@thegrandyearof2007
Yeah I mean it’s not like her supporting the Black Panthers (who advocated for killing white babies and bombing nurseries) had anything to do with it haha nope.
In Memoriam #4: The one where Scalia said it was okay for innocent people to be executed.
“This Court has never held that the Constitution forbids the execution of a convicted defendant who has had a full and fair trial but is later able to convince a habeas court that he is ‘actually’ innocent,” – Scalia, 2009
OP can’t tell the difference between a positive and normative proposition. Shockerz.
It’s not like it was the guy’s job to interpret the Constitution hahaha nope.
Daryush 'Roosh' Valizadeh is photographed for the first time since an international storm over his claim rape on private land should be legal - at his mother's home in Silver Spring, MD.
Daryush ‘Roosh’ Valizadeh, 36, calls himself the ’King of Masculinity’ but has faced anger from around the world for his views on rape
He posted an article advocating legalization of rape on private land and has said women’s value is dependent on 'fertility and beauty’
This weekend he was planning 'tribal meetings’ for his followers in 45 countries but called them off because of 'death threats’
Today Daily Mail Online found him at his mother’s cul-de-sac home in Silver Spring, Maryland - where he lives in the basement
“Pro-rape”
Here’s $2 saying OP never looked into that claim, or read the article it spawned from (or anything here, actually - he doesn’t live in his mother’s basement lol).
New Study Finds No Link Between Gaming And Sexist Attitudes
“A few days ago a German longitudinal study was published that explored the connection between gaming and sexist attitudes. The results broadly show that playing videogames doesn’t make people sexist.”
“In order to ensure a degree of reliability in these findings, there are also two elements that should be highlighted. The first is the fact this was a longitudinal study and the second is who funded the research.
Longitudinal studies are undertaken over a period of time, with snapshots of data taken within that. In this instance large samples of participants from the age of 14 and up were included in three waves of testing over a few years, starting back in 2011. That’s a lot of data and, more importantly, it also predates any current controversy regarding the belief that playing games somehow makes people sexist.
As for who funded the research if it were a games publisher then that would call the study into question, as they would clearly have a vested interest in the results. In fact it was independently funded by the European Research Council.”
The study: “Sexist Games = Sexist Gamers? A Longitudinal Study on the Relationship Between Video Game Use and Sexist Attitudes
ABSTRACT:
From the oversexualized characters in fighting games, such as Dead or Alive or Ninja Gaiden, to the overuse of the damsel in distress trope in popular titles, such as the Super Mario series, the under- and misrepresentation of females in video games has been well documented in several content analyses. Cultivation theory suggests that long-term exposure to media content can affect perceptions of social realities in a way that they become more similar to the representations in the media and, in turn, impact one’s beliefs and attitudes.
Previous studies on video games and cultivation have often been cross-sectional or experimental, and the limited longitudinal work in this area has only considered time intervals of up to 1 month. Additionally, previous work in this area has focused on the effects of violent content and relied on self-selected or convenience samples composed mostly of adolescents or college students.
Enlisting a 3 year longitudinal design, the present study assessed the relationship between video game use and sexist attitudes, using data from a representative sample of German players aged 14 and older (N=824). Controlling for age and education, it was found that sexist attitudes—measured with a brief scale assessing beliefs about gender roles in society—were not related to the amount of daily video game use or preference for specific genres for both female and male players. Implications for research on sexism in video games and cultivation effects of video games in general are discussed.”
POC not wanting to date white people because of a history of colonization and systematic powers of oppression, fear of or weariness over casual and blatant racism, and/or the lack of a shared culture is NOT that same as white people not wanting to date POC because of caricatures that they created, stereotypes that they mock and replicate, and their own racism–whether they think they’re racist or not.
In short: POC are not and cannot be racist for not wanting to date white people. Whereas white people are just plain racist for their so called “preferences.”
“its only ok when I do it.”
Hooters: For All Your Misogynistic, Revenge-Fueled Valentine’s Day Needs
Hooters is running their annual Valentine’s Day promotion, seen in full below:
Confirmed via Snopes, the promotion consists of receiving free wings for shredding a picture of your ex.
With all the violence women have faced recently (from the New Year’s Eve attacks in Cologne to just a few weeks when Janese Jackson-Talton was shot for saying “no” after a man hit on her) this seems like an especially ill-timed and tone deaf promotion.
Though the promotion doesn’t specifically say ex-girlfriend/wife, it’s a basic fact of life that Hooters is most often populated by male customers, which means it’s not a far leap to assume the majority of pictures being run through the shredder will be of women.
Even the ad for the promotion features a women prominently, with just a small sliver of a man’s face peeking out behind her.
