“Kit.” The voice sounded as if it was coming from very far away. Not Ty’s voice, either. Kit felt as if ice had been injected into his veins, but he forced himself to roll over onto his back.

Ty was there, a silver knife in his hand. He ducked his head and started cutting away the rope around Kit’s waist. Hovering just behind him was Livvy, half-translucent, her hair floating around her as if she were underwater just as Kit had been.

“Kit, you have to get up,” she was saying. Kit had seen a lot of ghosts in his life, but never one as clearly panicked as Livvy was now. “They’re here, they followed you —“

The words echoed inside Kit’s head, all sound and no sense. Follow, follow, follow. He caught at Ty’s wrist just as the rope fell away.

James Walsh is Leo Scott's boyfriend. They fake dated for a few months before realizing they had feelings for each other and they're SO cute. Literally even in their worst moments they're so supportive of each other. Love them so dearly

Layla Sanon is Aspen Acosta-Pérez's girlfriend. These two are loser nerds who like theatre and love each other so deeply. They've definitely gone THROUGH IT, both of them having pretty bad anxiety, but they persevere for each other and I love that for them.

I have SO MANY. I guess I should start by talking about some favorites from my main ocs?

Max Candella (He/They, 16, songwriter)

Max is one of the songwriters for the band Jagged Jems, a pop-rock garage band that's becoming more popular every day. They play a lot of gigs in their small town but after releasing a full album have been able to book gigs a few hours away. Max wasn't always in the band—he's actually the newest addition—but the other members love him like he's been there since the beginning.

Jade Duclos (She/They, 16, singer/songwriter/guitar player)

Jade leads the Jagged Jems, the whole band being her middle school idea and biggest dream come true. She yearns to be the next Stevie Nicks or Joan Jett and she's doing her best to achieve that.

Aspen Acosta-Pérez (He/Him, 16, piano/keyboard player)

Aspen is the only one who can write music in the band. He plays the keyboard for the band and knows enough music theory to teach them (if any of them actually wanted to learn.) He has a twin sister named Willow and a girlfriend named Layla (but she's my partner's oc, so I won't be diving into her at all.)

Leo Scott (He/They, 16, drummer)

Leo is the drummer of the band and one of the sweetest people ever. Sure, his humor might be bad, and he might make horrible jokes at the worst times, but he cares about his friends so deeply. If Aspen called him at 2am and asked him to come over, he'd go. Their mom is pregnant with a girl named Nadia and they have a boyfriend named James (but once again that's my partner's oc.)
