Ok so probably close to 9ish years ago I was super into the Fallout Fandom right? I believe it was somewhere between F4 being announced and actually releasing- I started a Skype chat group for people to talk about Fallout. I had very few people in my life that cared about the games and wanted to connect with other fans.

Anyway! Long story short- we did a ton of text chats, but I can really only remember being a part of one audio call. On this audio call (probably my first one with strangers from the internet), I was extremely nervous and shy but pushed myself to participate. Someone heard my voice and gave me a compliment something along the lines of... "Holy shit, your voice is how I pictured Vault Boys' voice to sound!"

I can't tell you how much I have thought about this interacting since then. I got to feel so freaking cool in that moment.

Anyway, that's been on my mind here lately. I fell away from the Fandom when my life hit several shit covered fans. I'm honestly too busy and not as enthusiastic about Fallout the way I was.

If you're reading this and you were apart of the Wasteland Support Group- send me a message some time? I know the group stuck together for a while after I was gone and 90% of them probably came from tumblr. If you're out there- I still think about that point in my life a lot. You all meant so much to me in such a small goofy internet way.

It's quickly becoming apparent that colour blind casting aims to serve a white audience now

It's not constructive casting, it's casting to distract from the specifically white imperialist foundations of a piece of media. Because what these white racists have found out is that they can curb criticism if they make POC play characters and historical figures who are white and have weaponised whiteness.

Especially seeing this in historical media where the colourblind casting is there to distract from imperialist european upper classes and the clear implications of their existence.