We can’t pretend that these types of promotions/ads live in a vacuum. We can’t pretend that thousands of men cheering as they shred photographs of their ex-girlfriends/wives to receive free wings doesn’t help perpetuate violence against women. We can’t continue to normalize this type of thought.
“We can’t pretend that thousands of men cheering as they shred photographs of their ex-girlfriends/wives to receive free wings doesn’t help perpetuate violence against women.”
There’s nothing to pretend. You’ve demonstrated absolutely no connection between shredding a fucking PICTURE and committing violence against women.
Shred a picture?
MISOGYNIST ABUSE!
Real cute, playing dumb and pretending that if there was a female-targeted equivalent (maybe with chocolates instead of wings, I dunno) women of the world wouldn’t be ALL FUCKING OVER IT and cackling with glee.
Also, don’t bullshit around with ‘with all the violence women have faced recently’ and ‘especially ill-timed’ and all that. It doesn’t matter when this ad was ever made, as long as some human out there in the world somewhere hurt another human being, you’d treat it as some especially terrible time for women. Don’t pretend that if this ad was released at some other time, you wouldn’t have gone out and found instances of violence just to be outraged exactly the same.
Honestly, I love Hooters and wings and I have pics of @dragonswithtypewriters I could shred.
Op you do realize that this promo is for literally everyone right? That includes women shredding pics of thier ex man. Like… jesus
There’s a picture of a man too on that advertisement 0/10 no effort whatsoever
Shhhhh you’ll ruin the narrative. It’s all they got since there’s no way they’d get 10 free wings.
Damn, I felt that burn clear over there.
OP should just delete their blog already
It took a while, but Parker, Stone, and ‘South Park’ seem to have crossed the point where their dual central sympathies—their own self-righteousness and the righteousness of put-upon 'little guys'—are no longer one and the same. 'South Park’ is The Establishment at this point, and the 'little guys’ in perpetual danger of being trampled increasingly look less like the middle-aged Generation Xers who created it and more like the aggrieved rainbow of dissidents making noise on the likes of Tumblr (or out in the streets, for that matter). Season 19, by the end, felt like nothing so much as the creators gnashing their teeth at ascendant millennials moments after the realization of this finally smacked them in the face. 'Hmph! You kids today with your hula hoops and your social justice!’

Comedian Owen Benjamin says Beyoncé did a “KKK dance routine” at the Super Bowl
In a since-deleted tweet, stand-up comic Owen Benjamin wrote “I really really hope Beyonce fans google ‘who were the black panthers.’ Never support her again. She basically just did a KKK dance routine.” Many on Twitter showed him the error of his ways — but at least, he’s made a proposal to actually learn something.
I hate to have to do this, but @micdotcom, have you not seen the stuff the black panthers have been doing as of late? They have LITERALLY done a speech where they say to kill white babies (which I’m going to source as soon as I’m on the computer), they have tried to overthrow the US government, THEY ARE CLASSIFIED AS AN EXTREMIST ORGANIZATION BY THE FBI. They kinda are the reverse of the KKK, at least now.
the black panther routine was kind of unsettling. I get the idea of people taking pride in black history, but the black panthers seemed too radical.
The thing is it would have been SO much better if they did one of those Black Power things with the afro and the fist. But the Panthers… no.
Black power is much more powerful than black Panthers. It holds such a better meaning.
SUCH A BETTER MEANING, OH MY GOD. Black power was about showing that your natural hair want something to be ashamed of and that black people were just as good as anyone else regardless of what anyone thinks.
Black Panthers were not like that at all. They became nothing more than a bunch of racists protected because their name use to be revered. I mean, who the hell says BABIES should be killed seconds after being born? And for their skin color no less!
a New Black Panther Leader identified by The Blaze as possibly being King Samir Shabazz, said that blacks will have to kill white babies “seconds” after they’re born, while suggesting bombing nurseries.
The Blaze also noted that the host, presumably Shabazz, also said that “blacks are ‘too scared’ to drag whites out of their houses, skin them, hang them in trees, drag them behind trucks, and pour acid on them. http://joeforamerica.com/2015/05/new-black-panther-leader-bomb-nurseries-to-kill-white-babies/#
Holy shit
I’m never supporting Beyonce again.
I heard that they were kind of “rowdy”, to put it lightly, back in the day, but not as bad as the Black Panthers of today, who are much, much more militant now than they were originally.
The party is also extremely anti-Semitic: https://www.splcenter.org/fighting-hate/extremist-files/group/new-black-panther-party
It’s actually pretty scary.
Jesus Christ, really?
Wow, I was pretty much neutral on the old Black Panthers, but after hearing this, I’m pretty sure I’ll never support Beyonce’s work (I thought she was pretty meh and overrated to begin with, but this is just shocking). And if she or anyone else didn’t have knowledge of this, then that’s even worse because she was giving a salute to an anti-semitic hate group without even knowing.
