hey, everyone. my girlfriend, alyssa (an autistic genderqueer Black lesbian) and i (an autistic nonbinary butch) are really struggling right now…

alyssa obtained a spinal injury on the job that’s left her badly disabled and unable to work her old hours. she’s applying for worker’s comp but it’s likely to take months. and due to my own disabilities, i’m still struggling to find any employment. i’ve also lost my tablet pen and can’t afford to replace it, so i can’t do my usual art commissions.

on top of all of this, we’re behind on car payments and if we don’t get enough to make a payment, our car will be repossessed and that will be EXTREMELY financially devastating to us.

so we need $245 by TOMORROW or we will have no means of transportation at all!

This is getting on my fucking nerves, so I’m just going to say it here:

Adults who need high levels of support in daily living are not children. 

“Mental age” is a concept rooted in eugenics, and it doesn’t actually exist.

No one should be robbed of agency or dignity because of their need for support. Oh, also, while we’re at it (since disability rights activism that doesn’t tackle age-related oppression is bullshit), kids deserve to be treated with respect too. Shouldn’t be a controversial statement, but it is.

Most people neglect to mention this, but if “being treated like a child” equates to “being robbed of agency and dignity,” there’s something fundamentally wrong with the way we treat children.

Ok so for those of you who don’t have Twitter

The TOH fandom has a big problem with white favoritism. It needs to be brought up and talked about. First, a lot of actual POC are drowned out or ignored or don’t recieve enough acknowledgement. Then there’s the characters. A lot of people are coming in not knowing that Luz, an Afro-Latina female who is bisexual, is the main character because there’s so much about Amity. Gus and Willow are also extremely underrated and overshadowed because of characters that appeared for like one episode, said characters being white. Same with background characters. Everyone goes crazy over Boscha but no one talks about Skara or Kat. Then there’s the problem of Luz and Willows’ parents being called abusive for just trying to help their kids and for wanting what’s best while the Blights (actual abusers) have a lot of posts about them because everyone started dumping over them despite how they treat Amity. Someone else pointed out how Camilia is rarely ever drawn aside from being shipped with a white woman (Eda). Also it’s really kind of sad, for me personally, to finally see a Hispanic main character who’s bi get pushed aside, especially during both Bisexual Awareness Week and Hispanic Heritage Month.

I have twitter and I can 100% confirm this, the fandom talks a lot about Boscha, the Blight Twins and even Eda. That's white favoritism and can't be let aside from a show whose protagonist is a Hispanic bisexual character, Luz, Gus, Willow and Camilia get left behind or are only included on ships.

That's why some TOH Latines fans are planning on getting Luz to trend each Monday as a part to celebrate her importance in the show, also they're planning on making a #GusAppreciationWeek, I don't know the exact date for the Gus appreciation week. But if you could help getting Luz to trend since this Monday 21st and the next one's it'd be great!!
