Quote of the Day: You never know how things will turn out... This story has 3 parts.
Part 1: So there I am, working in the studio one afternoon when my cousin calls me and ask to ask if I could make a track for her daughter's Quinceañera. (FYI Hispanic families have many, many....many cousins, as I am sure you already know). A Quinceañera (or Quinces for short) is a right of passage for young ladies on their 15th birthday (just like sweet 16 except louder). Because she is such great dancer, she wanted a personalized track she could do some choreography to. So I gladly jumped on the project to deliver something hot.
Part 2: Curt Digg was introduced to me by a mutual friend and although we had been out of touch for years, he remembered that back in the day I used to sing in a group called UNISON (but more on that later). Curt had just signed to a label in Miami called Revival Entertainment and relocated from California. They were looking for someone to do some writing and singing and naturally they thought of COACH ("wink wink").He was working out of sensational producers Cool & Dre's studio in North Miami and shortly after meeting we were on our way to creating music.
Moral of the story: You never know how things will turn out.... This project began heading one way and ended doing something in a completely different direction. Who would have thought? The video was shot at a set in Miami where I did a cameo (I guess I didn't make it pass the edit stage). Curt has had great success with this song, it is his biggest hit to date, which I am happy to have been a part of. AND the featured artist is Kidd Kidd. You probably recognize him from Lil Wayne's smash hit "Mrs. Officer". Kidd is currently signed to 50 Cents' label G-Unit Records. Also, if you listen closely you may recognize MY voice on the hook. Looking back,I'm not sure I would have made the same decisions today, but i wish Curt much love and even greater success in his life.

"SO GOOD" - by PSCYTHE
Let me begin with this quote “A good name is more desirable than great riches; to be esteemed is better than silver or gold." (Proverbs 22:1) I have always believed this, mostly due to my father. He used to tell me all of the time, (because I would do things halfway) that if I’m not going to do something 100%, then don’t bother doing it. This ideal is what has helped me build up a stellar reputation in music industry. I consistently strive to deliver a work that is superior. And,I now know that it was only GOD and my Good name that brought this great and thought provoking project into my laboratory.
Jay-Classic (5M Music Group), an old friend from high school approached me on “the-book-of-faces” and told me that he had a friend who was looking for someone who could mix and master a few songs on a project and, that he thought of me as the right man for the job. Here is the twist… His friend also lives in ATL and it turns out he also went to high with us. Crazy right?! As a matter of fact we all used to play in a band together back in the day when I used to have skills on the trumpet. His friend is none other than sensational Hip Hop and R&B producer JTheory (or better known to me as Junior). How small the world is… After a bit of catching up, JTheory tells me about the project where rapper PSCYTHE and him collaborated. They didn’t just do one song, they finished an entire album and "SO GOOD" was going to be a single. I’ll be leaving a link where you can find his music below.
So Good is a song for ladies, laid over a smooth Hip Hop track that’s overflowing with R&B flavor. I look forward to doing more projects with Pscythe and JTheory in the very near future.

"GOD BELONGS IN MY CITY" (Miami) - Prophecy ft. Lawren ft. Coach
This song is dear to my heart because it was the first song I ever recorded and put out for the Lord. I can NOW admit that I had always been embarrassed about doing christian music OR just any type of music for GOD. I love him… Through Jesus I am alive… but some for reason I never felt like my voice could be expressed the way that I wanted it to. I’m proud to say those days are “left behind”.
This recipe includes 2 Rappers, 1 singer, 1 super Producer, 1 great studio, 5 friends and a great time….. PRESTO….. hit song.! While working at Tony Grandson Productions (Best studio in Miami) on vocals and arranging for a different track, my friend, super talented Rapper, and youth leader, Prophecy somehow gets A.D.D. and asked me if I wanted to sing on this track that him and his friend Lawren were going to do together (I was hoping in my mind he would ask but I played it cool). He says I would be perfect for it. He tells me Super Producer Lino is working on it. Well, Lino is my old production partner. We practically did my entire album (The PlayBook) together. I knew right away that not only were all of the right ingredients already there but it was going to be a SMASH. Prophecy showed me the idea he had for the song and after only a few minutes, we worked out 2 verses, a chorus and a bridge. All that was left was to add the icing on the cake which was Lawren (he and I recorded on a separate day). Once all the recording was done, Lino and I put the final touches to the track at TGP, then I took the song back to my place where I mixed and mastered it.
I have felt like the reason I never got into Christian/Gospel music before was because it never spoke to me. Sure the songs had great content but it all sounded bland OR old OR boring (just my opinion, up until I truly opened my mind and ears and gave it a fair listen). But, as of right now I’m very excited to see what has been happening. So many people are taking christian music and putting a twist on it…. making it their own. Making content filled, holy ghost, fist pumping, make you want to “worship until you pass out” music. I feel blessed just to be a part of it.
It was a great experience. We even got to perform the song and open for Andy Mineo when he came to Miami. I thank God for the circle of friends he has given me (throughout my entire life) that help me when I’m down and pray for me always. On top of that we all get to make music together… “Infect The World” <— good title for an album. My life is sold out and there is no turning back. There is much more where this came from in the very near future.

