A fairy tale retelling with wonderful writing. But it's not, in my opinion, a murder mystery. That aspect felt like it vanished.

A fairy tale retelling with wonderful writing. But it's not, in my opinion, a murder mystery. That aspect felt like it vanished.
A locked room, haunted library, murder mystery, that never gets going and is just as lost as the characters. DNF at 46%
A fantastic read with Ghanaian mythology. A 5⭐read that I think everyone should have on their shelf!
2 stars for this first of a duology. Weak worldbuilding and a magic system that has no explanation combined with a mystery that is too easy to figure out and about 100 too many pages.
A short review about a book that has horrible pacing issues and one of the most maddening characters I've ever experienced.
A rant about how awful this book was. zombies, werewolves, vampires, nonexistent worldbuilding and horrible dialogue. Not to mention, a grown man in a sheepskin thong and hoof shoes. 0 stars. I hate that I read this book at all even if it was less than 100 pages. Ew.
A horribly written book that reads like a teenager trying to sound edgy. 0 stars. Honestly, I'm kind of mad about it.
Beasts of Carnaval by: Rosàlia Rodrigo
Published by: Harlequin Publication Date: July 29 2025 As always, a thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for access to this eARC. All opinions are my own. Now, let’s get onto the review. Trigger warning for slavery, colonization, colonialism. So, Beasts of Carnaval has a really interesting premise. A Puerto Rican inspired world, Caribbean carnaval culture and the mythology of the Taino…
Oxford Blood book review trigger warning for: racism, attempted sexual assault Rating: 3 stars
A teen makeup influencer dies and her best friend is trying to process her grief over it. Her brother comes back to town to be there for her. The mystery was okay, didn't go where I thought it would because it wasn't set up, in my opinion, well to. 4 ⭐
A middle grade scifi novel that I ended up giving 5⭐
A middle grade story about a girl, her Poppop and a potentially haunted house. What could possibly go wrong?
Dead Fake gets one start for an easy to spot villain, horribly written characters and refusing to actually make use of the ai in the story. Readers deserve better
This review talks about rape, proceed with caution
Trigger warning: this review has discussions of rape and self harm, please read with care.
This review mentions child abuse and ableism. Read carefully, take care of yourself. 0 stars.
Rapunzel and the Sea Witch (or The Little Mermaid and the Tower) By: Kim Bussing
Published by: Random House Children’s Publication Date: 11/11/2025 Thank you, as always, to NetGalley and the publisher for access to this eARC. All opinions are my own. Now, onto the review. Kim Bussing’s Rapunzel and the Sea Witch is a retelling in a series she’s written, that mixes up fairytales. In this one, Rapunzel, and the little mermaid, Hannah, wind up switching places, kind of.
