So we all know what happens to the bad guys at the end of the film- Cruella gets carted off to prison in the back of a truck, Jafar’s locked away in a genies lamp- his, Ursula gets impaled by a ship, Hades is swallowed up by the River Styx, Hans is sent back to his awful brothers, and Lady Tremaine is left once again poor, alone and disgraced.
But what happens to you, their S/O, after the movie ends?
You’re reading the paper. ‘Cruella De Vil arrested in Police dawn raid’ is the front page news, and you sigh Oh Cruella… You’re answering the door when the police come a knocking, and saying that no- I had no idea what she was up to. Oh Mr Policeman, don’t you think my lover’ll ever get out? There’s nothing I could do to help her… or you… is there?~ … You’re doing whatever you can, to get her out of there; She always says you evil little smile could convince anybody, of anything.
You’re standing before the Sultan, Jasmine, and her new husband during the day- getting the third degree about your possible knowledge about Jafar’s sinister plot. No, you tell them. I’m innocent… really, I’m just… horrified, that my husband would do anything like that... You’re lying your ass off; And they believe every word. You learnt from the best after all… Then, by night, you’re sending messengers on camel to search for that pitch black lamp, paying whatever’s demanded in exchange for the treason.
There has to be something here, you’re thinking in a panic, searching through your Ursula’s old things. Because there has to be- there has to be some magic here to bring her back. You’ll pay anything; Your voice, your face, your own life if you have to.
You’re in the Underworld, approaching the cliff with chains and a hook at your side… looking over the edge and taking a greenish tint to your cheeks as you take a deep breath in; Listening to Hades’ wails down there. Your fingers are clenching tightly, protectively around the chains as you lower the hook down into the chasm, waiting for the pull back.
You’re in the ship too, headed back to the Southern Isles. You aren’t imprisoned, but you are disappointed… and concerned, for your Prince. However Hans’ brothers react, it won’t be good and it won’t be just, you know that much. So you’re talking to guards, suggesting a pay out to let him go at the next dock- to tell the Royals that Hans threw himself overboard to avoid punishment for what he’s done. You’re planning to save him, and keep him saved; Whether the greedy idiot likes it or not.
You’ve got your hands full reassuring your Lady Tremaine that she’s not alone. She’s got you, and you’re not going anywhere.
