I was searching Pinterest for plushie inspo BECAUSE I had iron lung in mind, and suddenly I’m blessed with the exact thing I’m looking for!! I was gonna make the pattern myself, but I think I’ll try making queen_liar’s version first, as a test.

Pattern:

Key: [ = leave open { = leave sewing allowance and sew pieces together

• Things to be made of minky: face, chin, body, arm, ear, back hairs, side of hair, middle hair, pants, boots, gloves, front hair

• Things to be made of felt: shirt, vest, hood, bandage, vest patches, hood patches, belt, pouch

• White minky: pants

• Black minky: back hairs, side of hair, middle hair, front hair

• Grey minky: boots, gloves

• Peach/tan minky: face, chin, body, arm, ear

• Green felt: shirt, vest patch 1, vest patch 3, hood patch 2

• White felt: bandage, belt

• Black felt: pouch, harness

• Pale tan/off white felt: vest, hood

• Brown felt: vest patch 2, hood patch 1

• Yes stuffing: arm, body, face, back hair 1, side of hair, chin

• No stuffing: front hair, middle hair, back hair 2, ear, harness, shirt, pants, boots, vest, hood, pouch, gloves, bandage, belt, vest patches, hood patches

Leave sewing allowance for ALL body pieces unless sections are meant to be left open to stuff and sew to other pieces

If a pattern piece has no brackets, simply cut the piece out without needing to do extra stuff

Sew hood patches onto both hood sides and do the same for the vest. Sew hood pieces onto the vest pieces, leave seam allowance for all pieces to attach together to be allowed to come on & off

Cut slits into the backs of clothing pieces(shirt, vest+hood, pants) attach velcro into them so you can play dress up with your Simon ^_^

Sew harness pieces onto the body pieces

If there’s a way I can improve the pattern, don’t hesitate to tell me via strawpage! But please be aware that this is my first edited plushie pattern, and I am a beginner at sewing. This is a passion project, so mistakes will be made.

❗️the backrooms movie spoilers❗️

so i was talking to my dad abt the movie and he was telling me that he thought the movie was really weird and hard to follow—like alice in wonderland for example—so i got to explaining(?) things abt it. like some of my theories and observations, so i thought i would put them here

mary’s childhood flashbacks came off to me as traumatic. her mother was clearly mentally ill and was neglecting her daughter(i.e. the moulding sandwich with flies buzzing around it.) what lead me to believe that mary's mother was mentally ill, was because of her going “don’t go outside, never go outside” while acting skittish and paranoid, her being wheeled around a hospital setting, maybe a mental hospital? and the fact that she seemed to be neglectful.

the dinner scene where clark says that you can eat the still lifes and/or harm them, and they’ll do nothing about it, clearing demonstrates that he’s done shit to the still lifes. he looks giddy as hell while he explains this to a restrained mary, implies that he’s happy in the backrooms because he can do whatever the hell he wants to do, and face no consequences for it. it also gives us a look into what kind of person clark most likely is, regardless of his descent into madness.

the scene where it pans downward from mary’s childhood living room into the backrooms’ “memory” of it, as it slowly degrades into abstraction and simplicity, makes me think that the backrooms might be a metaphor for our memories and how they fade into fuzziness and wrongness over time as the memory becomes older. now that im thinking about it more, if we think of it like this, then clark getting comfortable with the backrooms might be another metaphor of him getting lost in his mind.

the backrooms itself could be considered an entity. like how it “called out” to clark via his crtv by using the camera that a-sync was using, and putting the footage on clark's tv. maybe every time you go into the backrooms, the more it creeps into your brain and convinces you that you have to keep going back. over and over until you think you have to simply stay there.

I love the backrooms movie and looking at posts about The Backrooms but I am the most fearful creature in all the land so every time I see Captain Clark’s face I get very unsettled (normal) but that resets my cycle of being afraid of him and then I see his face in the dark and have to play five nights at Freddy’s four with my active imagination
