In case anyone hasn't heard, the cyclospora outbreak affecting tons of people in the US right now is coming from Taylor Farms produce. Best to stay away from bagged lettuce and prepared salads completely right now, but especially the ones mentioned in the screenshot:
Taylor Farms Earthbound Farms Little Salad Bar (Aldi) Marketside (Walmart) Kroger House Brand Target private label greens Costco salads and greens etc Trader Joe's chopped salad kits and fresh produce Fast food: McDonalds, Taco Bell, (Yum! Brands), Chipotle, Subway, Pizza Hut, KFC, Olive Garden, Top Golf, Red Lobster, Burger King, etc.
This is not the first time I've heard about a Taylor Farms foodborne illness outbreak. I stopped eating their salads after reading a description of the conditions in their facilities. Doesn't sound like they've improved anything.
We need a fully funded and staffed FDA, and regulations with teeth - and that's exactly what we don't have under Trump. To make things worse, the CDC is no longer tracking these outbreaks. We're on our own.

i fear you guys were making too many “armand de kind” jokes the last 2 years and it’s hopelessly entangled your perception of a character with who he actually is (which is, granted, extremely complex!)
let’s preface to say i don’t think louis really owed armand an apology and certainly not under these circumstances akdksjfn but this is more about all the “armand has been so wildly mischaracterized by these writers” that i’m seeing. i do think some of the things loumand talked about in that scene DID need to be said though, they really did at some point need to reckon with the fact they were in a badly negotiated bdsm relationship built on mutual manipulation and rage between a former brothel owner and a sex slave sorry. also yeah louis WAS using armand!!! armand definitely 100% did more harm to louis than the other way around but this entire show is the characters reckoning with each other the ways they hurt EACH OTHER. and i’m not watching the morally gray vampire gothic horror show to see healthy and realistic depictions of hashing out who abused who more sorry
i have my own critiques about all that happened that i’m still working through but. armand is also a 500+ year old vampire with some of the worst trauma a person can go through that he hasn’t unpacked ever even a little bit and an abandonment complex the size of the moon. he’s canonically one of the most vampiric vampires. he’s clinically insane and yeah when he crashes the fuck out he’s going to plumb the depths of hell about it. this IS also armand. this is an aspect of his personality we really haven’t gotten to see until now but it was ALWAYS under there. they told you upfront he was regressing to his COD days - well, here they are! this wasn’t character assassination and he wasn’t flattened into a cartoon villain, in my opinion. i’m not going to stop you from feeling that way, you’re on your own journey about this show but. IMO we just haven’t seen the full extent of his darkness until now (and this is where i critique them not letting him chop nicky’s hands off and manipulate his insanity, not showing him burning the COD coven members after they abandon him, raping lestat)
i’m not a book purist by any means but i really do question when some of y’all say you’ve read the books ngl everyone is infinitely so much worse in them and i’ve been WAITING to see this part of armand’s personality.
(i’m still working through it but i do think i dislike that this scene happened with louis, ultimately. loumand has always been a fail marriage to me but i enjoyed them for their toxicity and wanted them as characters to reach a place of mutual understanding - but under these circumstances? ehhhhhhhhhhh. on one hand i think with the show’s direction it actually does make more sense for armand to reach catastrophic heights with louis over lestat. on the other hand. yeeesh. and i don’t really know how they move forward here. maybe this is the show giving lestat’s “i love armand but i know i am never safe with him” to louis. i would say at the expense of “you’re only safe with armand if he loves you” but again armand raped lestat in the book so even that’s not entirely true). while i can see armand branding him as a “now we’ve left our mark on each other” moment, it was egregious after ep6’s “you have a little mark on your ribs that says slave” and they absolutely shouldn’t have done that.
i do think in the same way claudia was going for louis’ throat in ep6 and saying things that were MEANT to be hurtful and painful and not necessarily a true reflection of her feelings 100% of the time, that’s the same here (especially coming from armand of all characters, my god. talk about having a nuanced convoluted psyche). i think armand and louis did love each other to some degree even in dubai - i don’t think you can be with someone for eight decades and not have SOME KIND of affection for them. i also don’t think you can hurt each other this badly without some love involved.
loumand should have had this fight 80 years ago and instead let boiling resentment and manipulation and anger build up between them. i think it’s in line with louis’ character to fling armand into a wall and walk away and completely divorce himself mentally from those years. i also think it’s extremely in line with armand to stew on it for three years and then have an INSAAAAAANEEEEEE violent crashout about it.
anyway long winded ramble to say i genuinely don’t think this was out of character for armand at all
