So I remember I was having a normal conversation with my friend then I mentioned something about colors. I jokingly said " Velvet' s a color" and my friend freaked out. She looked so confused and I told her it wasn't I was kidding but she was so sure, now she's lost. Concerned about her well being I ask her if she's thinking of violet then she gets even more confused. So for the rest of lunch we pretty much argue back and forth about if velvet is a color or not. This gets so many people involved that I don't even know who these people are anymore, THEY'RE JUST RANDOM PEOPLE AROUND US. This it's come to the point were I have to ask a teacher, a well educated adult, because apparently Google isn't enough. Then finally she tells her that it's a fabric. The dead ass stare in her eyes were priceless. All shed had known, her whole existence was a lie. After that still some people actually think it's a color. And that's how I got half of the school to think velvet is a color

Want to know a casting choice I never heard anyone complain about?

Zoe Saldana as Gamora. Because they took the time to paint her up to look like the character she’s portraying. Obviously no human has green skin, so as long as the actress has the right body type, race doesn’t matter. Just paint her up.

People are not criticizing Anna Diop as Starfire because OMG COMIC BOOK GEEKS HATE BLACK PEOPLE. People are criticizing it because she looks NOTHING LIKE the character she is portraying. Starfire is an orange alien, not a black woman, and all we wanted was for the show to take five minutes and five dollars to paint her up properly. Her whole outfit could use an overhaul, too.