Fashion House is a song written and performed by Rapper MC Lean. Though I didn't produce the track (I wish I had because I love it) I did mix and master this project. It was produced by Stompboxx. What most people don't know is that he is my younger brother. He grew up around studio equipment and the music industry. I remember going to bed one night and waking up the next morning and the song was recorded. All by himself he set up the session, set proper levels and tracked out the entire song. Its been a year since this song was made but it is still one of favorites that he's done. He even made the gif that plays during the track. Lean runs his own clothing line and express his love for high fashion here.

This is Samir el Veldadero. I worked side by side with him for a little over 3 years as a manager, producer and friend. We made tons of music and learn a lot from each other and celebrated much success. especially in South American. The track was produced and mixed by a very close friend of mine, and some who I consider a mentor. Duane "MidiLord" Summers. I PRODUCED the music video and arranged and recorded the vocals.
Talk about making it happen on a LOW BUDGET!!! This entire video was shot for $800. When you are on a tight budget you have to learn to be CREATIVE. One night at a gig Samir was performing at, we met a student director and pitched him the idea of shooting a music video. Its turns out students have access to AMAZING equipment and need to make projects to pass their class....Go Figure. I think I may have paid him $100...Maybe $200...but no more then that. We pulled permits from the city and shot under the famous Miami Rickenbacker Bridge. I chose there for many reasons. Having grown up in Miami, I had been there many times and I new that in that 1 location we could shoot from many different angles and would not have to relocate. We had a city shot, parking lot shot, fence shot, beach shot and probably something else.
Of course every dance music video need hot girls so for the girls we just went to the malls and asked the prettiest girls we saw if they wanted to be in a music video... and OF COURSE THEY DID. ITS MIAMI TRICK!!! Also, I had Samir performing at least twice a week and different night clubs and venues around town so beautiful girls were easy to come by. When it came to the choreography, we were lucky enough to run into some young ladies who danced, while at one of our own performances. We pitched them the idea of free exposure in exchange for some dancing. We also found a local car club on Myspace (because it was the bomb back in the day) that was willing to make same exchange for some publicity.
We rented a Port-O-Potty and the rest of the money went to water and food for everyone. I had one of my best friends Dean Spaulding work magic on the BBQ grill (a favor so big i couldn't thank him enough). And, what everyone would remember most is that that day ended up being the coldest day of the year. On top of that, we were right by the water and therefore the breeze/ wind-chill was killing us. But it was a great night and even better memories. If you look closely you may have a "Coach Sighting" towards the end of the video....lol

Working on a #newsong at home on my mint #piano. I've always wanted a piano. One day my beautiful #wife looks on craigslist and see some1 who is #giving it away for #Free. The gentlemen says many have seen it but it's not in the best shape and no one has come back to move it. So i told him I'll will pick it up on #Saturday. God sometime will use what someone else doesn't want to bless you. You may have to paint it, sand it, love it, work it, be patient with it, help it, or many other things but if you keep to it... It can become one the biggest #blessing of your #life.
