!!! FEEL LIKE BILBO BAGGINS !!!
Leliana you gorgeous thing, you ❤️
This is why I get meal kits. Do I need them? No. Can I easily make them myself? For way cheaper? Yes. WILL I??? No.
Other tips: if you are going to buy things that aren’t pre-taxed, you need to make a habit of always doing the prep AS SOON AS YOU GET HOME. it will NEVER HAPPEN if you don’t.
Get the bulk pack of steaks! But you are never gonna eat them before they go bad. If you freeze them in individual ziplocks as soon as you unpack you probably will?
Get the celery, but you need to cut it ALL UP and store it in the fridge in water or it will rot.
And don’t do all tgese at once, get like, one or two prep things a trip. You aren’t gonna get it started if it’s a huge task.
Don’t pass by these tips because you don’t have ADHD!
These are valid points for the busy parent, the overstressed college student, and the person working the “wrong” shift.
Real story - I have thrown away SO MUCH meat and produce in my time. Frozen veggies can even be better than fresh, since they are picked when ripe and frozen rather than picked early and expected to ripen in shipping. My local grocer will sometimes pre-chop less-than-desirable veggies and sell them in the discount cooler - a chopped onion is more useful than a whole one! Meat in bulk packs is WAY cheaper, but you have to make breaking up that huge pack part of putting away the groceries. Also, having a place to put the groceries away helps make the process easier. It’s taken me more than one decade of life to figure these things out.
It’s not lazy if it is efficient. Professionals call it “time management.”
Not ADHD, just incredibly busy and tired all the time, and this is VERY helpful.
I wanted to draw something unusual
you may have noticed that my blog is disorganized and thematically incoherent and my tag game is weaker by the day. this is commentary on the chaos of modern existence
💎 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗺! Goose Pipes Wondrous item, uncommon ___ These magic bagpipes sound like honking geese. You can use an action to play three harsh notes in rapid succession to magically summon a swarm of geese in an unoccupied space of your choice that you can see within 30 feet of you. Use the swarm of ravens statblock for the geese, except that its hit point maximum is doubled. The swarm takes its turn immediately after yours and attacks the nearest target that it can see. The swarm disappears after 1 minute or when it’s reduced to 0 hit points. Once the bagpipes summon a swarm of geese in this way, it can’t do so again until the next dawn. If you’re proficient with bagpipes, the geese are friendly to you and your companions unless you harm them. If you aren’t proficient with bagpipes, the geese are hostile. ___ ✨ Patrons get huge perks! they should invent giving me the perfect job without applying or interviewing
"this is what ive BEEN saying" - me about a thought that 99% only exists in my brain and i maybe mentioned briefly in one tag once
The reason your snacks are unsatisfying is that you need both carb and protein.
Carb starts your engine, protein keeps it going.
No carb, engine don’t start. No protein, engine dies out fast.
Easy carb add on:
Cookie
Fruit (canned or fresh)
Chips
Piece of bread
Popcorn
Crackers
Easy protein add on:
Nuts
Spoonful of nut butter
Cheese
Roasted chickpea snacks
Glass of milk (dairy or non dairy)
Small canned sausages or similar
Sugar in there.
I am pleased by people messaging me telling me that after adding a carb or protein to their snacks or meals they feel more satisfied all day. Yes, my plan is working. People are getting through their days with less hangry.
scientists are experimenting on cross-breeding a crab and a cheetah; things could go sideways real fast
💎 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗺! Throne of the Lion Wondrous item, rare ___ This golden throne is covered in lion-like embellishments, complete with feet, claws, and mane. It doubles as a single golden lion “figurine of wondrous power,” except that you must touch it when you speak its first command word to cause it to become a lion, and it can’t be used again until 3 days have passed, instead of 7. You can speak its second command word as an action to make the throne stand slightly taller. The chair continues to stand in this way until you or another creature sit in it. If you move more than 30 feet from the throne, it follows you until it is within 30 feet of you, using a walking speed of 30 feet. It takes the shortest route to do so. If prevented from moving, the chair sinks to its normal resting height and becomes inactive. While sitting on the throne, you can use an action to command it to carry you a distance up to its walking speed, and you have advantage on Wisdom (Animal Handling) checks you make to interact with any kind of cat, even if it isn’t domesticated. ___ ✨ Patrons get huge perks! “Do you support OCs × canon characters” buddy 30% of my conscious mental activity is devoted to that very topic
I will not call myself or other people "gooners" or "npcs" or "larpers". i will not call things i dont like "slop". i will not use terms like "-oids". i dont like how common language is slowly becoming more focused on shorthand terms for hate and apathy
if you work in a creative field...or if you do creative hobbies like writing or drawing...you need to make friends with people who don't do those things. you need to befriend normie Steve who has never written a story in his life. and this is because when you are in a creative job or hobby and spend all your time doing that thing, surrounded by very capable people, who you inevitably compare your own progress and skills to, you forget what the baseline human skill at that thing is. and it's usually zero. normie Steve has not written a story since the 3rd grade when his teacher made him do it. he's very good at other things that are not storytelling - but if you tell normie Steve that you wrote a full 300-page book from start to finish, he will think you're some kind of savant. he does not know ANYONE else who has done this. you need this perspective. because when you're constantly on Let's Write Stories dot Com then everyone on Let's Write Stories dot Com will inevitably be like "oh of course everyone on earth has written a book or several at this point!" and you canNOT let yourself think that. that is not even close to the average human experience. you are in a bubble. do not put yourself down. do not give up.
To my 25 - 35 year olds, you've reached the age where people around you are starting to give up on themselves because they think it's too late. Don't let that energy rub off on you. It's not too late.
