During the war, I lost my job and my home. I lost my work as a crochet artist and my job as a teacher, so I am now in need of your help. Donations have become extremely limited, and I need to rely on myself and open a small, simple project that reflects who I am and my identity—

Tried to make it as close to the original character sheets as possible, but for the next ones, I think I’ll have some more fun with them. All of the mini images used are @/kianamaiart’s.

Below the cut are some in-depth explanations of the summaries above, since I couldn’t smush all of the information in there.

AIKA

Neptune doesn’t hold the same level of zeal Eclipse does when facing down Aika, he’s afraid of her, even if he doesn’t want to admit it to himself. I wouldn’t go so far to say that he is outright terrified, but he is reasonably concerned for his own safety in facing down a magical girl. This fear eventually becomes a source of resentment as the losses that both Eclipse and themself face are frequent and quite painful, and from that place, Neptune decides to take their job a little more seriously. Aika, as the Star Guardian, is the figure that drives them towards a form of self-improvement in this sense. Certainly not a healthy one, but a form, nonetheless.

ZIRA

Neptune tries not to interact with Zira very much because he doesn’t feel like dragging other people into his work. They consider it a hassle, and feel like it makes things harder on them when there are witnesses and regular people sticking around. It’s extra work, so, they decide to take the “high ground” and completely ignore her. It’s nothing personal, really.

ECLIPSE

Their admiration for Eclipse stemmed from his showmanship and seemingly flawless navigation of his role under LadyDevoid, and his grasp on magic. They were impressed, and overshot their expectations of him. Once Neptune realized that Eclipse wasn’t quite what he expected, he was a bit disappointed. Regardless, his relationship with him remained relatively the same. Neptune let Eclipse take the lead in most of their altercations with the Star Guardian, letting him carry most of the weight, and for a while there were no complaints. He was happy to sit back and watch Eclipse do… Whatever he was doing. When they began to take their job more seriously, they started to step up and collaborate with Eclipse more—asking him questions about the Star Guardian, about her magic, her abilities, anything he could know to get a leg up on her.

LADY DEVOID

Neptune’s relationship with Lady DeVoid is somewhat strained. Their lax approach to everything, including their mission was at first, a point of concern, as he never seemed to understand the gravity of her situation surrounding the Star Guardian (or wanted to, for that matter). This breeded some disdain between the two of them, as he always fell short of her expectations, and seemed to be deliberately doing so. Even after he came to take DeVoid’s commission more seriously, it wasn’t done in her honor, and he still has conflicting feelings on the fact that they have to kill the Star Guardian, but he tries not to think about that too much.

HOSHI &. MISS

Hoshi and Miss are two individuals they know the least about. Hoshi is probably the most important of those two, considering they are the main influence on Aika’s abilities, but in the mess of things, they haven’t quite connected the dots on what they are, and what purpose they serve. Miss is… Well, she’s just the tired looking teacher Neptune sees around sometimes. They don’t see much of her to begin with since they skip class pretty often.

Mohammed is only 19 years old! He has 5 siblings, one of whom is blind, another autistic, and his youngest sibling Ahmed is only 6 years old!! Their neighborhood in North Gaza has been completely destroyed, and they still need support to rebuild their home and their lives! Honestly, it's really fun how Dungeon Meshi haa the main party take on a teenage cat girl halfway through the series, except she's covered in fur all over so nothing shows even when she's naked, she's arguably the most skilled combatant in the group, basically everyone treats her like a kid they're taking care of, she acts like a feral cat begrudgingly choosing to adopt a group of humans instead of a needy kitten, she's a picky eater, she's immune to monsters that try to seduce you, and her past as a slave is directly shown to be traumatic and miserable to the point that her former owner literally made her have a magic seal on her neck that would murder her if she managed to escape.

She's basically the antithesis of fanservice catgirls. Every single trait other series use to turn catgirls into sex objects is inverted to make for an entertaining and interesting character.