I wonder if @baby-goalie-skaps is in on this, considering that she’s Jewish.

Y'know what’s funny? People criticizing the recent rise of “islamophobia” and antisemitism in Europe in the same sentence without realizing that 90% of the new antisemitism has been imported through Islamic mass immigration.
Whaaat? You’re saying anti-semitism doesn’t spring ex-nihilo like trusty Mr. Goldberg said?
Georgia students occupy universities to protest racist Supreme Court decision
Atlanta, GA - 14 student activists were arrested for occupying classrooms at three different universities in Georgia, the evening of Feb. 1 and early morning Feb. 2. They were part of an action of more than 90 students from more than ten different universities who were protesting the Georgia Supreme Court’s ruling banning undocumented students from suing the Board of Regents to gain in-state tuition. The court ruling effectively upholds the state’s policy that bans undocumented students from Georgia’s top five public colleges and universities. Illegal immigrants are a race now.
Nice logic guys.
The practical effect of Republicans' proposed immigration policies? Reducing the number of people of color in America.
There is a strong racial context and subtext to the debate about immigration reform taking place in the GOP presidential primary.
Think Progress being filled to the brim with rhetorical bullshit, as always. Looks like they didn’t learn anything from Vox Day tearing their “immigrants are good for the economy” nonsense to shreds.
Immigration restrictions will disproportionately affect non-whites -- no shit? Where do you think most immigrants (legal or otherwise) are coming? Fucking Finland?
i feel like cis people who call themselves allies focus too much on if trans people “choose” to be trans. if you really do accept us and there’s nothing wrong with being trans, why would it matter if we choose to be?
Because the truth matters. If you’re not or never had dysphoria prior to transitioning then you’re not trans. And its nothing short of abhorrent to try and co-opt an identity just because its fashionable.
Just like there’s nothing wrong with being gay, but I’m sure as fuck not going to call myself gay even though I’ve never meet a male I was attracted to. Because that’s not what the fuck gay means.
What you’re asking here is “why don’t we reduce words to complete meaninglessness, that way everyone can be anything?”
people can be trans without dysphoria, and there are cis people who experience dysphoria. gender is a social construct, and being trans or cis is defined by how you feel you fit into the current ideas of gender. as a dysphoric trans person, if someone wants to call themselves trans because they don’t really connect with the idea of gender, or are non-dyphoric but feel happier than they currently are using different pronouns, or even just connect with the idea of being trans and choose to define themselves as trans, then they are trans. there is much more, in my experience, to being trans than dysphoria. shut the fuck up.
“ people can be trans without dysphoria, and there are cis people who experience dysphoria. “
You can be gay without being attracted to dudes, and straight dudes are attracted to dudes. See, I can make up dumb shit too.
“ gender is a social construct “
No its not, it’s a term we use in language to refer to people’s biological sex.
“ and being trans or cis is defined by how you feel you fit into the current ideas of gender. “
Jesus tap dancing Christ, you’re fucking saying anyone who isn’t a walking stereotype must be trans, no that’s fucking bullshit.
“ as a dysphoric trans person, if someone wants to call themselves trans because they don’t really connect with the idea of gender, or are non-dyphoric but feel happier than they currently are using different pronouns, or even just connect with the idea of being trans and choose to define themselves as trans, then they are trans. “
1- I’m not buying. 2- You being ok with people reducing a term to meaninglessness doesn’t mean its fine. You’re no authority on the matter.
“ there is much more, in my experience, to being trans than dysphoria. shut the fuck up. “
Just like there’s much much more to being gay than being attracted to the same sex right? Fuck words and their meanings, who needs em. I’m gonna be a trans black lesbian goldfish. Now shut the fuck up or else you’re oppressing me for all my newfound minority labels I decided to adopt so I can use them to yell at people on tumblr.
“its a term we use to refer to people’s biological sex”
biological sex is a construct too pal, and does this mean you see trans people as the gender they were assigned at birth? you’re making your transphobia pretty obvious
1- I’m not buying
not buying what? that i’m trans? that i experience dysphoria? i talk abt both those things frequently on my blog, and other than that i dont know what proof to give you. would you like to see some sort of certificate?
2- You being ok with people reducing a term to meaninglessness doesn’t mean its fine. You’re no authority on the matter.
i’d say that I, a trans person, have far more authority than you, a cis person, do.
why are you telling a trans person what makes me trans? how would you know?
*biological sex is a construct too pal*
Correct - a biological construct.
* you’re making your transphobia pretty obvious*
No one cares.
*why are you telling a trans person what makes me trans? how would you know?*
Because, apparently, he’s the one between the two of you that has read a medical journal at some point in their lives.
OKAY
what’d I miss
