System Stan AU intro!!!

Alr, heres a rundown:

In this AU Stan has OSDD and is the host of a system. We're midway through our first little oneshot but wanted to blab about it somewhere.

The Actual System:

Michael (He/Him) is a Gatekeeper and takes his job very seriously. He's the most parental of the lot and has specific morals about swearing around kids. He often uses nicknames for those he cares about. Represented in fics using gold text.

Robert (He/She/Him/Her) is known for being the most irresponsible of the system. He's genuinely terrible at keeping secrets and has an unfortunate cursing problem. She can sometimes be childish and petty but cares about the others more than he shows. Represented in fics using orangey red text

Dexter (He/They/Him/Them) is a Ford factive and got his name from Michael's nickname for Ford "Poindexter." A stickler for grammar and an absolute nerd, Dexter sometimes feels a bit out of place. They have mixed feelings about his source person, but tends to avoid any interaction with him. Represented in fics using indigo text

Buckle (He/Him) is the system's resident little, Though he’s adamant that he’s a big boy, a whole six (6) years old! Got his name from his love of swashbuckling pirates. Refuses to wear the suit or fez when fronting, he feels it makes him look like Pa. Represented in fics with peachy orange text.

Stan (Any) is the host, and eventually the reluctant caretaker, of the system. Xe’s the true Mr. Mystery personality, being the most criminally inclined. Zey’re a bit questionable as a guardian but undeniably care about both the kids and the others. Represented in fics with Black text

Joseph (He/Him) is a persecutor, but he has his good moments. He spouts the stuff their Pa used to say, truly believing that he’s helping them all. He has the best memory of the lot, but his people skills are mediocre at best. Misses his brother. Represented in fics with Dark Red text

Wanda (She/Her) is both a caretaker and a protector. She’s got that “fun aunt who smells like smoke and has definitely broken several laws” vibe to her. Has a super heavy jersey accent that may or may not be fake. She collects little knicknacks for Stenson. Represented in fics with Violet text.

Stenson (He/She/They/Him/Her/Them) is a caretaker! He’s the main reason the body hasn’t dropped dead after all these years, though she has an unfortunate temper. When fronting, they collect jewelry to give to Wanda. Represented in fics with dark teal text

Anthony or Tony’s (It/He/Its/Him) role in the system is complicated. It mostly fronts at night, working away till the body gives out from exhaustion. He was the one who pushed Ford into the portal in a fit of rage and it has never forgiven himself. Represented in fics with ice blue tex

Additional system member!:

Wells (No Pronouns) might've had another purpose before The Loss, but now remains almost husk-like due to Wells' persistent amnesia. Attempts to provide support to the others by existing nearby, but is mistaken for an imposing entity. Represented in fics with sage green text.

When viewing my sense of self and my trauma through the lens of plurality, it becomes easier to grasp this concept and turn it into something I can use to help us both heal.

To conjure the image of this child self, that hurt little girl, and hear her voice - it's easier than you might think now. I can take her tiny hands in our own, our other parts, older siblings to guide her and protect her and wipe away her tears. We can make her smile and show her she's loved. She never has to grow up, because we can do that for her; all she needs to do is be herself, to be a kid.

Now so often when we glimpse her in headspace, she's in a bright yellow silk dress, smiling and dancing, happy to be a little princess and to be free and alive. And because she's being cared for, I can grow up and move forward.

You know what did make her pause and reconsider her stance? “Did you ever think that maybe God made trans people on purpose?” And we got to have a conversation about all the interesting things God has made so why wouldn’t God make trans people?
