The sorcerer had heard a lot of things about this particular one before, but nevertheless decided to assume little. Why not give her a chance to present herself first?
“Mm? Oh, a visitor~? Good good~! Let me prepare some tea and I’ll be right with you~!”
The Emerald Realm is a green void of sorts, emerald wisps floating merrily and cheerfully by in accordance to the owner’s mood. No floor or ceiling was present, though one could still walk however they naturally wished. A crisp, yet not uncomfortable temperature was maintained.
Only a few seconds later, various wisps gathered to form the outline of a person, quickly solidifying into the aforementioned owner, armed with a teapot and two cups floating at his side, the teapot filling both cups, and one of the cups gently gliding towards the visitor.
The other teacup was gently taken by its owner, a pleasant smile on his person. “Name’s Sakana. Nice to meetcha~”
A small, black cat landed on the seemingly floorless and emerald void with the bell around her neck making a small chime. She glanced about this strange realm at the everything that was nothing.
For someone who was supposedly a Voyager Witch, this place was quite disappointing when compared to an orchard of golden roses or a city of books. Then again, this person was not someone interesting enough on their own to investigate, regardless of their status.
A voice echoed out through the realm which was then followed with the appearance of a young man. Upon the sight of the hair so close in color to the witch of certainty, her deduction told her that this was the so-called “Emerald Sorcerer”; this was the piece that had become more than it was predestined to be.
A torrent of red and blue wrapped and twirled around the cat, merging into a purple torrent. It then dispersed with a young lady being left in its place.
“It IS quite a pleasure, <Mr.> Sakana,” Erika curtsied to her host. “And my name is Furudo Erika, the Great Detective.”
She then looped her finger around the handle of the approaching tea cup and brought it close to her before folding one arm over the other. Erika glanced from side to side to the emptiness around them then cocked her head. “Would you kindly…?”

Such a dull house party. Rakisu had been expecting something with a bit more grace, but this was turning out to be a commoner’s mixer. Fools standing around and talking of blue collar work in such a drab building. The thought of having to stay till the end to clean up was insulting. As much class as her esteemed presence would have provided, Rakisu figured that such mangy guests did not deserve her touch of class. At the very least she could make some enjoyment out of harassing one of the younger guest on the way down the stairwell. No doubt they thought they were being a mature young lady by attending this bore of an evening.
“And can I ask what place does a child have in a gathering like this? Is it not past the young miss’s bed time?”
There was a one out of two-million, five-hundred seventy-eight thousand, nine-hundred seventeen chance that this so-called ‘house party’ would be one of class and excitement. Unfortunately, this was not that chance.
The stench of alcohol, illogical games of tossing balls into cups, and both amateurish and horrid dancing would fit quite well in one of those ‘crazy’, ‘hilarious’, and generic house party movies. But really, at the very least, investigating the house itself and learning of its floor plans uninterrupted was a prize for one that prides them self a detective.
Erika’s steps were careful and slow (just in case alcohol was spilt upon the stairwell) with her focus being on finding the least busy way out of the home. What she did not was someone addressing her the moment she reached the bottom. It was a maid whose appearance would fit more within the ideal party Erika wished to attend and possessed a tongue which would have cost her this lowly job the following day at Erika’s insistence.
Perhaps this party does have some potential for good fun.
Erika put on a troubled face and cast her expression downwards.
“Oh, dear me. It truly is unbecoming of me to be in a place like this, isn’t it? Even if I was I expecting more of a peaceful and accomplished venue…”
She looked up at her. “Surely it was not wrong hoping that this would be that particular type of event, correct? I mean… Someone like you is here so I just assumed…”
Rinoa immediately perked up at the sound of the woman’s voice. A job offer just fell from the sky! Were her worries over? Did this stranger truly just fix everything? “Oh wow. Umm Thank you! That would be-”
Wait, she needed to be smart about this, make sure to ask all the important questions. This was job to help her future after all.
“How much do you pay?”
