busy making their vacation home bigger and nicer or speaking with "Baba" and "Rinnie".

Azure, unexpectedly (or expectedly) becomes a source of support for Macaque and Shanzha when he hears about them moving out together.

Azure @ Macaque and Shanzha: Just know that I am very sympathetic to your plight and I wish only happiness for the both of you Macaque: Sounds fake but okay

But, by supporting this, Azure accidentally gets on Wukong's bad side and RinRin (who's NOT a fan of Azure) purposefully twists whatever defense the lion has to make him look worse.

Wukong: Oh, so you're on HER side now! I see how it is! Azure: I'm just thinking of the baby! The parents need to sort things out for her sake and space is needed to figure it out! RinRin: I bet he's trying to get on their good side because he's interested in them too. Probably is trying to replace you as the Baba Wukong: (scandalized gasp)

PIF, of course, hears about the drama and comes over to offer Macaque her support. She meets Shanzha and ends up liking her. She makes an offer for them to move into her territory with Yue.

DBK subtly makes this offer known to Wukong and the Monkey King and Queen start to grovel in earnest. Their divorce was finalized at this point. But Macaque and Shanzha are on the fence since they've found solace in each other and aren't too eager to possibly have their hearts broken again.

It also doesn't help that Wukong is blatantly antagonistic towards Shanzha and RinRin has a silent war against Macaque. Neither wants to bring that kind of tension into Yue's life.

Azure accidentally shoots himself in the foot by offhandedly mentioning to Yue about her move to her Auntie Fan and Uncle DBK's home. She's confused and distressed - even more so when Azure not only tries to explain that she's leaving FFM for good, but also lowkey tries to emotionally manipulate her by implying that Wukong would be happier if she made the move.

(Cue Yue running away to the palace in tears and clinging onto Wukong's clothes and begging him not to make her go away.)

Azure is no longer allowed on FFM indefinitely.

Realizing the effect their drama is having on Yue, the four sit down and actually talk. It doesn’t fix everything immediately, but they at least agree that they need to make this work out for Yue. So they do group family things instead of passing her back and forth. Macaque and Shanzha move back in. They start communicating.

The tension between Wukong and Shanzha is resolved after an impromptu wrestling match which Shanzha surprisingly wins (mostly because she catches Wukong off-guard and because he was in arm's length of her.)

This definitely doesn't make Macaque and RinRin stop their quiet feuding to drool over Wukong and Shanzha's combined muscles and strength. This also definitely doesn't leave Wukong with complicated feelings about getting pinned.

FFM: ….Shanzha is seducing his majesty too now??? How voracious is her appetite????!?

Shadowpeach and Iceflower finally get together after some confessions are made and FFM can finally let out a sigh of relief.

That is...until they realize that the established couples are starting to pine for each other, sending them into hell once again. But that's another story and problem.

Baboon and Gibbon, meanwhile, are so happy they decided to ditch their plans on going to LoES for this sidequest because they now have an intelligent granddaughter to spoil and four lovebirds to laugh at.
