My biggest fear is someone describing me with an alarming confidence while knowing almost nothing about me.
My husband and I were having a random conversation about family and ties, and he casually goes, “Mom comes first, even if you’re married.” And let me tell you, I had the slowest and most painful heartbreak ever. It’s not that his mom shouldn’t matter. Of course she should. But I know, deep down, that when we have kids, I’ll be pushed even further down that invisible list. So let me ask this, where does the wife stand in all of this? Why does she have to be a mother or daughter to be of value? To even be seen as a priority? A mother and children: you didn’t choose them. You were destined to have them. They were always a part of your life by default. But a wife? The one you oh-so-willingly chose to be your soulmate, the person you expect to become a part of your world by leaving hers entirely behind. Where does she stand in any of this?

“That’s why high school, or a crappy job, or any other restrictive circumstance can be dangerous: They make dreams too painful to bear. To avoid longing, we hunker down, wait, and resolve to just survive. Great art becomes a reminder of the art you want to be making, and of the gigantic world outside of your small, seemingly inescapable one. We hide from great things because they inspire us, and in this state, inspiration hurts.”

it’s always a good time to lie awake in bed late at night and think about the fantasy lore in your head. you will surely not regret staying up til ungodly hours thinking about the fantasy lore in your head. things you have to do tomorrow are temporary made up fictional details are forever

“Until you give in to God’s will, the destiny He’s written for you, and the fate He has imposed on you, He won’t stop torturing you. You see, God is egotistical. God is a sadist.”
