Have you ever had that moment that makes you stop and be sad and happy at the same time? Normally I try to stay positive with what I post. But after receiving this very thoughtful container of flowers from Avon I just had to open up. To date probably the hardest life event I have had to encounter is losing my dad. I was coming home for a visit. He and I was excited because we were going to surprise my mom for Mother’s Day. I had hunted down a favorite recipe from their favorite restaurant and planned to bring a cooler full of homemade food. Whatever projects needed to be done we were going to make it happen. It was a beautiful plan and I was so excited. But plans don’t always go the way we want and he passed before I got home. My mind has gone through a million scenarios and what ifs. He was a great man and I will miss him dearly. I am thankful this man was my dad and I will be forever sad he is gone. I am so very happy he lived to 83. He was on Hospice and was doing so good for awhile they thought they were going to have to kick him out. That gave me hope we would have him for many more years. My parents were always very private and wanted no pictures of them on social media. I will respect their wishes. Thank you Steve and Suronna and all my Avon family for this beautiful container of flowers and your thoughtful message. I agree there is another angel above us. Thank you dad for being the best dad on the planet. I will treasure each day because I know the future is not promised. For #motivationmonday I congratulate anyone who goes and does the “extra”. Congratulations to my oldest baby (yes my children will always be my babies) who just got an award for being a great coach. This past year on top of a full time job, he and his wife also had added responsibilities like having to school from home. It would have been easy to say “I don’t have time or I can’t because.” But Steven said “yes I can” and made it a priority. His children were happy to have him on the field. Big congratulations Steven for being not only a great coach but super dad! And congratulations to the grandkids on their award too. Thanks Jill for the pic. It definitely makes me smile.
