Sometimes you’ve just got to hit the road. Ditch it all. Leave your loved ones behind, never to be heard from again... well at least until you can get phone reception again.
As the wheels roll that troubles slide off the roof like nothing else. The crowded suburban buildings transform into rocky hills. This made our 5th trip out to the beautiful national park, we’re previously camped at the Indian Cove Campground, 20 miles north of Black Rock.
While Indian Cove is a warm embrace of rock formations, Black Rock holds the iconic Yucca trees that Joshua Tree gets it’s name from. Cactus, stones and bush bow at their feet.
The cool breeze comes quickly as the sun slips behind the mountains. The forest takes on a different life as the darkness comes.
Time for a fire under the galaxy stars.
The time in the wild never seems to be long enough. It’s time to head back.
To get to a lot of these incredible places you have to give up your own comfort. For instance, when hiking in Oregon, you are pretty much guaranteed to get soaked.
We wanted to repost this photo @andrea.brindley took of our #rootchakra #waxmelts. We'll be stocking the store this coming week with more great #veganproducts. #feelthelove #madeincalifornia #madeingardengrove #vegan #soywaxmelts #etsyshop #meditation #handmade (at The Cosmic Divine)

We’ve all thought of trying yoga a time or two, some of us even get a foot in the door and pull a secret asana in our own house. The braver ones go to a class with a bunch of strangers around and the chance of hearing someone break wind is high.
For those of us that like the comfort of home, or maybe you wanna fill in some free time or practice that new move, but how you gonna do that if you don’t know the moves or how to get into that one without snapping your neck.
Well, Yoga.com has their own chakra kicking app for that.
I’ve been using this awesomely easy to use phone app, Yoga.com, and it’s website for my yoga needs the last month or so. The app and website are beautifully designed and super easy to get around in.
iPhone/iPad App
When you first open up the app you get a quick guide for getting around. Pre-designed programs, a huge catalog of poses with videos (woohoo), & inspirational quotes for those days it’s just to hard to get to the practice.
Click on those three lines right there and you can get to your profile page, yoga.com (which is where you can post and look at other’s yoga photos, think InstaYoga) and, to me, the coolest thing. A calendar, more on that further down.
Programs
There are so many great things yoga does for us. Mentally, physically & spiritually. Sometimes though we’re not sure what’s a good flow for what we’re trying to achieve. Maybe you’ve just got 15 minutes and want to bust out a practice.
I’m one of those people and this app had me covered. Pre designed practices are all right there, experience levels, goals, you can even build your own awesome program from the hundreds of asana’s in the app or you can edit the pre-existing ones.
Pose Library
The pose library will be one of the most helpful areas, though maybe the least used, maybe it’s just me.
In this latest version the app has a lot of really great info. The proper names of the poses along side the english names and if you’re having trouble pronouncing the lengthy names? There’s an audio file helping you out. Not sure how the heck they got into those pretzel positions? Theres an awesome video to show you how to ease into those asanas. Muscular drawings showing you which fabulous muscles you’re stretching and awakening.
A great section of the app if you want to play a fun game of yoga flash cards.
Calendar
Next to the programs the calendar is the best thing for me. It’s easy to forget when you did you last practice, how long it was or even what poses you did. This guy helps those of us with a busy life or those that just like to log their lives.
The red dots easily let you know when you last got some yoga on, it’ll even tell you which programs you worked on and how long you did each program (even if the original time is much longer than you actually practiced). Can’t cheat yourself with this guy. You can see here that I didn’t do much last month. lol.
*Down at the bottom where it says total time on yoga, that compines all your months, days and weeks into one.*
Profile
You’ve got your standard profile page. It’s not to complicated and just has the standard info. You’ve got followers and those that follow you, easy access to your yoga photos.
Website Account
Besides the web app you can also access the Yoga.com website where you’ll find a ton of great articles, photos of others doing their yoga practices around the world. There’s also access to the poses if you for some God awful reason you can’t get to your phone that we all have glued to our hips.
So that’s it. If you’re in the neighborhood looking for a good yoga app then this is it. I’d totally recommend this app to anyone. Go get it. Right now.