That’s right. Even the most base of fish needs some sort of bait to fully garner their attention.
“Oh, yes. The price will not be extraordinarily high due to this position being part of a fairly recent business, but your pay will amount to…”
Erika began to tap her cheek. “A moment if you will… Let’s see… Pounds to euros… Then multiply that by… Wait…”
Her eyes darted up and down, inspecting the other woman from top to bottom. She noted her youthful appearance. That, coupled with a need for job, narrowed Erika’s thoughts to the age range of between seventeen and twenty-four. That was still a seven year difference. Without a résumé, it would be impossible to get something more exact and accurate.
“Excuse me, but how old are you currently and are you enrolled or attending a school of some kind?”
As he looked up to see the older woman, he noticed she was unbelievably beautiful and her voice was sweet and careful.Though, he snapped back to reality as soon as the girl had told him something.
But he couldn’t really make out what she said. Possibly because he didn’t really speak ‘smart’. But, he shouldn’t dwell on how he didn’t understand and actually say something about it.
“S-Sorry…I didn’t really understand that bit…! But, if it’s something that could get me out of trouble, I will agree wholeheartedly,” Ness exclaimed as he flashed her a smile.
He hands her the books and was careful not to drop them again.
“By the way…my name is Ness, Ness Montague! Are you from around here? Do you…perhaps go to Kairos High?”
A lot of questions in one go; he felt just a bit embarrassed but he decided it was good to be social once in awhile, even though he didn’t believe in the whole “friendship” thing. He considered everyone that talked him was an acquaintance because he didn’t want to deal with the whole “Hey I’m moving because my foster home is transferring me! Bye! BFFLS! Let me just shed a quick cry with you!”
As he was lost in thought, he completely forgot about the other standing in front of him, looking at him looking blankly at the floor.
Before she began introducing herself, Erika took the books into her arms and the moment this Ness boy began talking, she had her journal open in one hand and fountain pen in the opposite already jotting down his given information. One line was already filled up as the next line awaited the ink to be etched forever into it. A busy task maybe, but it was simple for one already used to this action.
The moment Ness went silent and started staring blankly at the floor was when Erika dropped both the history book and her own journal onto a nearby desk. The moment his attention was caught within her web was when Erika acted: she grabbed the hems of her skirt and curtsied to the young man.
“Greetings, <Monsieur> Montague. My name is Furudo Erika and it is a pleasure to have this meeting.”
She then seated herself onto a desk and gestured towards the seat opposite.
“I can tell you what you wish to know, but is a game not more entertaining? I shall allow you to guess thrice before I reveal the answers. I advise that you use proper deduction and reasoning. Now then, what exactly can you figure out of me?”
And, once more, she giggled.
You can do almost anything in downtown Kairos, from food courts to retail stores, you name it, it’ll probably be there. Ness loved walking around downtown at times after school because he loved the noise of the city. The sounds of the cars honking and the conversations happening all around him. It all felt right for him. He felt at peace with himself and helps him collect his thoughts.
But today, Ness was here for something important. Something everyone has to go through eventually in their lives.
Studying.
It was a tedious task for Ness and he loathed doing it. But if he wanted to pass his English Literature class, he was going to have to comply with the rules of the school.
As he entered the “Kairos Public Library” He looked around and examined the amount of people in the area. He saw 1 or 2 kids from his school studying for their classes too, not that he talked to them. As he searched for a desk to start his study session, he bumped into a peculiar woman. Soon after, he noticed he dropped their book and he bends down to pick it up.
“I’m sorry, m’am! I didn’t see you at all.”
For all of its flashy lights, sleepless strips, and endless noise, Kairos could be best described as a dull city devoid of intrigue and mystery. Of course, the lack of seeking out a mystery or rumor can assist with that belief. Rather than sit in a near empty apartment awaiting some underpaid laborers to arrive earlier than expected and move about her furniture, Furudo Erika had taken brief residence in the next best area: the Kairos Public Library.
