Harry Potter was an extremely intelligient and naturally gifted boy who was  verbally abused to the point that he thought he was essentially worthless and refused to try in case he got in trouble for it. And despite his many accomplishments such as 

conjuring a Patronus at 13

teaching a good portion of his school DADA including upperclassmen

getting extremely good grades in his OWLs without Hermione’s crazy drive or really any real academic drive

excelling at potions once the abusive teacher is taken out of the question (even with the extra directions that’s still a pretty extreme difference- the extra instructions only help fine tune things)

many of his teachers referred to him as very bright and aside from Snape (and Umbridge) seemed to think he would go far- BWL or not

the fandom still likes to portray him as dumb or completely useless without his friends, with the only thing he is good for is Defense.

I don’t know what books you read but I don’t think they were the same ones.

Alabama cops Tasered girl during seizure at concert and arrested mom for trying to help

An Alabama woman claims police repeatedly shocked her and her teenage daughter with Tasers as the girl suffered from a seizure during a hip hop concert.

The 32-page suit claims police used a Taser at least three times on the child’s chest as police officers pinned her to the ground while she endured a grand mal seizure, and other police officers who were nearby failed to intervene.

When the girl’s mother tried to help, officers knocked her to the ground, handcuffed her, shocked her with a Taser and then arrested her.

The teenager suffered a grand mal seizure earlier that day at her high school – where she was treated but not hospitalized.

She later went to the concert, where the suit claims a performer caused a “stampede” after going into the crowd – triggering another seizure after concertgoers “trampled” the girl.

The sister called their mother, who arrived a short time later in a T-shirt and pajama pants, and police quickly pinned her to the ground and fired a Taser at the woman, causing her to urinate.

Officers then used a Taser three times against the teenager as she lay face-down with her arms pinned behind her, causing the girl to lose consciousness.

The girl continues to lose consciousness and suffer muscle contractions, as well as exhibit loud and involuntary vocalizations, as a result of the incident.

I can not understand what guided the cops. They just express their aggression in teens? Or what? What danger could be a girl? What was the reason to use Taser, as she lay on the ground? Who is able to rebuff all this police brutality against children? I’d like to see the arrest report. Exactly what caused them to use a taser? Where they trying to place her under arrest, if so for what reason? i guess again there was just a spontaneous case of police brutality.

I never see a cashier with an empty queue. Self-serve checkout machines make life GREAT for people with social anxiety or self conscious people. I get nervous that everyone is judging my weight. So when I do my monthly ice-cream, chocolate, and menstrual products run, I will do it with a fucking self-serve machine.

I’m happy seeing my friends take photos of their food. I like taking photos of my food. Because there is a chef in the back of the kitchen who works hard to plate things beautifully and in any other situation, people dive in immediately and ruin that image. We take photos to preserve that image and who the fuck knows, if I was the chef I would be digging through instagram hoping to see my plate on there. We’re celebrating someones hard work, work that is generally temporary.

And I don’t know what kind of friends you have, but if someone is taking a photo of their food, I’m not gonna bother talking to them until they’re done. Why would you try to have a conversation when someone is busy?? And it takes a few minutes, you can wait for someone who wants to perform a small act of creativity.

It’s nice to get likes on instagram. If you’re monogamous and on tinder, it’s not technology’s fault you’re contemplating cheating. What is SO BAD about having food delivered to your home? And is there anything wrong with having movies streaming instantly? No - but if you complain that Netflix takes up your life than be an adult and step back. It’s not technology’s fault that you have no self control.

Selfies are fun. Selfies are great. Your friend is a jerk if they don’t even take a minute to take of photo of you as well. Why do you care if people use technology around you on the subway? That makes me feel less self-conscious that people are staring or judging me. They can play their games, read, etc. Someone is occupied, why is that so wrong?

Your phone has a zoom option so you can record/photograph a concert? FUCKING good for you! 

And again. If your phone keeps you up, be an adult, get some self control and step back. 

Technology isn’t bad. You’re just upset with yourselves for having a lack of self-control. You hate that people connect through technology. And maybe, you just don’t like seeing people love themselves, enjoy life, and feel joy. That’s your problem, not technology’s.