It was akin to any other generic library: rows upon rows of shelves containing various books and topics. However, this did not mean its information was completely useless. It was within a historic section dedicated to Kairos’s history where Erika emerged holding both her booklet and a history book against her chest.
Unfortunately, her sudden appearance caused someone to bump into her, thus letting her books drop from her arms. Erika glared at him as he bent over to pick up the books.
“Oh...” -you buffoon.
But before he came face-to-face with her, she placed upon her face concern.
“Oh... Dear.”
And as he should, the boy immediately apologized. She giggled as he continued with the books, taking notice that this young man was her junior by about three to four years and, as logic would dictate, a student possibly here to study. Well, if he was here to learn then he shall learn.
“Do not worry. After all, to err is human. Thus, a transgression towards another can be forgiven, so long as the transgressor never let their action leave their memory. Would you not agree?”
“Oh, I absolutely adore parties. I do hope that this one is full of interest and intrigue as the many others I have attended.”
“Maaaaan.”
Frankly she was tired of this. Yet another job interview went badly, and she would have to put in yet another rent extension.
The girl took a seat at a nearby bench, slouching as she considered her options. Rinoa certainly couldn’t keep living off her father’s money forever, besides the entire point in running away was to prove herself. She thought she could do this, but her “funemployment” had to come to end.
Her frustration caused her to groan. “Who know finding a job would be this hard?!”
An unknown woman’s groan reached the ears of Erika and her following comment gained her attention. The apartment turned private investigator’s office did need someone who could spread word, collect calls, set up meetings, and all other boring activities a detective need not do. With those thoughts, she adjusted her lips into a kind smile and approached this woman.
“Excuse me? I heard that you needed work? I do have an opening and I am curious if you are interested in the position?”
Rumors, She Wrote (Opening)
For quite a while he was watching her, he watched as she hopped down the steps while mumbling to herself. He almost wanted to ask what she was doing, but her intense look of concentration prevented him from even daring to break it. Mikleo looked around them, to see if anyone had been watching her herself. Nope, just him. After she had gotten down to the bottom of the steps, he cleared his throat to get her attention.
「Uh… what are you doing?」
Before she could ascend one more time, a voice interrupted her process. There it was: the clichéd and somewhat expected response to her actions. Erika rolled her eyes and snapped her booklet shut. She then put on a smile and, with a flourish, turned then pointed pen nib first at her uninvited guest.
“When one sees a spider in their natural habitat, it spins webs. Thus a detective, in their natural habitat, investigates. Now with those two facts, what answer does your reasoning lead you to?”
Rumors, She Wrote (Opening)
Upon a flight of stairs were the bustling citizens in the city of Kairos. Whether ascending or descending, they all continued about on their business with the exception of a peculiar young woman with a small booklet in one hand and a pen in the other. She walked up them, pausing at each individual step for a brief moment before writing onto the page.
“…Seventeen… Eighteen… Nineteen… And twenty. I see...”
Furudo Erika stopped at the summit of the stairs then tapped on her cheek as she looked down them. She examined them thoroughly, then proceeded to place her pen into her pocket before taking a blue one out. Once more, her hand glided across the page and ended her writing with a quick flick of the wrist. Then, she began to descend on the opposite side from before.
“One… Two… Three… Four…”
She traveled down the stairs in the same slow rhythm from before, stopping at the bottom to write, and once more beginning the same process up and then down the stairs, then twice more, and several times more thus repeating this curious scene in a loop.

Put a word in my askbox and I will give you a bad AND good memory from my muse's past that associates with said word.

20. If your character was allowed to murder one person without any consequences, who would that person be and why?
Erika wouldn’t kill anyone under that condition since committing murder without consequence would be boring. She considers herself to be a master of mystery and one who can truly master that art must be able to be both an accomplished detective and murderer.
If she wasn’t driven by that pride, probably Lambdadelta (so no one else can compete for Bernkastel’s affection), Ange (since she was the primary reason for Bernkastel’s defeat), or Beatrice (to put a permanent end to someone who tainted her record).
